Marine View Lodge is a beautiful, modern care home with vistas of the River Mersey that offers specialist dementia care services.

With 80 rooms intelligently arranged over four floors, Marine View Lodge provides a community setting where residents can benefit from high-quality care, tailored to their individual needs. The Lodge has been intelligently designed to improve residents’ quality of life, through mobility and experience.

Marine View Lodge is equipped with high-quality furnishings and fittings throughout as the comfort and well being of residents is paramount. Each bedroom comes with an adjustable profile bed, call bell system, flat-screen TV, telephone, wireless internet access and ensuite wet room.

There is a range of facilities including comfortable lounges, a health & beauty salon, beautiful gardens and a rooftop terrace with scenic views of the Mersey. Friends & family are always welcome and each lounge has a kitchenette available for both residents and visitors to make tea and coffee!

Marine View Lodge understands the importance of a well-balanced and nutritious diet and therefore, a carefully selected team produces home-cooked meals onsite daily. The resident's preferences and cultural or dietary requirements are incorporated into the menu. Guests can also join residents at mealtimes if there have been prior arrangements.

The Lodge's own in-house Lifestyle and Wellbeing team who organise a full schedule of daily activities and outings. They are dedicated to making their residents’ home a happy, vibrant and fun place to live! With many in-house activities taking place in the communal lounges, there is something fun going on around every corner.

My aunty felt safe in her time spent with you. She was well looked after. The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. She enjoyed the activities and the days when there was a summer fair or celebration of the Queen's anniversary. Thank you for everything you did for her.

Dad hasn't been here very long (2 weeks). My second experience of a nursing home. Can I say how pleased I am with the care and attention by all the staff. Even though my dad has been poorly, they are all looking after him very well. This place is clean and does not smell. The meals are wonderful home-cooked
meals.

We were very happy with the care our Mum got, on the whole, but a few times we did find Mum left to sleep sitting at the dining table, we didn’t really understand this.
Very good social and regular events included visitors.
The only letdown was the lack of response from the GP’s and failure to turn
up when called upon by the staff.

The majority of staff are really caring and treat the patients really well. There have been a lot of agency staff recently which does not add to continuity which is important.
The care is expensive, but it's great to have a new building and ensuite bathrooms.

My aunt was the most wonderful person, professional and dignified, the staff that looked after her emanated the very same. They were kind, professional, welcoming and friendly to the very end. What amazing staff you have working for you, you should be so proud. We couldn't have asked for more or better.
Your facilities were perfect, modern and clean and in a perfect setting overlooking the river. Your front-of-house staff, welcoming and simply lovely, whatever time we arrived.
For anyone with loved ones in care or on the journey, this was truly the perfect setting. You made everything seamless and comfortable, not just for my aunt but for my family as well.

My dad only spent 6 days in Marine View Lodge because he was end of life. We could not of asked for a better place for him to have stayed for his last days. The care was impeccable and the care we were given, as a family, was amazing. What a fantastic team you have here!
We could not rate food or activities,
because he didn't have any - but you make a great cup of tea!

I needed to find my mum 24 hour nursing care fast when she was being discharged from hospital after having suffered a bad fall which had accelerated her dementia. I was so relieved when I telephoned the manager and was told there was a room available for her. The day she arrived I went in and to my
astonishment I found my mum smiling and happy in her new bed. Staff did a great job of welcoming her and settling her in. Over the coming weeks my mum was transformed thanks to the amazing carers and nurses. They soon had her up out of bed, full dressed and feeding herself. This has given me and my family such sheer relief and peace of mind. During her stay she has so enjoyed music therapy, numerous parties and one to one activities with staff. They have even taken her out for a coffee. We have celebrated my dad's 90th birthday party with her when staff made us a birthday cake and decorated the room. All the staff treat my mum (and my dad) with the greatest respect, dignity and love.

This review is from experience of 1 month at Marine View Lodge. I couldn't be more thrilled that my 89 year old father was offered a place here. The staff and amenities are excellent - Dad says the food could be hotter, but that's the only bad thing he said.

My mother-in-law, who has dementia, moved into Marine View Lodge nursing home in June 2021 following a fall at home and a spell in hospital. At the time she was bed-bound and unable to feed herself, however thanks to the loving attention of the carers and nursing staff she was soon able to be dressed
and regain some mobility along with regaining her healthy appetite and the ability to feed herself again. The change in her well being and appearance in a few months was nothing short of miraculous due entirely to the professional attention of all the staff whom I couldn’t fault. My father-in-law visits every day and is now welcomed as part of the family, he has been treated with great dignity which has helped him come to terms with his wife of 66 years having to go into care. Overall from what I have seen and experienced I would highly recommend the Marine View Lodge.

