Bridge House Care Home is a warm and welcoming 66 bed care home on the outskirts of Brighouse offering residential, nursing and dementia care.

The home was designed and built, and is run by family owned Fisher Care who have well over 30 years experience caring for older ladies and gentlemen across Yorkshire. With the greatest attention to detail regarding every aspect of the home, the team are extremely proud of Bridge House and the care that they provide to residents.

The sixty-six en-suite bedrooms are each individually designed with different colour pallets and contrasting furnishings, giving a modern yet restful feel and maintaining a homely ambiance. Residents have a huge choice of shared communal spaces including a rooftop garden, a pub, a cinema room, a small shop and a café area.

Professional and well-trained staff provide person-centred care in a tranquil, caring environment. Kindness, warmth and compassion from every team member helps them to deliver safe and effective care.

The building itself, designed with long term sustainability in mind, boasts a heat source ground pump, LED energy-saving lighting and underfloor heating throughout to minimise the carbon footprint.

My mother was being discharged from hospital following a serious fall and is unable to put any weight on her right leg. Having refused a care home selected by the social services, we made contact with Bridge House Care home in Brighouse.
Immediately the weight was taken off my shoulders, and Bridge
House took control and arranged everything with the hospital, transport and special equipment that was required.
My mother has been at the home for 2 weeks, and has settled in well. Her room is of a good size with private bathroom, TV and telephone. The food is cooked fresh on site and my mother is very complimentary. All staff have a welcoming smile, aiming to please when ever possible.
Bridge House is presently under improvements with a tea room, shop and a bar being introduced.

My Dad has been a resident at Bridge House for 18 months and he has been extremely well cared for since his arrival. The home itself is immaculate - very modern facilities and furnishings - feels more like a hotel than a care home. The staff are always pleasant and keen to help my Dad with anything
he needs. They always have a smile on their face and deal with everything in an efficient manner. The activities are organised well with something taking place every day. I would definitely recommend Bridge House to anyone looking for a clean, safe environment for their loved ones.

I have never seen a more caring, thoughtful, creative and down right fantastic care home! The staff are great and the place is very very well looked after! But the best and most important thing is how happy and entertained the residents always look! From garden projects, to singers, dancers, games,
films, they have thought of everything! Even a daily telegram with info on from an event in the past. I honestly think this place is amazing! And I love their social media page with a chance to see my Grandma! I love knowing what she’s up to a on almost daily basis! Highly recommend!

My mum had been at this home previously for respite care and I was very impressed with the top quality in terms of care, professionalism, cleanliness and beautiful surroundings but most importantly the dedication and care of all the staff. I knew that when the time came for us to choose a care home
for long term care this would be the home I would choose.
My mum has been here now since February and has been offered a long term placement with 24 hour care.
I am confident that she is getting the best care and attention and even though times are very difficult at the moment with the Coronavirus and we cannot visit her the staff keep us updated every day and we can speak to my mum on the phone regularly.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bridge House care home and believe it’s the best home in this area.

Mum was in the care of Bridge House for just over 4 months. It was apparent after a few days of her being there we knew she was going to be given the care and attention she deserved. The staff were brilliant and Mum was treated with kindness and respect. She enjoyed her meals sat with the other residents
in the lovely dining room and she enjoyed socialising and made new friends. She also loved the view from her room window and enjoyed looking out. In her final weeks, she was cared for extremely well, with the dignity she deserved. We cannot thank the staff at Bridge House enough for the help and support they gave us through a very difficult time.

Bridge House is excellent, not only is the building of hotel quality but our family was impressed with the high standard of care provided to our family member. Staff were efficient, supportive and professional. The activities were relevant and publicised weekly. The meals appeared lovely and choices
on the displayed menus. Thanks to all involved in the home for ensuring our family was safe and looked after.
The only criticism would be the door entry system was out of service so, at times, a longer wait when the office staff had left for the door, the staff, however, dealt with our issues promptly.

I visited my friend regularly whilst in Bridge House Care Home and I was instantly greeted by the most caring, helpful and kind staff that do an amazing job, day in day out, treating my friend with such dignity. Nothing was too much for them and I found it so lovely that the staff had taken the time
to get to know my friend and her hobbies and interests and how she told me that they took her up to the rooftop garden every day so she could listen to the birds, she always did love them. Such a beautiful home with beautiful staff. I couldn't recommend Bridge House anymore, they really did a fantastic job! Thank you.

