Marine View Lodge is a beautiful, modern care home with vistas of the River Mersey that offers specialist dementia care services.

With 80 rooms intelligently arranged over four floors, Marine View Lodge provides a community setting where residents can benefit from high-quality care, tailored to their individual needs. The Lodge has been intelligently designed to improve residents’ quality of life, through mobility and experience.

Marine View Lodge is equipped with high-quality furnishings and fittings throughout as the comfort and well being of residents is paramount. Each bedroom comes with an adjustable profile bed, call bell system, flat-screen TV, telephone, wireless internet access and ensuite wet room.

There is a range of facilities including comfortable lounges, a health & beauty salon, beautiful gardens and a rooftop terrace with scenic views of the Mersey. Friends & family are always welcome and each lounge has a kitchenette available for both residents and visitors to make tea and coffee!

Marine View Lodge understands the importance of a well-balanced and nutritious diet and therefore, a carefully selected team produces home-cooked meals onsite daily. The resident's preferences and cultural or dietary requirements are incorporated into the menu. Guests can also join residents at mealtimes if there have been prior arrangements.

The Lodge's own in-house Lifestyle and Wellbeing team who organise a full schedule of daily activities and outings. They are dedicated to making their residents’ home a happy, vibrant and fun place to live! With many in-house activities taking place in the communal lounges, there is something fun going on around every corner.

We have been very pleased with the staff at Marine Lodge. They go above and beyond in engaging with the residents, making them feel almost like friends rather than care staff. The residence is run professionally and recently the number and variety of activities has improved. A wish would be for the
rooms to be cleaned and hoovered more thoroughly/regularly. Recently, there has been no hot water on my mother's floor (for three weeks and counting) which means no baths/showers, which is not satisfactory. Overall, we are very happy with Marine View Lodge.

We are extremely happy with the care Mum receives at Marine View Lodge. We had to move her here from another nursing home in early 2023 because the previous home couldn't provide the specialist care she needed. Thankfully, due to the skilled and experienced dementia care and nursing staff, she has settled
in well and appears happy and contented every time we visit, which was rarely the case in the old nursing home. The residents are kept stimulated by regular activities which they appear to enjoy, and the staff put on fun parties during the year (e.g. Mother's Day, Easter, Christmas, etc) which the residents really enjoy. It is also reassuring to see that the place is really well staffed by plenty of carers, so all the residents get enough care and attention. I would highly recommend Marine View Lodge for dementia care. A big thank you to all the staff.

The standard of nursing care is excellent. the nurses are able to recognise changes in my wife's physical and mental health and respond promptly to either manage it themselves or request support from the GP or the mental health team.
The care staff are able to care for my wife with compassion and good
humour.

My dad's care has been poor this month. He has frequently still been in his nightwear when I arrive at 10 am. Some days he has not been showered and has smelt. His slippers, braces and other items of clothing frequently go missing, some never to return. He is never shaved. I have asked for him to see
the podiatrist as his toenails have not been cut for months and months but for some reason, this has not happened.

My father has been here for more than 2 years now and I can honestly say I wouldn't have him anywhere else. The building is always kept so clean in every aspect and as my father is coming to the end stage of his Parkinson's which is unfortunate but grateful for how all members of staff are keeping me
up to date with his condition and having a care plan in place which gives me peace of mind. They always have activities and let families know about this all the time. All members of staff have treated me and my family with amazing respect and kindness some of which I even call friends now. I should also mention that my father's previous care home didn't meet all his standards but Marine View has gone above and beyond for him and I appreciate it.

My Dad went in on 10/11/23 he received excellent care, very clean and modern building, great facilities. The staff always very polite and were always very willing to help him as much as possible to keep him comfortable.

I feel that the standard of care has dropped in the last few months. Medication is left on the table.
Dirty water glasses.
The bin not emptied.
Commode left uncovered in the room.
Mum looking uncared for, teeth not cleaned, nails dirty.
I appreciate staff are busy not it just seems as though no
one has time anymore.
Visitors are asked to use facilities in the middle lounge to make drinks but there are no mugs/cups available and no coffee, tea, sugar and milk - probably not high on anyone’s priorities but it would be nice if they were available

We cannot thank the wonderful colleagues at Marine View Lodge enough for the care, compassion and dedication they showed to the care of my Dad. The facilities are fabulous, nothing was ever too much trouble, and it is a lovely environment for Dad to be cared for in. It is a wonderful care home for those

I cannot praise the staff and facilities enough! My mother lived at Marine View Lodge for her final couple of years, and it was a huge relief to me knowing that she was safe, comfortable and well cared for. The staff are friendly, helpful and genuinely caring. The facilities are beautiful and clean,
with great views from the upper areas.
The staff are wonderful. They communicate well and are always smiling and friendly. I love them all!

My mother-in-law who has advanced Parkinson's and complex needs has been cared for at Marine View Lodge since September 2021. The team here are always there to help support and make sure she has the nursing care she needs. They are also there to listen when you have any concerns too - the manager and
her team of nurses and carers always make you feel welcome.

Marine View Lodge looked after our dad so well. He was only there for a couple of months but in that time he was treated with care and compassion. They were wonderful and I can’t praise them enough. The staff made the worst experience in the world bearable.

The staff exceeded all our expectations and succeeded in making my dad’s last few weeks so much more than it might ordinarily have been. The home itself is modern and very well equipped but it is the staff that makes this place sparkle. They are truly amazing, helpful, compassionate superstars.

I am more than happy with the care my husband has received since moving into Marine View Lodge. From day one you encouraged him to eat (he was only 5st) and he was so frail and weak. He soon put some weight on and looks so much better. I think all your staff are amazing, very caring and have a special
relationship with the residents. It isn't an easy job, they have so much to contend with, so me and my family can't thank you enough for the care and attention you give to my husband. Thank you so much.

When I first came to Marine View Lodge, I knew I was going to fit right in. There is truly a lovely feel to our Lodge that makes everyone feel comfortable and at home. All our staff members are warm and welcoming, it is an honour to work alongside so many caring individuals.


The core value at Marine View Lodge is to provide comprehensive, transparent care to all our residents, looking after their well-being whilst placing dignity and respect at the heart of everything we do.


We pride ourselves on providing a nurturing environment for all our residents. With an in-depth experience and knowledge of caring for those living with Dementia, we provide support for our residents and their families who are making the transition into a care home. We understand the difficulties and challenges that may arise, and we are here to talk through any questions or worries you may have.

Job Title: Lodge Service Advisor

I am the Lodge Service Adviser for Athena Healthcare Group at Marine View Lodge and Lighthouse Lodge, Wirral. I provide families with information required when considering a care home for their relative. The first point of contact and advise enquirers about the different types of care we provide, our Lodge features and the process involved for a relative moving into our Care Homes.


Enjoy showing families around the Lodges and answering any questions they may have, I assist them right up to admission of their relative and am always on hand thereafter. I love meeting families, prospective residents and helping to make the move into our Care Homes the best experience it can be.


My role also involves building relationships in the community working with organisations, businesses, charities, etc and providing information in relation to the care provided at Athena Healthcare.


I enjoy spending time with my family, and I love dogs. I enjoy walking my dog, Buddy.
