Opened in February 2020, Richmond Cheltenham is an award-winning retirement village nestled within attractive woodlands on the outskirts of Cheltenham.

At the heart of the village is the beautifully presented 60-bed care home, offering nursing and residential dementia care. The village offers a range of state-of-the-art facilities not always found in a care home, including restaurant, bar and café, library, activities studio, a wellness spa with treatment rooms, nail bar, hair salon and a gym and fitness studio, as well as various lounges, accessible rooftop terraces with panoramic views of Cheltenham, and preserved woodland walks. The village also boasts a scheduled transport service.

The 60-bed care home provides nursing and residential-dementia care in a beautifully-presented environment. All rooms are decorated by a team of specialist interior designers and feature electric profiling beds, a range of furniture, en-suite shower room, TV, telephone and Wi-Fi access. Many enjoy patios and balconies with views of the surrounding gardens and woodland.

Residents are supported to live a healthy and happy life in the very best environment. The dedicated and highly skilled care team are supported by Richmond Cheltenham's hospitality staff, who provide nutritious meals, whilst the on-site activities team provide a range of activities and events tailored to the interests of the residents.

Respite breaks are available for one week or more if you are a carer looking for a rest yourself but don’t want to be too far away from your loved one. It is possible to book these stays in advance. They also offer convalescence care.

A fabulous environment with a team who really care. Very many individuals really go above and beyond, always making sure that those in their care are at the centre of everything they do. The team work tirelessly to bring new and highly enjoyable experiences (eg Caribbean music and cocktails) to the
Village which are really enjoyed by the residents. I wouldn’t want my mum (dementia floor) or my stepfather (assisted living) living anywhere else and it’s a wonderfully friendly place to visit too. Very highly recommended.

My wife and I have stayed for a two-week trial and five days more recently. We have been treated extremely well by all the staff who are diligent, charming and supportive. The brief instances of staff shortage were swiftly remedied by other team members. (We have not seen the nursing section).

The care and commitment shown to my mother when she was at end of life (and before) was excellent. As a family we were also looked after and cared for. A very distressing time became easier thanks to the care of the Richmond staff. We were able to crate a warm and loving environment for my mother to
pass away.

The whole team care. The facilities are first class with beautiful serving areas inside and outside. The restaurant service is great and the quality and presentation of food is perfect. My grandmother is a resident of this care home and I cannot praise them enough.
The care is excellent and the staff are lovely, they genuinely know her needs and character.
The home itself is very relaxed and welcoming, it feels like a 5 star hotel that you live in.
They are also very accommodating
with the residents specific needs and are very supportive with health and welfare requirements.
The home is slightly more expensive than your average home but, as they say, you get what you pay for.

My mum has recently moved permanently into Richmond Village following a 4 week respite stay after a couple of falls. Mum learned about Richmond from a friend who recommended it highly to her when it became clear that Mum needed a much higher level of care and support.
Before deciding on Richmond I
investigated most of the other care homes in Cheltenham and visited several of them. Richmond stood out. The facilities are fantastic and there is a really modern, light and airy feel about the place. In many respects, it seems like staying in a 5-star hotel.
As with all care homes the critical factor is the staff. At Richmond, without exception, they are fantastic. The level of care and attention they are providing to my mum is superb.

My mum moved to Richmond Village in March 2021 for palliative/end of life care. The care and support she received was second to none. My mum was treated with absolute dignity, professionalism and the highest standards of care. This was balanced with a genuinely caring approach and a sense of humour.
As a family member, I was involved in decision making and made to feel exceptionally welcome and also supported by everyone at Richmond Village. Every member of the Richmond Village team contributes to the quality of care. I cannot recommend Richmond Village highly enough. My mum was exceptionally fortunate to spend her last few weeks at a Richmond Village.

Our father moved into an assisted living apartment this month and he has been made to feel very welcome from the very beginning by all the team.
He now enjoys three nutritional meals a day in the restaurant and everything is taken care of for him including the cleaning of his apartment and the laundering
of his clothes. We would recommend anyone who is looking to move into a retirement village to have a look around. We now have total peace of mind that our father is being looked after to the highest of standards in every way!

