The Review Score of 9.1 (9.064) out of 10 for Pendle Brook Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.
The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
The Average Rating of 4.264 for Pendle Brook Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (94 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (8 Poors x 2) + (10 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 140 Ratings = 4.264
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').
The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Pendle Brook Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.9
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have worked at Bank Hall Care Home for over 5 years, I first came as an administration the I was promoted to Office Manager.
And since June 2020, I work as Pendle Brook's Deputy Manager.
I have completed my Level 2 in Business Administration and NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
I worked as a Senior Care Assistant at Bank Hall when needed to gain further experience and insight in health and social care.
Job Title: Activity Coordinator
Joined: 2020
Before joining Pendle Brook, I previously ran a children’s activity/party business and I quite often went into care homes and ran activities with the residents.
I found the whole experience incredibly rewarding, so I was keen to get involved when the role of activities coordinator came up at Pendle Brook.
I find working with the residents living with dementia particularly rewarding and love to see their faces come to life through singing and dancing.
As a children’s entertainer, I am very keen to get children involved in the residents' lives as much as possible, through inviting them to take part in joint activities, singing, gardening, games and arts and craft.
“Intergenerational work is very important to me”.
I am an avid keep fit fan and am currently swimming the length of the English Channel and back, a distance of 44 miles over 12 weeks.
I also enjoy dancing, body combat (mixed martial arts) and weight training.
I am a dog lover and enjoy nothing more than walking my Golden Labrador Sam, out in the beautiful countryside in Lancashire.
I also enjoy dining out, trips to the theatre, cinema and bingo.
People often ask me why I chose social care… and my answer is always the same. It’s very rewarding, I thoroughly enjoy making a difference to the lives of residents.
My thinking is “I want to make every day special, so tell me what you enjoy and I’ll try and make it happen”
I would have to say that the favourite part of my job, without a doubt would be the singing and dancing with the residents living with dementia.