It was not easy to put my husband into care. Now he is settled at Bridge House.
He enjoys the food which is varied, well prepared and presented. I notice that if residents are not able to come to the day room to eat a carer takes a tray to their rooms and if necessary helps them to eat there. I know
care is taken to ensure each gets food to their liking.
All the staff are friendly, caring and helpful to residents and family. They are patient and gentle with residents, some of whom have very varied needs and some can be difficult at times.
The manager and ancillary staff are always available, approachable and helpful.
The staff have asked about his earlier life, work and hobbies etc. So they can talk to him about his interests. There are activities each day for those bale to take an active part. I know that those less able to 'do' and activity are still involved as much as possible.
The whole building is clean and well presented. We have made good use of the room gardens during this summer weather.
We are very pleased with the overall support and care he has received since he has been here knowing he is well looked after gives us much comfort and reassurance.
I strongly recommend Bridge House.

Dad moved into Bridge House in February after an extended period in hospital.
Whilst there, he was treated with kindness and respect by the wonderful, helpful and friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble for them.
Although Dad was in a wheelchair, it did not prevent the staff from making sure
he was involved in all the activities and at mealtimes, he would enjoy sitting with other residents around the dining table in the lovely day room.
The attention to detail at Bridge House is amazing, it feels like a five star hotel, all the rooms are spotless with beautiful modern furnishings - it really is stunning, however, it is the staff that makes this such a lovely place to stay.
We were always made so welcome - when asking about visiting times I was told “whenever you like” - visits to Dad were always most enjoyable.
Unfortunately, Dad passed away in June, again the staff were so caring - they dealt with everything professionally and compassionately during those last few difficult days.

My Mother has just spent a week on respite care at Bridge House and she has really enjoyed her stay. The staff are very caring and respectful and have a great deal of patience with the residents and visitors alike. Her room was spotless and with modern furnishings and bedding with a lovely ensuite shower
room. Mother enjoyed all her meals which are served in a lovely clean dining room with excellent views.
Mother enjoyed her stay so much I have booked her in for two further visits 4 weeks apart and Mother is considering moving in permanently in the future when the time feels right.

I have just successfully admitted my husband for respite into Bridge House Care Home. I really wanted to share my positive, honest experience with future users. We arrived late and the manager was leaving, she noticed us arriving and came straight over and showed us in, she showed us around the home
and introduced us to the staff team on duty. She was friendly, kind and courteous, as was every member of the care team we encountered.
Nothing was too much trouble for the manager, despite her being on her way out, she made us drinks, chatted with us about my husband's care needs, answered every question we asked.
I was so impressed! Never have I heard of such a person focused approach, or been met by such a warm individual.
I felt the need to share this on this website as I would like to say thank you to her and the care team, for making a very difficult decision such a positive experience. I cannot express how happy we both are with the service received.

My mother moved into Bridge House last November and the care and attention she has received since moving in have been excellent. She loves her room and the views from the home which are superb. The home is exceptionally clean and very warm and the food is good. Above all, it is the attitude of the
staff which moves me to write this review. They are always tremendously positive, always smiling, extremely friendly and really nothing is too much trouble. My mother has settled really well and is very happy at Bridge House.

Dad was at Bridge House receiving palliative care for four weeks after hospital discharge. The nursing floor had only just opened and there were about six residents at the time. The staff were very caring and attentive. They would chat with Dad, feed and give drinks when required and make sure his
music was on. Most of the main meals were frozen ready meals but a lot of puddings were made in-house. The resident nurses were very good and soon got to know Dad.


There were a few teething problems, such as issues in re-ordering medications and unfortunately some agency nurses filling staffing gaps which can be unsettling for residents. He also received clothes back from the laundry which were not his. Bearing in mind this Company already have homes in North Yorkshire this was surprising.


The building is beautifully decorated, with a lot of facilities. The security was very good.


Overall, I would recommend the home and hopefully, the teething issues are just that and have been sorted out.
