Thank you so much for your feedback about your mum's stay. We are thrilled to hear that your mum is happy here and that her health and mobility have improved since joining us. We understand your concerns regarding laundry. We have increased the size of our housekeeping team to address these issues, and we are pleased to see a significant improvement in this area. Regarding food, we always offer alternative menus to cater to individual dietary needs and preferences. We have also recently addressed the menus to ensure they are both nutritious and appealing.

Lesley says: “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. My focus is on making those moments matter for our residents.”
Lesley has spent her whole career in care, with her roles taking her from nurse training to owning her own business in domiciliary care. She joins Oakdale having managed other nursing homes, and dementia-specific homes and has also owned and operated domiciliary care agencies throughout the southwest of England.
She believes that being a strong team is important and that managers in care must be “everything and more” to their team, to residents and to their families.
