We had viewed many care homes in the area and Mountbatten Grange Care Home stood out as clearly the best suited to my father's needs. The customer care manager was extremely helpful, understanding and very patient while we considered all our options. All of the staff were extremely welcoming, kind and
caring. They were very flexible and responded quickly to any questions or issues we had.
The facilities are excellent, high quality and provide a very comfortable environment. There is also a good range of activities which my father was encouraged to take part in (without being pressured), but was also given space to have his own private time.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone.

I cannot rate Mountbatten Grange high enough! 5+++ stars.
From the moment we viewed the home we knew straight away it was perfect for our mum. Mum moved into Mountbatten Grange in December 2022 and already we can see such a difference in mum. She is so happy and well cared for.
All the staff, carers
and nurses understand all my mum's needs as an individual and care for her so well. The facilities are excellent, cinema room, hairdressers, lovely lounge areas for residents to share with their visitors, private dining room and coffee shop. The home is extremely clean, through the communal areas and mum's room which is a very high standard. Having viewed many care homes Mountbatten Grange is definitely number 1 in every aspect.
As a family, it's so reassuring to know mum is so happy and looked after so well. Thank you Mountbatten Grange!

We have been absolutely delighted with Mount Batten Grange and cannot recommend it highly enough. Their Customer Relation Manager has been outstanding from the very first interaction, helping to support the family and navigate our way around the care system and the transition from hospital back into
the community. The facilities are amazing and it really is like being in a 5-star hotel and every member of staff we have interacted with is helpful, patient and kind and we can relax knowing that our mum is being really well cared for. It is obvious that they genuinely care about their residents and their family which is unique.

This care home has been amazing. My grandma was there for just short of 2 weeks. The staff made her so comfortable along with myself and family. Through 1 of the toughest experiences anyone could go through, losing a loved one, they really did pull out all the stops and become a second family.

My mum spent her last 2 weeks at Mountbatten grange before sadly passing away. I could not ask for a better, caring environment for her to be in. All the staff go way beyond their duty to look after mum and us as a family. They kept me updated as I live 2 hours away. Would recommend the home to anyone
who is looking to put a loved one as they will be so cared for with so much respect. Thank you all so much for making my mum feel so loved.

This care home is the best care home I have found, my grandfather has been in four different care homes and Mountbatten Grange Care Home is the best care home I have ever been to.
My grandfather is a totally different man, the care staff and the management team are tip-top, no problem is too big for
them, they are the best.

My mum was in Mountbatten Grange for respite care, and she was made to feel so welcome and treated with love and kindness. Thanks to the staff, the food and the social activities, my mum thrived during her time in the home. The staff are happy to tailor activities to individuals' interests, and that
makes such a difference. My family (three young children and a dog) were always made to feel very welcome as visitors, and my children loved coming to visit their nanna there. A really lovely home that I would recommend.

My sister and I cannot rate this beautiful home highly enough. You enter the building to an oasis of calm and professionalism. Leadership is exceptional, and the staff are warm and friendly, with no questions/queries too much to answer. The care and kindness shown to Mum are just lovely to observe,
and the staff go beyond the call of duty to ensure she is safe. Mum, who will be 100 years old in 2023, is cared for and loved by not only her own family, which is so assuring because we recognise that the transition is not always easy.
Facilities are excellent, food choices amazing and rooms spacious and immaculate. Mum's great-granddaughter (5 years old) refers to Mountbatten Grange as GG's hotel! What better recommendation?

Mum joined Mountbatten Grange for respite care and to convalesce after a period in hospital. She was made to feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. The staff are excellent and genuinely caring. Everyone made a point of getting to know her personally, gently introducing her to other residents
and helping to allay her initial confusion. She settled quickly and was soon enjoying a great variety of daily activities, including several local trips out and about. Mountbatten Grange is spotlessly clean and well kept which makes for a very pleasant environment in comparison to many care homes. Mum has enjoyed the food and regained weight (intentionally and as recommended!). Personally, I felt enormously relieved to know she was safe and in good hands during her stay. The management team have been highly professional, responsive and flexible for which I am also grateful. Mum leaves healthier and considerably better. A big thank you to you all and an unstinting recommendation from us.

