Nestling in the Welsh Valleys with views of the Blorenge Mountain, this stunning new care home opened November 2018. This luxurious home offers 70 ensuite fully furnished rooms with residential, nursing and dementia care available. A fully inclusive package is offered to include all care, meals, snacks and alcohol, laundry, housekeeping, hairdressing, physio and chiropody. There are also companion suites for couples to stay together.

The home has a gym with the very latest equipment designed for the older client, cinema, bar and a range of daily activities. A range of activities will be on offer seven days a week.

Family and friends are encouraged to visit whenever they wish with a guest suite available and private dining facilities.

Lovely place. Bright and modern with good communal areas. Welcoming to the family who visit and a real sense of care and community. Rooms and ensuite facilities are great. Would recommend clothes hanger rail to be lower for shorter residents to be able to use easily.

I am so impressed by the staff here at Foxhunters. They are professional, competent and so friendly. They never talk down to residents or show fatigue. This leads to a happy atmosphere and you feel you are part of a lovely family. The frustrations and challenges caring for elderly people are never evident.
I want to thank every member of staff for doing an excellent job. The facilities are new and cosy and delightful. The food is superb.

What a delightful place. The staff are lovely and helpful. My husband and I have been looking after our friend for 10 years with the help of a carer, but now she is in the best place with people around her day and night.

Foxhunters could not do more to help with settling my mum into care.
Going from the semi-independence of living alone after her husband died suddenly, enduring loneliness and isolation at home, the changes since joining the Foxhunters community has been amazing. A new found pride in appearance, interests
and activities, plus the independence of having the right facilities on hand to encourage it.
Just consider the simple things like having a warm, safe, ensuite, great chefs, nursing and carers as required. Brilliant, topped off with total peace of mind for the family.
Staff have been awesome. Keep up the good work.

My mum moved here in December after her previous home closed its nursing facility giving us very short notice to move. The management at Foxhunters could not have been more helpful with the move, putting themselves under pressure to organise their registration with the council so we could meet the deadline
given.
The move was traumatic for mum as she had spent over 3 years at her previous care home. However, thanks to the excellent staff who treated her with respect, patience and dignity she soon felt at home and is now participating in the wide range of activities on offer.
The other residents also played a big part in my mum’s well being as they are always friendly and supportive. Foxhunters is quite unique with its beautiful location, great food and wonderful facilities. It has a friendly atmosphere and the staff take time and care with each individual like they are all family.
I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

The care and attention given to my mother, by all the team at Foxhunters, during her recent respite care stay was superb.
Whilst still dealing with the practicalities of opening a new care home, the personal attention we received from the point of initial contact with the care home cannot be faulted.
The full team showed a drive to understand our specific needs and requirements to ensure that the care and support given was personal, and tailored to ensure Mum's comfort and wellbeing.
This beautifully presented care home was impressive from the first view, but it was the warmth, professionalism and caring dedication shown by the team at the home that ensured my mother's stay was so positive. I would have no hesitation in seeking to approach Foxhunters again for further respite care nor in recommending it to anyone else.

Foxhunters were extremely efficient and rescued us at a difficult time. The resident became unsafe to stay in her own home due to mobility issues (mainly). Foxhunters were able to take her in the same day of enquiring.
I was very relieved. The whole process was smooth, staff are excellent and not only
care for the resident but me too. They are very friendly and make me feel welcome at any time.
My only negative comment is communication from staff to family - would like forwarding of appointments. I would like to be informed when the resident is going out so I don't visit when she is not there.

Overall, the assessment of Foxhunters is that they have high standards throughout. No criticism only observations on management and safety/security,
Passage of information initially was not constant but I put this down to new surroundings and staff learning the ropes.
Security - would suggest that
family and friends are not given key codes to doors as it may lead to complacency.
Would like to commend the chefs for their hard work and dedication.

The staff welcomed my Aunt with care compassion and thoughtfulness.

My daughters found me this wonderful care home, and being recently opened I was able to move in at very short notice.
It has been perfect from the moment I got here and when the summer comes I will be able to sit in the garden and listen to the water in the fountain. All the rooms are large and the
same size because the whole building is built for purpose, something that has so many hidden benefits.
Even my 'Alexa'' works and plays music while I go to sleep.................. bliss.

I started my career as a care assistant in 2005 working my way up to home manager. I eventually moved in to a regional role supporting homes all over the UK.


I am extremely excited to be able to support the wonderful team here at Foxhunters as well as ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional care to the ladies and gentlemen who live here.

I qualified as a Registered Nurse (Mental Health) in 1998, working for over 20 years in a secure hospital environment caring for adults detained under the Mental Health Act (1983). Although challenging at times, a very rewarding job culminating in opening up a small rehabilitation unit teaching life skills.


I joined Foxhunters when they opened and was thrilled to find a home where i can use my skills. I am passionate about delivering the best care possible to our ladies and gentlemen at Foxhunters and am proud to lead a fantastic team of experienced and skilled nurses.

I have worked in the catering and hospitality industry for many years and specifically in the care sector for over 10 years. I studied culinary arts and is my intention to use my experience and knowledge to provide the very best service to the people who have chosen to live in care. I only believe in using the very best produce and luckily Foxhunters is situated in the town of Abergavenny and we have the very best produce suppliers of South Wales.


I am excited to provide the very best food and service to the ladies and gentlemen who reside at the Foxhunters Care Community. There will be a wide range of excellent menus on offer, and I fully enjoy bakery and sugar-craft work, there will definitely be a lot of cakes and patisseries on offer in our Cwtch Cafe, daily.


The team I lead are equally as passionate as myself and I am excited to mentor the team to success and to provide the very best dining experience.

I have been working as an activity coordinator for nearly seventeen years now and have been at Foxhunters since we opened back in 2018. The team within Foxhunters is without a doubt the best, not only are they supportive and really try to get involved but they also assist in the delivery of activity and are always coming up with ideas that we can use to entertain our Ladies and Gentlemen.
Whilst I have been at Foxhunters, I have completed my level 3 in health and social care along with various other training delivered by Oomph, which has benefitted me greatly and given me the confidence to expand my ideas and try new things. I have developed my own training which focuses on the delivery of activity and how this can benefit the wider team.
I find it hugely satisfying being able to enrich the lives of our residents and make every day enjoyable.
