My mother has been in care since April 2021 and has vascular dementia. She was frightened and anxious. The staff were so caring and reassured us that Mum will settle and she has. The best thing as a family, putting my mum in your care home.

Fantastic care. Staff all lovely and very attentive to all my mother's needs. She's very happy and content within the home for respite. It's her third time coming here and we can't fault them at all.

Very friendly and welcoming from all the staff. The manager sees that everything is carried out as it should be. The resident's safety is paramount and rigorous health checks are made to all visitors, also issued with PPE before entering the home. There is a most wonderful, easy atmosphere and this
is so helpful and comforting for anyone coming into the home to live. The staff do their very best to help newcomers to adjust easily to what must be a challenging change for them.

The care given to our dad during his time at The Chadwick has been excellent. We were always informed of any concerns the staff had about his wellbeing and how they were dealt with. The past year has been particularly difficult, but we always felt inclined in Dad's life through The Chadwick's Facebook
page and regular updates. Thank you for looking after our dad.

After being discharged from the hospital, my mum has been in respite care at The Chadwick for the last 3-weeks, two of which were in isolation due to the covid policy. The staff have been incredibly kind and caring, and my mum has settled well, which has been a great comfort to us. It is a huge relief
she is safe and well cared for during these times. It is difficult to rate each category fairly as have only been in once due to the lockdown but have based it on what I have seen and heard from my mum.

Mum was placed at The Chadwick initially for emergency respite care due to having to leave her home as a result of challenging circumstances. She had experienced lots of trauma and was in a very fragile/vulnerable state when she arrived. I have been in close contact with management from the start and
they were very understanding, supportive and empathetic to Mum’s case and have done everything in their power to help us both. Updates are frequent and regular and Covid procedures are robust and I feel that Mum is not at any risk. I was made to feel like I was immediately welcome, a priority and that nothing was too much of a task. Mum’s condition has improved exponentially she is happy, comfortable and positive about her experience and as a result we have decided to choose them as a provider for long-term care. They have shown genuine sensitivity and professionalism; I implore you not to take the CQC rating at face value; I initially had concerns but they have proved their service is excellent.

Much improved compared to the last year when we had concerns about the management in particular provision of skin medication. The staff has done a brilliant job during the COVID-19 pandemic. My mother finds it difficult to partake in activities due to deafness and macular degeneration of eyesight.

The home and especially two members of staff have been particularly kind and caring not only to myself under extremely difficult circumstances but more importantly to my 100-year-old great aunt. Unfortunately, she has been unwell through lockdown (not Covid-19 related) and has been in and out of hospital.
The carers have shown real humility towards us both at this difficult time and nothing has been too much trouble. I could not have asked for better care for auntie as I am not able to visit because of Coronavirus.

Staff are kind and caring in their approach and friendly to visitors. I think they have done a great job under the very difficult coronavirus circumstances. I appreciated the fact that they ordered a special mattress for Mum to try to make her more comfortable. As a newish building, everywhere looks
clean, bright and airy. Am aware that the new management team are keen to make improvements since the last inspection (under the previous manager).

My mum is always well cared for and gets along with the staff very well. Mum is always clean, and her room is also tidy and clean. I feel mum is happy, and when she has a low day, the staff seem to help her along. The food is very good, and all the areas seem to be clean for the residents to use. I
know they do activities for the residents that are optional. In general, I am pleased with mums care!

I can only agree with the recent assessment from the CQC of “requires improvement".
“The total lack of communication with family members was deplorable". There was no phone contact, email or letters of concerns regarding my elderly father and an important letter was sent incorrectly to the wrong
address. It purports to provide specialist dementia care, however, now my father is settled into another care home, and the considerable shortcomings of the care provided at The Chadwick are evident.

Poor communication and lack of care - Dad was there 7 days and had an aggressive behaviour and refused Insulin for 2 days. Sent to hospital only to be told they may not have him back for the safety of residents and staff. There was no contact to us, the family, for updates on Dad. We were told by the
hospital that The Chadwick were not going to have him back but this was not mentioned to us by The Chadwick. He was kept on so to get a month of money off us and the council. I went and took his clothes out of the room which had not been cleaned or bed made, since he left for the hospital, after three weeks.

I always enjoy visiting. The staff are professional, patient and most importantly jolly. If they cheer me up I know that they must be a safe pair of hands for the residents.

My mother seems to have settled well at the Chadwick and although she does not class herself as "happy" she says she is "content" (which is great). I have not rated three areas i.e. Food and drink, activities as my visits very rarely coincide with those times; and I do not deal with my mother's finances,
so cannot comment.

Manpreet joined The Chadwick in April 2022. Before this, she has had significant experience in health and social care, beginning her career in 2013 as a Care Assistant. Since then, she has had experience in many different roles; Care Team Manager, Deputy Manager, and Care Manager. As well as her significant experience, Manpreet has developed her care knowledge and leadership skills, achieving a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care. Manpreet believes that B&M has encouraged her personal and professional growth through training, and the many opportunities for development within the company that have advanced her career. She is excited to be part of the team who go above and beyond to support their residents.