Our mum had to move into the home in July this year, as her Vascular Dementia was getting worse, and I was unable to care for her any longer. I felt very guilty as I did not want to do it, but since she has been in their care I should not have worried.
She is cared for extremely well and treated with
dignity and respect in a caring, compassionate manner.
The nurses and carers are angels and should be appreciated more for the work that they do.

I had a fall at home in my bedroom in October. I was really poorly in hospital and I was sent to Marine View Lodge to continue learning to walk again and get better. I was very frightened as I had never been in a care home before and I was nervous about falling again. Because of Covid, I was told that
I had to stay in my room at first and not mix as I needed to be tested. I felt so ill I want to be bothered, I didn’t really want to speak to anyone anyway. I didn’t want to eat, but the nurses encouraged me to and the physios were the people who wanted to make me walk again. A lady there became my lifeline in there, she would bounce into my room, do my hair for me and take me down to the lounge. I loved every minute. They did a birthday cake and party for my 83rd birthday, I met the Chef and the Manager used to come to my room and sit and chat with me. Nothing was too much trouble, I came home yesterday I will miss it all. I feel like a new woman.

My lovely mum had a fall at home and broke her hip. After a hospital stay, she was brought to the Marine View Lodge. She was frail and weak, and the difference in her now a few weeks down the line is breathtaking. Excellent nursing care and food have built her up, but I believe the biggest contributor
to her bounce back has been the lady who organises so many fun interactive events, it's inspiring. My mum couldn't be in safer hands, she's coming home soon and will miss Marine View Lodge and all the staff, and that statement is from someone who is there right now and says it all really. Thank you for caring for my mum like a family.

Would definitely recommend this home for nursing care. The teams were amazing to my dad who was very happy there. The dedication of the nursing staff was second to none, both with my dad and my family during his last couple of weeks of life. Despite Covid19, they kept us all safe and cared for.

Following a stay in the hospital, our father has been recuperating at Marine View Lodge. Yesterday, he celebrated his 95th birthday, and we would just like to take a moment to thank all the staff for the wonderful day they gave him. Staff went to a tremendous effort to ensure that everything was just
perfect! The room looked amazing with fabulous balloons and banners, and the tables looked so pretty with flower arrangements. His birthday cards were thoughtfully displayed around the room, and he was even given a lovely ‘happy birthday’ glass as a gift. Delightful afternoon tea was provided, and on the big screen, they showed a concert - dad’s favourite musician. The staff made sure we Facetimed dad, which was lovely and even Facetimed his grandson in the USA! In these difficult times when we are separated from those we love and care about most, it is heartwarming and comforting to know he is surrounded by such kind, caring people. Words cannot express our appreciation.

My husband is a resident at Marine View Lodge. The standard of care has been excellent. Any requests or queries we have had have been dealt with promptly and efficiently. The staff are always involved with the residents. They are light-hearted, friendly and welcoming. There’s always a cup of tea or
coffee on offer for visitors. All the rooms and open areas are bright and clean.

When I first came to Marine View Lodge, I knew I was going to fit right in. There is truly a lovely feel to our Lodge that makes everyone feel comfortable and at home. All our staff members are warm and welcoming, it is an honour to work alongside so many caring individuals.


The core value at Marine View Lodge is to provide comprehensive, transparent care to all our residents, looking after their well-being whilst placing dignity and respect at the heart of everything we do.


We pride ourselves on providing a nurturing environment for all our residents. With an in-depth experience and knowledge of caring for those living with Dementia, we provide support for our residents and their families who are making the transition into a care home. We understand the difficulties and challenges that may arise, and we are here to talk through any questions or worries you may have.

Job Title: Lodge Service Advisor

I am the Lodge Service Adviser for Athena Healthcare Group at Marine View Lodge and Lighthouse Lodge, Wirral. I provide families with information required when considering a care home for their relative. The first point of contact and advise enquirers about the different types of care we provide, our Lodge features and the process involved for a relative moving into our Care Homes.


Enjoy showing families around the Lodges and answering any questions they may have, I assist them right up to admission of their relative and am always on hand thereafter. I love meeting families, prospective residents and helping to make the move into our Care Homes the best experience it can be.


My role also involves building relationships in the community working with organisations, businesses, charities, etc and providing information in relation to the care provided at Athena Healthcare.


I enjoy spending time with my family, and I love dogs. I enjoy walking my dog, Buddy.
