My father has been in Birchmere Mews for about 18 months 2 years now and I can honestly say it's a wonderful place. The staff are always extremely efficient, caring and attentive. The home is a very serene and comfortable place and I know that I don't have to worry about my father as his care is the
best there is. He is very happy there and long may that continue.

I have found all members of staff to be welcoming to family members. l have also found all members of staff to be polite, attentive, respectful and caring to my aunt. My aunt is happy there and well looked after. Birchmere Mews is modern with great furnishings and a bright and light environment.

My father was admitted to hospital following a fall and some complications. The home he was in for respite care said they couldn't fulfil his ongoing care needs due to him having severe dementia.
We approached Birchmere Mews Care Home and discussed Dad's needs with them. The team were excellent in
every respect, showed real empathy and agreed to take Dad into their care. The whole experience was a positive one for us and for Dad.
To date, Dad has improved significantly over the past two weeks from when he was in the hospital, he looks comfortable, smart and he is alert. The whole family are so grateful for everything that the team at Birchmere Mews have done to make Dad so comfortable. Thank you.

When I arrive to Birchmere Mews Care Home, the reception ladies always make me feel welcome and friendly. My first impression is always clean and tidy with fresh flowers. The informed me if there is anything I should know and communication is always good. On parking to go and puck up my friend to go

As a family, we were very anxious about mum going to a care home after my dad passed away in September 2022, but from the very beginning, the team at Birchmere Mews have supported us all through the journey. All of the team have been fantastic, they look after my mum just so well, and we are just so
confident that mum is safe, stimulated and loved at Birchmere Mews. Everyone knows her (and us) and always goes the extra mile to ensure that we are kept up to date with Mum's care.
Mum was recently admitted to hospital, and while there, had a fall and broke her shoulder - the team at Birchmere has been absolutely fantastic since she came out of the hospital - changing her bed, fully caring for her while she was still bedridden and since she has begun to recover, the team have been helping her to do her exercises, provided a wheelchair and enabling her to sit out in the lounge again with her friends. As a family, we really can't thank them enough for their care.

My 86-year-old father was in need of some respite care due to a couple of falls that he had sustained at home. Birchmere was able to accommodate him at very short notice and with the minimum of fuss.
The staff have all made him very welcome, which has helped him settle in, and we have absolute peace
of mind that he is being well looked after. The room is wonderful, and the food and activities have been excellent.
Visiting hours are very flexible and need no prior booking.
My thanks go to all the staff involved.

From my husband’s admission to Birchmere Mews until his recent death, the manager and her team always treated my husband with respect and dignity. On each visit my husband looked well cared for and happy.
He enjoyed the food, especially the homemade cakes.
He enjoyed taking part in the daily activities
and the little outings in BIrchmere’s minibus
My family and myself were informed of any visits by his GP or other health professionals and was kept up to date with any changes in my husband’s condition.
I thank the manager and her team for their kindness to myself and my family daily.

My mother's admission into Birchmere Mews Care Home was extremely well handled under difficult circumstances. The arrangements were all made within 48 hours. The staff are all so kind and communicate with me very well. They have been in touch with me regularly as my mother settles into a new way of
life. My mother seems very relaxed and is joining in with all of the activities. There are regular updates on Facebook and it is so lovely to see her engaging with other people and having fun. Her medical needs are taken care of and she has beautiful accommodation. She tells me that the food is excellent and everyone is very kind. What more could I ask? I have no hesitation in recommending Birchmere Mews.

From the first day of my uncle’s admission to the Mews, I have been kept informed and updated every step of the way. The admission was to support my uncle after leaving hospital whilst an assessment of his needs was carried out, when it was confirmed that he needed full-time care, I knew we had already
found the place, with Birchmere Mews, to provide this. I know he is safe and his every need is being attended to. All of the staff from the reception to the “ward” are wonderful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Birchmere Mews.

I was very happy to find that dementia care was available at Birchmere Mews for respite, as my husband is blind and now has an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. It was very helpful to visit beforehand and know that everything possible would be done to look after him, as he would be totally dependent on carers
in an unfamiliar situation. As far as I understand he was content and benefited from the social interaction with other residents and with his carers. He was able to receive telephone calls and so reassure myself and other family members that he was aware of the situation and would be returning home after the two weeks of respite care had elapsed. I think the situation was difficult for him but he was in safe hands.

Since my father moved into Birchmere Mews, I have been very happy with the service and level of care provided. The staff are very kind and attentive and are always available if I have any queries. My Dad is very well looked after and the staff genuinely care about his wellbeing. They have gone the
extra mile to settle him into his new home and are always thinking of new ways to make his days happy and interesting. The range of activities is excellent and I receive photos to show how much my Dad enjoys these sessions. The bedrooms are bright and spacious with large ensuite facilities and everywhere is clean and fresh. The indoor garden area is beautiful and very much appreciated by Dad. I would highly recommend Birchmere Mews.

My parents moved into Birchmere Mews Care Home just over two and a half years ago. Prior to them moving in, I did a lot of research before selecting this wonderful care home for them.
I have never doubted my choice…every individual from the care home manager, deputy manager, welcoming reception staff,
carers, hostess team (including the wonderful chef) activities team and housekeeping, have been so very helpful and kind. Nothing is too much trouble.
Without exception, staff demonstrate incredible patience, tolerance, and kindness, even when dealing with the most challenging of situations.
The last 18 months have been particularly difficult. Very sadly, in May last year, both of my parents caught Covid. The care they were given was above and beyond what we could have asked for. Sadly, my father passed away, but the communication and compassion we were shown from the whole team was incredible and helped to make a difficult situation more bearable.

I have 13 years of experience in the Care Sector, I started with Avery in 2019, working towards the Home Manager role which I started in August 2023.


I am looking forward to the challenge and cannot wait to get to know all of our lovely residents and relatives.


The thing I am most excited about is making a difference in Residents' daily living and ensuring all of their holistic needs are met.
