Woodlands Lodge is Formby’s hidden gem! Located close to the heart of Formby, it is the ideal home setting with a welcoming team of care professionals. The Lodge provides a range of residential care and residential dementia care services to residents over the age of 65.

Arranged over two floors, Woodlands Lodge provides a community setting where members can benefit from high-quality care, tailored to their individual needs. It has been specially designed to improve residents’ quality of life, through mobility and experience.

Fully equipped with high-quality furnishings and fittings throughout; each bedroom comes with an adjustable profile bed, call bell system, flat-screen TV, telephone, wireless internet access and ensuite wet room. There is a range of facilities from comfortable lounges, dining rooms, health & beauty salon, resident’s kitchen and outdoor spaces that are perfect for visits with friends & family.

Woodlands Lodge understands the importance of a well-balanced and nutritious diet and therefore, a carefully selected team produces home-cooked meals onsite daily. The resident's preferences and cultural or dietary requirements are incorporating into the menu and guests are able to join residents at mealtimes if there have been prior arrangements.

The Lodge has their very own in-house lifestyle and wellbeing team who organise a full schedule of daily activities and outings. They are dedicated to making their residents’ home a happy, vibrant and fun place to live! With lots of daily in-house activities taking place in the communal lounges, there is always something fun going on around every corner.

    If advance notice is given, visitors are welcome to use the facilities. For example, friends and family may like to join loved ones in the spacious dining room for a meal or even enjoy a light bite in one of the tea rooms.


    In order to dedicate the time to provide an initial look around, the Lodge requests that viewings are organised in advance to ensure staff members are available.

Generally everything fine, prompt support when needed, friendly staff. The food, although I'm sure appreciated by most residents is not really to my taste. Homemade soup very good but I miss REAL bread not cheap sliced. Have made suggestions to the chef but not really acted upon. Same side dishes every
day, very salty crisps and coleslaw. Diabetic puddings or fruit (have been buying my own) would be appreciated. The timing of food difficult, breakfast 8.30-9.00, lunch 12 noon, evening meal 4.30-5. My time's breakfast 9.30, lunch 1.30 and evening meal 7-7.30.

At Woodlands Lodge we welcome all reviews and in previous discussions with the resident I am pleased to comment that the above earlier issues have been resolved.
The resident recently enjoyed a birthday buffet with friends and was very complimentary about this lovely celebration.

From the moment I entered the home I just knew it was correct with all that was written about it. The Manager and every one of her staff all work together and make it a lovely place to relax in and get you on your feet again. Cheerful and happy and a lovely smile on their faces. I don't think you could
get anywhere better, wherever you look. Thanks for the memories (as Bob Hope would say). God bless you all.

Having worked in the care sector now for more than 15 years in various roles, the most fulfilling role has to be working with prospective residents, their family or their representatives. I find it most rewarding in helping to find the most suitable care home that will endeavour to meet the care needs of each new resident, along with show casing and promoting the many superb facilities each individual care home has to offer.


My main duty is just by being there every step of the way, helping to support families to take away some of the stress of trying to find the right care home for their loved one.


In my spare time I love nothing more than walking my cockapoo, travelling to different counties within the UK and visiting different countries to sample the different restaurants, sightseeing and experiencing different cultures, but most importantly spending quality time with family and friends.
