Residents at Hartfield House each have their own spacious and uniquely decorated bedroom with an en suite wetroom as well as access to a variety of communal areas, including living and dining rooms, a dedicated activities and wellbeing room, a café for enjoying a catch up with loved ones, a hairdressing and nail salon, a cinema and a private dining room for celebrating special family occasions. The weeks are my husband is on the dementia floor and without exception, the staff are caring, helpful and do everything in their power to make the residents happy. The arrangements to take my husband to outside hospital appointments could be better organised (re. transport) I am always made to feel
welcome when visiting.

My aunt needed urgent respite care and the Hartfield staff were excellent in the way they handled this need. They worked quickly and efficiently to ensure the whole process ran smoothly and my aunt was welcomed at the home within a week of my initial phone call. She settled very well, very quickly,
and loved the whole experience, taking part in the activities, making friends, and thoroughly enjoying her meals. She felt so well cared for. My aunt really liked her room - both the decor and the view of the garden and was very keen to tell of her new experiences whenever I visited.
Very sadly my aunt was only there a few weeks before she died. The level of care was excellent throughout and the kindness and professionalism shown during her final days was of real comfort to me. My aunt was skilfully nursed and treated with gentleness and dignity. I cannot fault the entire team and I would not hesitate to recommend Hartfield House.

My client who I have known for 12 years, moved to Hartfield House Care Home two years ago following a fall at home. I have been so impressed with the standards of the home, the way my client who recently turned 100 has been treated with such respect and dignity is so very unusual in my experience. The
home is spotlessly clean, the staff are just lovely and my client tells me all the time how lucky she is to be here. The way they have looked after the residents during Covid has been outstanding. I would happily go there myself if I need a care home.

My Aunt was no longer able to remain in her own home, and as her power of attorney, I wanted to make sure the home she went to was the most suited to her needs.
Having visited several homes in the area, Hartfield House Care Home was the stand-out one for us. There is a lovely homely and friendly atmosphere
and it was clear that care standards were very high.
We have been absolutely delighted with Hartfield House and my Aunt’s mental and physical health have clearly improved since she moved in.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Hartfield House to others.

The team at Hartfield House have made a difficult phase for my mother and her family as easy as it could be. The team of carers are always considerate, friendly and competent. The home seems to be very well managed with excellent leadership in nursing and customer service. They have good systems in
place to make visits inside and outside the home possible for residents and families in a safe and controlled manner. The team has been proactive in discussing my mother's needs with me and making sure that she is receiving the best possible care. They have also been helpful with advice for me and my family at this time. The facilities are nicely decorated and new and clean with gardens for residents to enjoy at the rear and front of the house.

I find the atmosphere at Hartfield House always friendly and the staff are always cheerful and helpful. The feeling it gives me is of a hotel that feels like a home. There are little rooms to sit in as well as larger lounges that feel like a front room. In the last nursing home we used the chairs were
all around the edge of the room and it looked more like a waiting room with no character, in fact, my relative stayed in her room as she found it depressing. It is thanks to the care that she receives that keeps her happy and giggling, in her previous home she was quite often down in the dumps. I have been so pleased to be able to recommend a friend to Hartfield.

Our father stayed at the care home for two weeks having been released from the hospital at very short notice. My brother and I visited the care home to see what it was like and spoke with the manager. Within two days, Hartfield was able to accommodate him. They looked after him really well - the staff
were very friendly and he got on with them very well. The care home is relatively new and so it was like staying in a modern home. Each room has an en-suite which was set up so he could safely take a shower. After the five day isolation period due to COVID, my father was able to move around the home and enjoy its facilities. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to know that their relative will be looked after with great care.

Mum's Alzheimer's has understandably progressed/worsened throughout lockdown. She had her 2nd jab today. During this very difficult period her one to one staff on "Willow" have been brilliant very caring/understanding and kind to my mum. She can be very difficult when it comes to showers etc and they
do their very best to make it as painless as possible. I ring most days and get the chance to speak to mum. The two ladies at reception are so nice and helpful and the management have done very well in such trying times.

My mum was in Hartfield House for 4-months, during that time she had palliative - end of life care. All of the staff were kind and supportive - nothing was ever too much trouble. Any questions or needs we had were answered quickly and dealt with efficiently, I was never made to feel I couldn't ask or
question something. Her independence was always encouraged, but as her needs grew greater and changed, the staff assessed and quietly increased her level of nursing care, always liaising with the Hospice and her GP. The home itself is beautiful and it feels like you are walking into a hotel, not a care home - which as a frequent visitor I really appreciated. I cannot recommend this care home highly enough for both the needs of your loved one and your own as I felt very supported and cared for too.

Our mother had Alzheimer's and when independent living was no longer an option we had no choice but to put her in a home. Luckily we found Hartfield House and she was admitted just before the first lockdown in 2020. The care our mum received was second to none. Everybody was genuinely fond of her and
she kept telling us how happy she was. She always looked well dressed and cared for and even managed to put on weight after some months of forgetting to eat. When she became ill, the nurses were amazing and treated her with such dignity and respect. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone and we were allowed to sit with her as long as we wanted. Staff regularly popped in to see how she was doing and to give her their love – so comforting for us all. I simply cannot recommend Hartfield House enough. Yes, it's and nice to look at but at the heart of it, all are the wonderful staff who go above and beyond to make it such a special place.

