We had a bit of a shaky start, to begin with, as we all settled in. I think this was due to the lack of leadership from the previous manager. The staff seemed in low spirits and seemed disheartened. But the management that are running the home now - we could not have faulted them. I have to say the
care and attention we all received as a family was excellent. Whilst our mom was at the end of her life, they allowed us all to say goodbye in a dignified, respectful way. And the care they gave to us all, was great. Thank you all.

Staff are so caring and looked after my mom so well. From the start, Mom was hard work for staff because of her attitude but they were patient and won her over and it was pure pleasure from thereon. Mom was there approx 3 months and she was so well looked after. And when my mom passed, she was respected
in death the same as in life. The manager made it also easy to handle too which we as a family are so grateful for. Thank you to all the staff, god bless you.

My nana had been taken into the farmstead a couple of months ago and I visited on days off and on the weekends. The staff were welcoming and friendly. In the last few days when nana was very very poorly, nothing was too much to ask for. They ensured that she was comfortable, pain-free and as we stayed
with her, we were offered food, drinks and support. They went above and beyond and when nana passed, they all came in to say goodbye and offered their condolences. We have even been offered coffee and cake if we want a chat at any point. So glad to have such lovely memories for the last memories with my nana. The manager and two members of staff, in particular, deserve special recognition and so much thanks for everything they have done. Thank you again for all that you have done guys.

My mother-in-law has settled well into a bright, airy home with amazing care. The staff provide through personal care and enjoys. She drinks and eats well; helping her as necessary. It is a testament to the tasty meals that she is eating well and enjoys her meals. There is a very active activities coordinator,
and so far, my mother-in-law has gone to the inhouse cinema, completed artwork, participated in quizzes and gardened. She has also been given a lovely memory book of family photos made by the said coordinator.

My mum has been here since 25/2/21 and has settled in very well. We are very impressed by the home and the staff and feel very fortunate to have chosen it to care for my mum. When I left after a visit today, I really did feel that I was getting to know the place, it now feels like her proper home. Thank

While my mother has been in the home I feel she has received excellent care. The staff are always very friendly and willing to chat. Rooms are clean and comfortable, the new activities lady is very good lots of new ideas. Residents enjoying and engaging.

Farmstead is a great place for my mum to stay because the nurses and carers are kind, they talk to the residents with respect and take great care of them. They will answer any queries or concerns you may have, and the management will also take time to discuss your relatives needs.

My dad has been an 'enablement' resident for three weeks following a period in hospital. Dad has been well supported in his recovery by the whole team at The Farmstead. The standard of cleanliness is exceptional and the rooms are well provisioned. The food is good, the care is friendly, professional
and compassionate and dad has been happy here. I am happy to recommend The Farmstead.

My dad has been well looked after, they arrange several activities but given the majority of residents are female, he is resistant to join in which is not their fault they do try to encourage and include him. They keep you informed of falls, vaccinations, dentist visits or any other problems. Overall,
the staff are very attentive and kind to the residents.

My Dad has been a resident at The Farmstead since April 2019. As soon as Dad visited The Farmstead he decided this is where he wanted to live. Initially Dad went to The Farmstead for 4 weeks respite, however, he made it very clear within a couple of days that this is where he wanted to stay permanently.
My Dad is very happy and the staff are helpful, friendly and professional. The standard of cleanliness is exceptional and all the rooms are furnished to a very high standard. Residents are encouraged to bring personal possessions/photographs etc to make their room their home. The staff all know the residents by name and treat them all with the utmost respect. I have complete peace of mind that Dad is well looked after and the staff always put the needs/requests of the residents first. I wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending The Farmstead to anyone looking for Residential or Nursing Care for a family member.

Hi, I am Karen and I am the Registered Manager of Telford Hall. I have extensive experience in the care sector. Over the course of 34 years, I have garnered invaluable experience working across various roles, including management positions in both large-scale and boutique operations.


Assuming the role of Manager at Telford Hall Care Home fills me with immense pride. Collaborating with Sandstone Care, I am thrilled to contribute to providing unparalleled care and support to our residents. It's a privilege to play a part in shaping services and assistance for our elderly community, ensuring they receive the quality of care we would all desire if faced with diminished independence. Witnessing the joy and laughter of our residents is truly the most rewarding aspect of my work.

Kevin Fellows

Job Title: Head Chef

Joined: 2018

Meet Kevin our head chef.


Kevin has been here at Telford Hall since we opened our doors in 2018 and has managed to implement his amazing menus since then.


He has a wealth of experience in the industry and has built an amazing team here.


He has recently attended the IDDSI Level 4 training program, which provides practical advice and recipe ideas to help residents who have a serious swallowing disorder called dysphagia.


Maria

Maria Armstrong

Job Title: Activities Co-ordinator

Joined: 2021

Maria joined in April 2021 as Telford Hall's dedicated Activities Coordinator.


She has worked in the care industry for many years and has great relationships with people in the community and community leaders, including Raj Mehta, Mayor of the Borough of Telford and Wrekin.


Maria is one of our biggest assets and a firm favourite. She provides positive, engaging and meaningful activities to the residents.


She holds support groups on a Monday for residents with dementia which have proved very successful. She also provides weekly exercise classes to keep residents moving to the best of their ability.


Maria enjoys assisting residents in being as independent as possible and helping them reach their goals, whatever they may be.


Maria is always a happy, friendly and smiley person and the residents all appreciate her wonderful activities and trips out into the community.


Tracy

Tracy Broomhall

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Joined: 2019

Tracy is one of our nurses here at Telford Hall and shares our passion for the job she does.


She has been a qualified nurse since 2007 and has built up a wealth of knowledge in that time.


She has over 13 years experience of working in a hospice and brought her skills to us in 2019.


She is a mother of 2 daughters and an avid crafter.