My stepmum never wanted to leave her home of 54 years but after a serious fall in May, it was clear she was struggling. When I visited her in hospital she said she didn't want to return home as she no longer felt safe. This took me by surprise, but she'd made up her mind. Her twin sister had moved
into Mountbatten Grange in January and had frequently told my stepmum how much she was enjoying life at the Grange. Her twin's enthusiasm, improved health and happiness were more than enough to convince my stepmum that she wanted to move. Respite care was quickly arranged and we were greeted at the entrance by her twin and many of the staff. No words can describe the joy and relief she experienced from day one. She speaks highly of the caring staff, loves the food and has plenty to do. Her daily worries have gone because the quality of care is exceptional. There were a few tears early on but, after 3 months, she considers Mountbatten Grange to be her new 'home' in every sense of the word.

My father stayed for 2 weeks respite care. He was admitted at very short notice for which I was so relieved and grateful. He was really well cared for by the lovely staff and looked like a new man after just 3 days. He had a great time and left much healthier than when he arrived. I always felt he was
very safe and that it was the right decision to move him into respite care for 2 weeks. If he needs further care in future we will be back.


My only reason for 4 stars, not 5, is that although the care was excellent he experienced some minor issues with the organisation of clothes washing, podiatry appt etc and I hope to discuss these at the next Mountbatten Grange meeting with families.

I visit my brother at least twice a week. I have always been impressed with how all staff have treated my brother. We were all very relieved when he was discharged from hospital and came back here. I have no criticism whatsoever about this care home.

Mum's advanced dementia meant that she could no longer be safely cared for at home as we all had wished. From the first meeting at Mountbatten Grange to the day Mum went to live in the home, we felt happy and relieved that Mum would finally be safe and really well cared for. The process of moving into
Mountbatten after all the trauma we had been through has been incredibly easy, from the happy and warm welcome from everyone to the labelling of Mum's clothes and introduction to her rooms. We were so pleased to see that all the staff, from management to the wonderful hands-on caters, everyone knew the residents' names and treats everyone with kindness and dignity, very much a family vibe in the home. Thank you all for this great start to the next part of Mum's journey.

Within a few minutes of our initial viewing/meeting at Mountbatten Grange we felt our requirements were fully understood. Never having been through this situation before, we were guided and advised with empathy and expertise. We appointed Mountbatten Grange within an hour. From this point, Mum was assessed
by the home staff the next day and moved into her new home within 3 days. The care being provided by the plentiful, always on-hand staff is excellent, attentive and very professional. No request is too much. The bedrooms are very high quality as are the shared areas. Amenities include a coffee lounge, cinema room with a small bar, family lounges with views of Windsor Castle and a hair salon. The outside spaces are well designed and maintained. An excellent experience from the start and ongoing through a difficult time for the family.

Mum was in Mountbatten Grange for respite care after a fall at home, initially for 2 weeks, but we extended it for another week as she was enjoying the care and support she was getting. She had a lovely time and is happy to know that she could return if she needs to. The staff were so helpful - Mum
came into the home with only a couple of days notice, and everyone was so friendly and caring. Mum thought it was like a 5* hotel! We would highly recommend this care home.

My elderly uncle was discharged from hospital but needed a week of respite care before returning home. The staff were very efficient, friendly and, more importantly, were able to give us all the information that we needed to make the transition easy for him and ourselves The room was spacious clean
and beautifully decorated. The staff dealing with him were excellent and took the time to talk to him. I would highly recommend this care home and wouldn't hesitate to use it again for respite or even full-time care if needed.

Job Title: Home Manager

I started my career in care in 2001 and joined the Care UK team in 2006. What really stands out for me about Mountbatten Grange is its homely atmosphere. Family members can visit whenever they want and are always guaranteed a lovely welcome.


My goal at work every day is to make sure every resident is happy and enjoying a stimulating, fulfilling life. I think the only way to achieve this is by making sure that each resident receives truly individualised care from people who’ve invested time in really getting to know them, their needs and their experiences. It’s also important to me that family members are happy with the care that their loved one is receiving. Getting great feedback from relatives is very rewarding for everyone on our team.


Outside of work I enjoy being outdoors, taking walks, going for bike rides and generally spending time in the countryside. Many residents enjoy spending time outdoors too, so we like to get out and about as much as possible, in the local area and also to the coast.
