It is very disappointing that you made these comments - especially in light of the fact that your grandmother had only been in the home for a few short hours when you did so. During that time, she had enjoyed a gluten free meal and appeared to be very happy - chatting with staff and settling into her new environment. Staff had supported her to settle for the night, including having removed her hearing aids, when you visited the home at approximately 10 pm in an extremely agitated manner and behaved in an aggressive manner towards staff and another person living in the home. Staff had not shouted at her. The sensor mat on her bed was in good working order. Your comments are not a true reflection of the care afforded to your grandmother during her short stay with us in Brockington House

I am sorry that you are unhappy with aspects of the care and service in Brockington House. Your father appears content and if there is ever a concern raised by him, we always do our best to resolve the problem immediately. We provide him with foods that he has specifically requested and he joins in with activities that are on offer in the home including the Gentlemens Club which was established specifically with our gentlemen in mind. I would be happy to meet with you to discuss your concerns further and will write to you to arrange a meeting.

Hello, my name is Bev. I’m the Head of Houskeeper at Brockington House. My journey started in January 2020 as a housekeeper. After a few months, I was promoted to Deputy Head Housekeeper and 2 years ago I was promoted again to Head Housekeeper.
I absolutely love my job and meeting all the new Residents. It’s a fabulous place to work. All staff rights across the home are great, but I have to say that my Housekeeping Team are amazing.
