Horsell Lodge is located on the outskirts of the delightful village of Horsell. The home is built to the latest care standards offering dementia, residential and nursing care on a permanent and short stay basis. The home prides itself on providing exceptional care in the best possible surroundings with a focus on person-centred care, clinical excellence and family values, including professional physiotherapy sessions.

There are many different enticing spaces to relax in such as the bistro and quiet lounges dotted around the home, as well as a cinema and hair salon. With beautifully landscaped gardens and wind-proof glazed balconies providing outdoor seating all year round.

They are proud to be part of the only care home group to have their own unique award-winning dementia training ‘My World’ which is accredited by City and Guilds. It highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, in addition to addressing clinical aspects of care.

Safety and comfort are a foremost concern, so all rooms are fitted with a nurse call system and acoustic monitoring for residents' peace of mind. As well as improving quality of sleep, acoustic monitoring can help to reduce the risk of falls. For those living with memory loss or dementia, design features include dementia-friendly elements such as interior decoration, new stable door feature, light levels, floor coverings and signage which help to promote a sense of calm and wellbeing, while enabling people living with dementia to find their way around independently and safely.

I am very happy with the care provided for my wife at Horsell Lodge. My wife is also very happy. The staff are competent and friendly. The food is good with alternatives for most courses. The Home put on many activities for the residents. If the opportunity arises I would recommend this Home.

When my father died earlier this year, my mother and I decided that it would be nicer for her to move from Sussex (where she had always lived) to Surrey to be near all the family. She had to move during Covid, which meant a two-week quarantine and Covid tests. For a (nearly) 90-year old, this upheaval
could have been traumatic. But the entire staff of Horsell Lodge, from the manager to all the care workers, have been wonderful.... making her feel part of the family from day 1. My mother is really happy, settled and her sense of humour is back. I have been made incredibly welcome and the home makes it possible to visit often. This is a really caring home and I would have no hesitation in recommending this.

At last, piece of mind and no guilty conscience. My husband is a resident at Horsell Lodge and happy and contented to be there. This home is a jewel shining brightly in the quagmire of homes that do not shine! Having finally realised that I could no longer care for my husband at home, someone recommended
Horsell Lodge. As soon as I made contact with the home, I was impressed with their very caring attitude and professionalism. My husband was admitted, and we have not looked back since. I cannot fault anything at all about the home. It really is a 'home' with a bright, light modern interior reminiscent of a luxury hotel, or as my husband says - he is on a cruise! The calibre of staff is very high, unlike many other establishments, and they all go the 'extra mile' in their care of the residents. They find out as much as possible about each resident, in advance in order to make them feel welcome and special. We are both extremely happy with our choice and feel lucky to have found this home.

We were lucky enough to discover Horsell Lodge back in January of this year, shortly after it re-opened following building and refurbishment works. We were looking for a good care home for my elderly mother, who was still living on her own but was unable to cope. Horsell Lodge is delightful - beautifully
designed and furnished throughout, but it still retains the feeling of being comfortable in your own home. I can't praise all the staff and management teams enough. All the staff are so kind and thoughtful with all the residents and the management teams are very professional and caring. The home is spotlessly clean, serves the most amazing food and there are always plenty of activities to get involved with. And to top it all, the home has its own cinema room - a place you will find my mother visiting most afternoons. If you are looking for a care home that offers a superb, caring service then I highly recommend Horsell Lodge.

Mum has settled quickly and happily into this beautiful new care home. The staff are kind and friendly and they and the other residents have made mum feel very welcome. We, her family, are also well looked after when we visit and we very much appreciate the advice and help the staff have given us.
We feel so pleased and relieved to have found somewhere where mum is happy and we know she is getting first-class care.

Job Title: Home Manager

As the Home Manager I believe our residents should be able to live the life they want and be able to be themselves. I enjoy taking on the responsibilities that come with managing a home and I encourage the inclusion of everyone in the home, to create a friendly environment and a great place for us all to live and work.


I have worked in a variety of roles within the care sector for over 40 years, including being a registered nurse in the NHS for 20 years in intensive care and then moving to a nursing role within a care home. From there I progressed to Home Manager and have managed various sized homes, giving me great experience and having worked as a nurse in this setting previously I understand what the day-to-day role involves so I can support my team.


I operate an open-door policy and am approachable, not only to my team, but to the residents and their relatives too as it is their home. I encourage residents to make their rooms their own, by bringing in meaningful items to help make it homely for them.


The care background of the owners of Caring Homes is what stood out to me when joining as they understand what is involved at home level and there is a strong support network in place for me and my team to continually develop. I am passionate about seeing my team members grow and develop in their roles at the home as I work with them to offer the best care and environment possible for our residents.


In my spare time I love to travel and understand different cultures, I never go back to the same place twice as the world is so big and has so much to offer. I am also interested in ancestry, which I find fascinating and is a journey of discovery.
