Bothwell Castle Care Home is a purpose-built 75-bed care facility situated on Bothwell Road in Uddingston, Lanarkshire.

Arranged over three floors, Bothwell Castle Care Home offers private, spacious bedrooms each with an ensuite wet room.

I was apprehensive initially. Taking my father from the family home and installing him in an unfamiliar environment was a decision which took us a long time to come to. We visited many homes, both in Glasgow and Lanarkshire. Bothwell Castle Care Home appealed immediately. There is a sense of calm and
quiet unhurriedness. Staff are professional and pleasant. The food is delicious and the decor is tasteful and well-maintained. The entertainment is first-class. My father has settled very well.

We are very happy with the care our mum receives at Bothwell Castle Care Home. Mum always looks smart on our visits. Staff are welcoming and always ready to answer any questions we may have. The atmosphere is calm and not all stressful. There are always lots of activities on offer to engage our mum.

Excellent level of care and support provided. My father is treated with the best level of dignity. Always plenty of activities in a secure environment. Super facilities, always very clean and tidy in his room. Great value for money. Staff are very helpful and caring.

The welcome when I enter the home is very warming and pleasant.

My mother moved into Bothwell Castle Care Home at the end of August and initially was not very settled. The staff worked hard to try and put her at ease and get to know her likes and dislikes and kept in touch with me regularly to update me during what was a difficult period. My mother has, as a result,
settled well and now wants to sit in the living room, obviously feeling comfortable in the company of the staff and other residents. I have continued to be reassured by the ongoing care and attention she receives. She has started to eat more enthusiastically now that the staff are more aware of the foods she prefers. All in all, I am satisfied with the care my mum is receiving. She seems as happy as I could expect her to be, given she has dementia and in care.

My gran has really settled the last few months. The staff always speak really fondly of her and she is always happy to see them.
Anything as a family we ask, the staff always ensure this is followed up. The only thing I feel there could be more interaction with activities on the first floor as this
is what suits my gran's personality.

I was attending a birthday celebration for my mum in the care home. The carers were extremely helpful and attentive to every aspect of the day. The dining room was beautifully presented for the guests that attended and everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable day.
It was such a treat to hear my mum's laughter.

Mum has really settled into Bothwell Caelte. She loves all the entertainment - they have about twice a week. The staff are brilliant, they are so friendly and there to help if and when we need them.

With the additional member of the activities staff, hopefully, more activities within the home.
Maybe at least monthly a theme day with a 'take away' for the residents.
Agency staff is a concern, especially at weekends. Hopefully, this will improve with additional members of staff in the future.

My sister moved back to Scotland from Australia to be near to family. She has been diagnosed with mixed dementia and had no family left in Australia. She moved into Bothwell Castle in April and the staff have made her and all her family very comfortable. They have made sure she is safe and consulted
with the family if any concerns. The staff are excellent and can't do enough to help my sister and family.

My sister has been a resident for 5 months and the care and devotion of the staff has been very impressive. The staff keep abreast of my sister's illness and deterioration and responds quickly, compassionately and attentively to each change to ensure her happiness and safety at all times.
The number
one priority in the home is the safety and well-being of their residents and this is shown by all the staff, from housekeeping to the managers and everyone else in between. Everyone is welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much bother.
The facilities and surroundings are impressive, well-maintained and accessible to residents and visitors. The bedrooms are calming and individualised to each resident.
The well-being and activities programmes are amazing and there is always something going on, whether it is inside or out, it is catered and tailored to meet the needs of all the residents.
It is peace of mind that our sister is in a secure, safe, happy and compassionate environment.

All the staff have been kind and helpful from the start and nice to see the friendly welcome that my sister received and the reassurance that they have given her to help her to settle into her new surroundings. The home has provided regular updates on my sister's health and well-being and the communication
from the local surgery was excellent. The members of her family who have visited her have all been impressed by the high levels of care and attention so far to my sister and her visitors.

There are so many lovely folk to mention when illustrating the care my mum receives at Bothwell Castle.
The care is beyond our expectations. Making sure Mum's medical and personal needs are always met is of the highest importance.
Over the past year, Mum's condition has deteriorated and the care staff
have provided the essential care required to make sure she is comfortable and happy.
Mum is always well-groomed and her room is spotlessly fresh and clean.
The staff are incredible.
From the welcome at reception, dealing with care staff, nurses, etc. It's really impressive.
They are all a credit to your business.
I do have to mention two members of staff with regard to my mum, she has a unique bond with these ladies.
Something very wholesome about visiting Mum and finding staff singing country songs with my mum while she cleans her room. Love that.
The peace of mind my family feels knowing Mum is always under the very best care 24 hours a day is priceless.

I have found all staff and managers very friendly, helpful and professional. I live down south and the staff keep me updated with any illnesses and problems that occur. The home is kept immaculate and is beautifully furnished.

The care given to my mother has been good; however, the communication has been very poor. Our family have been unaware of certain significant changes to my mother's care as well as her general health and well-being due to this lack of communication.

My relative has been a resident within Bothwell Castle through the covid pandemic and although there were positive cases within the home, did not contract covid. Guidelines were strictly adhered to, but with their compassionate approach, the home dealt with the pandemic in a very considered way. There
has been a high turnover of staff and management with agency staff introduced, however, with new additional staff being introduced, positive changes are already noticeable. Family are regularly kept up to date and family meetings show transparency and responsibility. The staff go over and beyond and it's very much noticed and appreciated. Keep up the good work and well done.

I was originally over at Canniesburn Care Home before it closed for refurbishment. I was asked to come over to Bothwell for a couple of weeks to help with Admin cover and I have been here ever since.


I love my role her at Bothwell Castle, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, their is a great atmosphere around the place.
I also enjoy interacting with the residents and getting to know them a bit better and meeting their family members.


Fun Fact about me- I did a sky dive for charity about 5 years ago which was totally amazing.