My mum was in hospital during the first lockdown as she had broken her leg, we were strongly advised that my mum now needed full-time residential care as she has Alzheimer’s and dementia and had no capacity to make decisions or be safe at home anymore even with careers in place. We were unable to view
any homes because of lockdown and my fear of her going into a home that we only had reviews to go by was worrying. How would she respond not having her family around to help her make the transition was absolutely heartbreaking. I was blessed that a friend of mine worked at Hartfield who highly recommend the home. I am grateful every day that she is in a home where I know and feel totally at ease with her being at Hartfield they were so understanding and supportive throughout lockdown and have done everything in their power to keep things as normal as possible within the home, for the residents while keeping them safe throughout this time. Everyone is so kind and caring thank you.

From the moment we left our Mother in the care of Hartfield House we knew she was in the right place. Our Mother had Alzheimer’s and had just spent a bewildering week in hospital and was very confused and troubled. As we left she had a carer with her talking to her, stroking her hand, reassuring her
- all was well. That was days before the first lockdown in March 2020. When we were next able to see our Mother she was more like her old self, she had put on weight, looked happy and contented and clearly felt safe in her new home. It was also obvious how caring and tender all the staff were too.
A year later and our Mother passed away peacefully and with dignity at Hartfield House. We cannot thank all the staff enough for the wonderful care and respect they gave to Mum allowing her to be content, safe and happy during her last months of life. I shall be recommending Hartfield to friends and family, it is an amazing place.

My mother was a resident at Hartfield House from September 2018 to February 2021 when she died in the care home. She was very disabled and needed assistance to stand and to do absolutely everything for herself. The majority of staff clearly cared for mum and she felt very valued. With her disabilities
she had been quite isolated before entering into Hartfield House; once here she was able to be more sociable: joining others for meals in the dining room, taking part in activities with other residents and sometimes with us attending as well which was lovely. It had been several years since she had taken part in similar activities.
She was well looked after with excellent meals, snacks and fantastic nursing care: always considerate and gentle care and delivered with respect for her dignity.
The family were always treated with friendliness and made very welcome.
It was wonderful she was able to remain at the home during her very short final illness. Thank you.

My mother was welcomed to Hatfield House suffering from dementia and needed post-surgery recuperation. It was at a particularly difficult time for our family, as my father had just passed away and I cannot stress enough the gratitude I would like to extend to all members of the staff for the warmth
and compassion shown to us all, as well as the care given to Mum. Sadly her stay was very short as she gently passed away at the end of a fortnight, but during that time she was treated with dignity and kindness by all involved with her care. It was such a relief to know that she was in an excellent nursing home where the facilities were beautiful as well as spotlessly clean and where the staff provided a service second to none. I can fully recommend Hartfield House to anyone facing the difficult task of finding a home for loved ones in need of good care. You can rest assured they will be very well looked after, ensuring that you will have peace of mind they are in safe hands.

My wife had a rare form of dementia and lost the ability to comprehend what was said or to communicate other than by smiling or singing. However, when she first went to live in Hartfield she was still physically active and the manager enabled us to take her out walking every day. My wife was also able
to have her beloved piano with her. My wife's condition deteriorated rapidly as her condition progressed and Hartfield staff were diligent in liaising with the GP and paramedics to arrange the best possible care for her. My wish for my wife to stay and be cared for in the home (rather than go into hospital) was respected and supported. During her final days and weeks, the care home provided wonderful care both for my wife and for us as a family. As I said publicly at the service to celebrate my wife's life: "My wife loved her carers and they loved her. Caring for people with dementia day in day out is demanding and stressful but the Hartfield carers do it with dignity and kindness".

My mother moved to Hartfield House in June 2019 after struggling with independent living for some time. The home is truly exceptional, the rooms and communal areas are spacious and welcoming, and all the facilities from the delicious food (especially the cakes) to the hairdressing and cinema rooms are
first class. So much so, that Mum used to tell friends that she lived in a 5-star hotel. As a family, we were extremely pleased with the exceptional care Mum received. All the staff at Hartfield have been unfailingly caring, compassionate and supportive, both to Mum and the family, never more so than in the last couple of weeks of her life when her close family were able to be at her bedside despite the Covid restrictions. We were so pleased that Mum had a very happy and stress-free year at Hartfield.

Hello, my name is Jenny Robinson, and I am the Client Services Manager here at Hartfield House.


Having worked in the retirement living sector for the past five years, I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to join the team at Hartfield House - I have never looked back and thoroughly enjoy my job as no two days are the same.


My role at Hartfield House involves helping, supporting and guiding people as they choose a home for themselves or a loved one. I am delighted to be able to show people around Hartfield House as everybody benefits from the emotional process of moving into a new home being made smoother with a helping hand. Hartfield House is a truly special home and has a unique atmosphere from the moment you come through our front doors.
