Lighthouse Lodge understands the importance of a well-balanced and nutritious diet and therefore, a carefully selected team produces home-cooked meals onsite daily. Crafted with care and attention, the menu incorporates resident’s preferences and cultural or dietary requirements.

Friends & family can join residents' for meals if there have been prior arrangements.

Their very own in-house lifestyle and wellbeing team organise daily schedules filled with activities and outings. My aunt has recently moved into Lighthouse Lodge. The staff are showing care and kindness in helping her adjust to living there. I am impressed with the high standard of furnishing and facilities and the homely, welcoming environment. Whilst visiting, I have observed the staff being very perceptive
to the needs of the individual and developing good friendly, relationships with residents. To date, my aunt has had opportunity to enjoy events planned by the entertainments team including events outside the care home and I feel this is helping her as she settles into her new lifestyle.

Moving Mum into full-time care was distressing. However, with the help of the staff and Management of Lighthouse Lodge, it was made easier.
Mum is living in excellent comfort, treated with dignity and respect. All with the knowledge of being looked after with excellent care and compassion. The staff
are marvellous, she’s made friends and loves the salon that’s on site for her still to look and feel nice which she always did when she wasn’t in care. I couldn’t recommend Lighthouse Lodge enough. Knowing my Mum is being looked after so well is priceless.

I can say without hesitation all the staff are excellent in their approach.
The building/apartments are superlative.

I am very pleased and content with my 2 week's respite care.
All aspects of the care have been very good indeed.
The only small (very small) comment I make is that as a '5-a-day' man I would have liked to have seen a bowl of fruit in the dining room.

My mother in law has been a resident of the Lighthouse Lodge for six weeks and when I visit the home I find that all the staff and management team are very friendly and helpful. The facilities of the home and en-suite bedrooms are beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. Mum is treated with care
and dignity and is taking part in social activities provided by the Lighthouse Lodge. The chef and kitchen staff provide well-balanced meals and always ask Mum if she has any food preferences which is very helpful.

This is my first experience of a care home and this home has only been opened for three weeks and I am very impressed. I came in for two weeks respite care and it has worked.

Dad settled in well thanks to the wonderful care and attention he has received from all staff. They have really made an effort to get to know Dad as a person and they treat him with respect. The facilities are superb, building, lounges with sea views, great food (which is also plentiful). Thank you.

My father is being cared for not only professionally but with the greatest of respect ensuring dignity at all times, he is receiving companionship and the best of attention by every member of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and the attention to detail is excellent.
My dad has all the comforts
of his own home enjoying his music and TV within his own room when the mood takes him he can enjoy the spacious lounge.
The accommodation is of the highest standard.
Mealtimes is an event always welcomed with anticipation, the cakes and biscuits are special!
Most importantly my dad enjoys living at Lighthouse Lodge.

My family faced a unique situation, in needing to relocate my father from Canada to a care home on the Wirral. From our first phone call with Lighthouse Lodge, I suspected we had found the right place for him. Four weeks later, when we finally walked through the front doors of the Lodge and met the
team in person, I knew we had found the right place.


The home manager and her staff are a credit to the elderly care industry… every member of staff is engaging, courteous and goes out of their way to make a connection with both the family members and the residents. In addition, the Lodge itself is magnificent – the rooms are clean, warm, bright and spacious and the common areas offer a welcoming “just like home” environment.


I’ve continued to be impressed with the quality of communication since returning to Canada. I am relaxed knowing that Dad is living in a comfortable environment, where his every need is tended to. I cannot recommend the Lodge and its staff highly enough.

The Lighthouse Lodge a palace of luxury for those seeking care.


Decorated to the highest standard, rooms spacious and modern, a wet room to envy in most private houses. Food of the highest quality, catering for all tastes in pleasant dining areas.


Comfortable lounge areas outside resident's rooms

and superb top floor views overlooking the River Mersey.


Above all - the staff - how the Athena Group have managed to obtain such a professional, caring staff, both to residents and guests is a true credit.


I am deeply indebted to the staff for being so considerate to my 91-year-old Mother, giving her a prolonged lease of life and would recommend the Athena Group and Lighthouse Lodge to anyone who wishes for the best quality of care in their latter years.

If you are looking for a very high standard of care and understanding and want your loved ones to live as full a life as their health allows, then this is the care home for you.
My mum is not in the best of health and can't do much for herself, although she is encouraged to do what she can and this
is what she wants.
All the staff are so lovely and caring and in only just over one week have developed a great level of understanding of my mum's needs and nothing is too much trouble for them.
In closing, I would like to thank all at Lighthouse Lodge in New Brighton for the great level of care they have given my mum and the support for the rest of my family.

I joined my wife in this care home having been transferred from another home some miles away. Since I arrived, I have been delighted with the support and care received, much better than the home I left. I find all the staff very polite, helpful and they treat me with dignity and kindness all the time.
Nothing is too much trouble and I have been treated like a member of a family.


The staff work as a close team and I feel totally spoilt by the care and understanding they have of my needs. The decor and furnishings are of outstanding quality, but extremely comfortable, a true home from home. My family are welcomed with open arms, with a cuppa, cake and a kind word.

This is my first experience of being a resident in a care home and I find I am delighted with everything received. I was particularly stressed when I arrived and found the staff exceedingly good to me and my feelings at that time. Quality of service is so good, I would recommend the care here to everyone.
There is first class attention to detail for everyone and extreme kindness. The staff have become part of my family, they are so attentive to my needs.


The food is served well and always beautifully cooked. All staff from the cleaners to the manager are so attentive and courteous to all my needs. The standard of decoration is outstanding. What more could anyone wish?

Job Title: Registered Lodge Manager

As Home Manager, I am proud and privileged to work at Lighthouse Lodge and to have been given the opportunity to work in a career that I love. Having worked in care for 20 years, I have progressed within my role as a Home Manager by gaining qualifications to achieve The Registered Managers Award and Level 4 in Adult Social Care.


As well as gaining experience working with the elderly, including those living with Dementia, I have discovered a great passion for helping provide an excellent standard of care in all aspects of the care sector.


At Lighthouse Lodge, we offer a welcoming home with a range of high-quality amenities and activities. We like to make sure our residents’ opinions are voiced and heard, encouraging all staff and residents to bring new ideas for us to include in our programme of care to improve well-being and help build friendships to ensure you continue to live your life to the full.

Job Title: Lodge Service Advisor

I am the Lodge Service Adviser for Athena Healthcare Group at Marine View Lodge and Lighthouse Lodge, Wirral. I provide families with information required when considering a care home for their relative. The first point of contact and advise enquirers about the different types of care we provide, our Lodge features and the process involved for a relative moving into our Care Homes.


Enjoy showing families around the Lodges and answering any questions they may have, I assist them right up to admission of their relative and am always on hand thereafter. I love meeting families, prospective residents and helping to make the move into our Care Homes the best experience it can be.


My role also involves building relationships in the community working with organisations, businesses, charities etc and providing information in relation to the care provided at Athena Healthcare.


I enjoy spending time with my family, and I love dogs. I enjoy walking my dog, Buddy.
