Hello, my name is Magda and I am the General Manager here at Melbourn Springs.

I started my Barchester journey back in 2019, having previously worked in our communities as a Nurse and Unit Manager. Followed by progression through Clinical Lead and Deputy Manager.

I have a wealth of knowledge and experience to bring to the home and I look forward to welcoming you to Melbourn Springs.

Hello, my name is Vimu and I am the Acting Deputy Manager at Melbourn Springs.

I joined Barchester in May 2020 when I was a student at the University of South Wales. I worked at Bryn Ivor Lodge in Cardiff whilst I was studying for an MSC in Management. After I had graduated in September 2023, I transferred to Melbourn Springs.

I am really passionate about providing quality care and making sure that our residents have the best possible life here at Melbourn Springs.

Hello, my name is Lesley and I am the Administration Manager at Melbourn Springs.

I joined Barchester in 2022 and I am here to assist with all of the aspects attached to the administration of the home.

I have previous experience working in this role and always enjoyed working closely with people and supporting the residents their families and friends, the staff and members of the public. Hello, my name is Denis and I am the Home Services Advisor here at Melbourn Springs.

I joined Barchester in 2024 and I am here to ensure that the process of moving your loved one into Melbourn Springs is as straightforward as possible.

I have previous experience in this role and one of the most satisfying parts of my job is seeing our new residents settle into their new home. The relationship that I build with the residents and their families is priceless and to be part of this journey is a genuine privilege.

I started my career with Barchester when Melbourn Springs first opened in 2020 and have progressed to Head of Housekeeping. I pride myself on leading a team to keep our lovely home looking clean and sparkly every day.

The highlight of my day is always speaking to residents about their lives and also keeping them updated on my allotment.

I joined Barchester in 2020 and have been so impressed by the outstanding training and support that the company provide for their staff.

Hello, my name is Amanda and I am a Team Leader at Melbourn Springs.

I have been working in the care sector since 2012, joined Barchester in 2021 and have always enjoyed caring for elderly people. Nothing drives me more than ensuring that our residents receive the best possible care every day – exactly how I would look after one of my own elderly relatives.

It is an absolute pleasure to help our residents settle into their new homes and see them join in all of the great activities we have at home too!

Hello, my name is Rebecca and I am a Team Leader here at Melbourn Springs. I joined Barchester at the end of 2023. I started my career in caring for the elderly many years ago and always enjoy spending time with our residents and like to ensure they receive the highest quality of care. I aim to make Melbourn Springs a home away from home for our residents and to help support them with their daily routines.

I have been with the company since permanently since August 2024 having previously been working at a bank member of staff.

My ultimate goal at Melbourn Springs is to ensure that every resident gets the most out of every day and I strive to ensure that I am doing all I can do every day for the benefit of the residents.

Hello, my name is Lesley and I am a Senior Care Assistant here at Melbourn Springs. I joined Barchester in 2022 and I have always enjoyed helping people. I like to spend time with the residents and their loved ones, listening to their stories and ensuring we support them when needed. Helping residents settle into their new homes and making sure they feel comfortable is very important to me.

Hello, my name is Andrew and I am a Senior Care Assistant here at Melbourn Springs.

I have worked in the care of elderly people for many years now and joined Barchester in 2021.

Melbourn Springs is unlike any other place that I have worked previously and the standards and training are absolutely exceptional. I thoroughly enjoy working alongside the team here at the home to provide the best care for our residents every single day!

Hello, my name is Deirdre Rogers and I am the Resident Ambassador at Melbourn Springs.

I am a volunteer and my role is to support the residents and their relatives and act as their voice. I listen to their compliments, concerns and suggestions and share this information with Magda, the General Manager, on a regular basis. I also attend the meetings for Residents and Relatives.

My stepmother was a resident of the Elstar community for three years, having moved here in December 2021.

I am retired and was previously employed as an Ofsted Early Years Inspector and Team Manager for 20 years. I have also worked as a volunteer setting up many local community projects as well as a befriender for Age UK.

I aim to ensure that a high standard of care for all residents is maintained and continuously improved.
