On the whole, a good care home. However, extremely expensive and staffing levels, at times, not high enough. More attention needs to be paid to retention of staff. Dignity and respect are always displayed but more attention needs to be given to encouraging routine where possible and documenting sleep
patterns, fluid intake. For dementia patients/clients, more attention needs to be given to encouraging fluids when the person is unable to initiate this.

To help ensure that our residents have had adequate fluid intake we have regular fluid rounds and encourage residents to drink frequently throughout the day and night. I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the outstanding care my mum has received at Bothwell Castle. From the moment she arrived, the staff have been nothing short of excellent. Their genuine care and compassion have made a huge lifestyle change for my mum. The team goes above and beyond for everyone
and they are attentive, patient and always ready with a smile. My mum also receives excellent medical and emotional care. Everyone is so welcoming and they always stop to say hello and give updates. The activities are thoughtfully planned and engaging. The staff's dedication to creating a positive and homely atmosphere is evident in everything they do.
I highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a place where their loved ones will be treated with the utmost respect and kindness. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making such a positive impact on my mum's life!

The staff are exceptional, they keep us up to date regularly on my mum's progress and well-being. They understand all of my mum's needs are a very quick to respond. The home is clean and clear of any obstruction, giving us peace of mind knowing our mum is now in a safe environment.
My mum is happy
and content and encouraged to take part in most of the activities.

Feel my dad is safe and cared for. Requires encouragement to eat/drink often however staffing levels do not always allow time for this. Many staff show care and attention not only to my dad but to the whole family.

I viewed many care homes before Bothwell Castle - none came anywhere close to here and Dad has only been here a few weeks and we have not been disappointed! Every member of staff goes out of their way to make sure Dad has everything he needs in every way. They are super helpful and as a family, we have
got to know them well and feel very comfortable and reassured that Dad is being well looked after. They are well on the ball regarding Dad's diabetes too and are doing everything they can to help Dad settle in.

The home provided everything we expected and more. My father-in-law is taking a bit of time to settle in and all the staff are encouraging him to join in.

My aunt has settled well into Bothwell Castle, having been diagnosed with dementia in April of this year. She, herself, despite her condition, is full of praise for the staff and although she still speaks of going home, is undistressed and calm. Auntie says, herself, "I've been in a few hospitals so
I know what I'm talking about!"

I feel the care home serves a good service, they provide activities if the residents choose to take part. The staff are friendly and are very caring.
My relative seems to have settled and can't praise the staff highly enough, she is well fed and happy in her surroundings.

Our mum has settled well and the whole care team, including domestic, are always caring and patient with Mum as well as ourselves. This is a great comfort to our family and we can see Mum is being well cared for in all aspects of her care and mental well-being.
Mum is now more confident in getting
involved in the activities and often tells us she loves getting her hair done and the concerts, singing and dancing.
We are made to feel very welcome when we visit Mum and the management and care team are always open to any of our suggestions and listen and alleviate any concerns we have.

An excellent care home. The staff are all very caring from management down to cleaning and laundry staff who looked after my friend with exceptional care. My friend was a long-term resident and during all that time all her needs were met in full. Her weekly visits to the hairdressing salon was a highlight.
The
nursing care, particularly in the last few months, has been exceptional. I would have no hesitation in recommending Bothwell Castle to anyone looking for a care home for their loved one.

Excellent care home, one of the best homes I've seen. Lovely, caring staff from management, reception, carers and kitchen staff. The only blip has been the electricity issue earlier in the year which was a great concern and hopefully, this has been addressed and won't occur again. Keep up the good work.
(My mum does ask for perhaps more trips outside the home, even over to a coffee shop would be good).

Overall, the care home is great and the residents are looked after very well. Unfortunately, our mother has had two falls in the last two months which has been worrying. The staff are wonderful but don't have eyes on the back of their head and can't be everywhere. We are trusting that the manager and
the team are doing all they can to take care of Mum as she covers. The staff are committed and there is never a shortage of cuddles which is really important for our elders.

All the staff we came into contact with were very helpful and pleasant. My relative was nicely dressed and was in the sitting area with other clients. The home was very clean and tidy. Has good security for clients. Overall, happy with the care my relative is getting.
