Located in the leafy, upmarket area of Stoneygate, Graysford Hall is the premium choice in residential care in Leicester. Mum has absolutely flourished at Graysford Hall. We trialled for an initial 2 weeks respite and Mum was so happy the move has become permanent. First-class facilities, a great range of activities, excellent catering but most of all a wonderful team of caring staff.

Very welcoming as soon as I went in with my wife I was greeted by the care manager and introduced to some of the residents. My room was first-class, spacious and it was more like a luxury hotel but being looked after by a good caring team. The food was excellent and the activities were well arranged
to suit all tastes and abilities. I would recommend this home to anyone who needs respite or permanent care.

Relocating mum to a new home began online. We then made appointments to view several possible homes in and around the area. Graysford Hall was streets ahead of all the others, ticking all the boxes we had listed. Comfort, care, polite staff and management. Light, excellent decor. The ability for ma
to make friends. Lovely fresh cooked meals. Our family can now say we have peace of mind that she is safe as we are scattered around the UK. Mum's delighted to be living in Graysford Hall. Stayed at Graysford for two weeks respite. Absolutely first class. Great staff, chefs, the whole team. The food was excellent, couldn't fault it. I enjoyed the activities and meeting new people. We would definitely come back here if we had to.

Moving care homes was a big decision to make but one which my father and the family never regretted. We are particularly impressed that although all members of Graysford Hall staff have separate roles they all work together as a unified team seeking to provide the best care for all residents.

My father was initially accepted for a weeks trial to ascertain his dementia needs. The home extended his stay by a further week after which he was accepted as a full-time resident. The staff are always extremely efficient and friendly; whenever I call for an update on my father, it's never too much
trouble to put me through to a member of staff to inform me about his well being. He absolutely adores his food and enjoys sitting in the cinema room watching car restoration programmes. Graysford Hall is of a very high standard with extremely spacious and beautifully designed bedrooms, which can be personalised by each resident. What would be an idea for the home to consider is to send a weekly update to a nominated family member either via email or letter. This could include a brief description of daily events, food consumed, activities performed, showered etc. This would be beneficial to families whose relatives have dementia. To conclude; Graysford Hall is simply stunning with excellent facilities and outstanding staff.

My mother enjoyed her two-week stay so much she wanted to stay longer. She is now looking forward to going again. She enjoyed the daily activities and was full of praise for the staff - nothing was too much trouble. She had a healthy appetite for 94 years old and especially enjoyed the fresh fruit salad
and a glass of prosecco!

Mum settled well for a two-week respite stay. The care staff were very kind and patient with her and always respectful.
We were able to visit outside her room and talk to her through a partly open window. There were no time limits to our visits, and although mum was mystified by why we were outside,
we could tell she was pleased to see us.
The management was flexible and allowed us to extend her stay at short notice. We were disappointed that it wasn't possible to have a more relaxed meeting with mum in the garden but recognise the constraints of managing a care home during the lockdown in the area.
We communicated with many care workers and management staff during the visit and occasionally felt that messages hadn't been passed on. It would have been useful to have had one key link worker to communicate daily information, both from and to us. Simple things like when she left, when if at all had she had a bath or shower? any medical issues? chiropody appointment, activities enjoyed.

Short term resident due to a broken ankle on right leg. Left leg very weak so hoist etc required. Diet should be more closely monitored as very large weight gain does not help recovery.

My mum has just stayed here for two weeks following an operation. We knew about Graysford Hall after attending the Open Day and it looked fabulous and so Mum was keen to go here for respite. We couldn’t have chosen a better place and they far exceeded our expectations in every way. They are so kind,
caring and thoughtful and it was such a relief for me to know that Mum was happy and safe. Everyone from carers, cleaners, gardeners, chef and admin introduced themselves to her and couldn’t do enough for her. My mum has said the food was excellent and they easily dealt with her egg allergy, cooking special alternatives. They have handled COVID professionally and sensibly, Mum was tested and quarantined for two days pending results and although I wasn’t allowed into the place, I could see her and speak to her from her private patio wearing a mask and socially distancing. I regularly visit friends and relatives in different care homes in Leicester and would move them all here if I could!

At a very difficult time for us as a family, Graysford Hall met all our requirements to give our mum the best possible care. They have shown tolerance, empathy and respect which has afforded our mother the dignity she deserves in the last years of her life. The support for us as a family has been excellent
and I would happily recommend Graysford Hall to anyone considering care for a relative. It does not matter how nice a place looks if the ethos within it is wrong, however, the caring, supportive ethos of all the staff shines through like a beacon, making this a wonderful place for our mum. I visited my friend who has been staying here for some weeks. What a beautiful place and such friendly staff. I was invited to have lunch and had a thoroughly lovely day. It was so nice to see my friend being so well looked after.

We had lunch with our friends. OK. It was a lovely meal served in a small annexe of the dining room. The staff, from going in, to coming out were so pleasant, caring and helpful. It was a very enjoyable experience.

This home took my parents at short notice and were thoroughly helpful and professional throughout. This is a new home and is finished to an extremely high standard. All the staff are first-class people and are prepared to go the extra mile to see to residents' needs. I have been particularly impressed

Mum was due to stay at Graysford Hall for a two-week respite stay following discharge from hospital, but unfortunately only got to stay for two nights as she had to go back to hospital. I say unfortunately because Graysford Hall is so lovely, I was looking forward to her enjoying her stay - so much
so that I thought she might even like to live there. Put it this way, I cried when I was shown around during a pre-stay meeting - every elderly person deserves a care home of this standard. Not just the gorgeous decor, etc. but the care and attention of the staff.
The communication with the home pre and during the stay was so helpful and reassuring during what was a very stressful time. The personalised welcome was a lovely touch for Mum and there was nothing that was too much trouble - for Mum, me or my seven-year-old, who was treated to a private cinema screening with popcorn whilst we got Mum settled in. Mums back home now, which isn’t going so well so Graysford Hall may well still be her next home.

'Wow' amazing, brilliant staff are fantastic. My mom stayed in for two weeks whilst we were on vacation. She was so happy and on our return, the staff including the chef, were there to say goodbye. Bal has worked in the social care industry for around 20 years, and has progressed throughout her career with various positions starting as a Carer, then becoming a Senior Care/ care team Leader, followed by recent posting of the Deputy Manager hereat at Graysford Hall.


Within Bal's roles, being driven, and hard-working is what helps strive her team. Bal enjoys the social aspect of working in Social Care as you get to meet different people from all walks of life.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, going for walks and travelling.


Jayne

Jayne Hill

Job Title: Wellbeing Lead

Joined: 2020

Jayne started working in Care 15 years ago for the Private Sector. Having quickly established a good relationship with a lady with Alzheimer's disease ignited Jayne's interest and passion for caring for those with dementia. Jayne started working in Nursing homes and worked her way up to the Senior Carer level, however, when an opening for an activities-focused role came along she stepped in at the request of her residents. She has been doing this ever since for a total of 8 years.


Kavita

Kavita Patel

Job Title: Administrator

Kavita has spent the last 2 years in Business Admin roles and has completed her NVQ 2 in Business Administration. She thoroughly enjoyed her previous work as a Domiciliary care worker, where she provided care to the elderly in her community.


With her knowledge of both admin and care work, Kavita brings with her valuable experience which is sure to make her a great asset to the team at Graysford Hall.


Rachel

Rachel Pallatt

Job Title: Head Chef

Rachel has been a Chef for 26 years and has worked in a variety of roles from high street restaurants, all the way through to care homes. Rachel was a Chef Manager at Samworth Brothers for circa 13 years. All this knowledge has populated Rachel's experience to bring to Graysford Hall.


What Rachel enjoys the most about Graysford is having the opportunity to meet so many different people from such different backgrounds - "they all have such amazing stories to tell and it would be easy to sit and listen to them all day!"


Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending time with family, including six grandchildren. She also spends a lot of spare time at the local church and supports them with activities whenever possible.