Having used the other Richmond Villages for respite care for my 89-year-old brother with Parkinson's Disease I know from first-hand experience how well managed and superb the facilities and care are. As he lives in Fleet in Hampshire I was delighted when the Cheltenham Village opened a few months ago.
But before he could come to see for himself the excellent accommodation and facilities I had an emergency with my elderly neighbour whose gas boiler had burst and flooded his bungalow. At literally a couple of hours notice Cheltenham Richmond arranged for him to go straight into one of their beautiful rooms and stay until his home became habitable. He has enjoyed such great care from all the staff and is enjoying being in what is as good or even better than a five-star hotel with an added care package as well. I cannot recommend Richmond Cheltenham highly enough.

We urgently required a nursing home for our terminally ill cousin, relocating from London. The Senior Village Adviser and the Care Manager were extremely helpful and welcomed us for a tour of the facilities. The rooms are well furnished, very comfortable and practical with en-suite walk-in showers
and a good range of furniture. The lounge and dining rooms are bright and cheerful and to say that it has the feel of a 5-star hotel is not exaggerating. The staff have been very kind to our cousin, ensuring that anything he needs is provided. All equipment is readily available to assist with his needs. All the staff are friendly, accommodating and gentle but always professional and have quickly got to know him. He is very happy with his new home and enjoys the food and attention. The staff are very informative and keep family updated at all times. We cannot recommend Richmond Village more highly.

My father and sister visited Richmond Village when it was about to open, and were very pleased with what they saw. The rooms and facilities are excellent, with tasteful, contrasting decoration throughout. I was able to visit, shortly before Dad moved in. Fortunately, he moved in just before the Coronavirus
lock-down. Subsequently, Dad was admitted to hospital for several days, and on his return, the staff were so caring and kind.
I live in the States, and so have been unable to visit since before the lock-down. However, the reports, shared by my sister, have always been so positive. With the introduction of FaceTime video calls, my wife and I have been able to talk with and see Dad every weekend. My children have been able to keep in touch with Grandpa from Seattle, Texas and Oklahoma City, on a regular basis. Dad is always smiling, laughing and happy with these video calls.
Our whole family is so pleased with the care Dad is receiving and thankful that he chose to move there.

Mum moved into Richmond for a trial run just before the lockdown. Throughout these very strange times, all the staff at the village have been unfailingly kind and helpful. Mum has been frequently touched by staff going the extra mile just to make her feel more settled and happy.
The accommodation
itself is excellent and the communal areas are beautifully decorated and laid out.
Mum has particularly enjoyed going up to the rooftop with its views and getting involved with the gardening club. She has also participated in a number of the exercise classes. She enjoys meeting other residents at lunchtime in the restaurant for a catch-up. The ability to enjoy all the facilities during the lockdown has been somewhat hampered but despite that, the staff have done everything they can to continue with as many activities as they safely can.
Mum has now settled well and is happy.

My mum reluctantly agreed she needed to move, and moved into Richmond Village in Cheltenham. She now wishes she had made the move a long time ago, as she feels so much better. Everyone in there is really helpful and kind to her. Since she has been at the village she has put on weight as she is eating
much better and loves the restaurant. Before she moved in she was struggling with everyday life and hardly eating, she struggled with the stairs and going from one room to the next was a real effort. Now she has all the mundane things done for her she has so much more energy and enjoys life again. She loves all the different activities and exercise classes, and she can now walk all the way around the building which is a fantastic improvement. If you want somewhere fantastic to look after an elderly relative, I would strongly recommend Cheltenhams Richmond Village.

After hearing that Richmond Village was opening, my father and I visited and were both very impressed with what we saw. The rooms are spacious, the facilities excellent and the standard of decoration superb. He moved in just before the Coronavirus lockdown. The staff couldn't have been more helpful
in facilitating the move.
Shortly after he moved in, he was admitted to hospital, and on his return the standard of care he received was fabulous. The staff are caring and competent, friendly without being over-familiar, and treat him with consideration and respect. They also stay in close touch with the family keeping us informed of any issues.
The frustration of not being able to visit during the lockdown has been alleviated by the staff assisting with video calls. This has enabled my father to have regular contact with his son and grandchildren in the States.
As a family, we are delighted with the standard of care and very happy that my father chose to move there.

Mum moved into Richmond just before the virus hit.
The building is brand new, along with everything in it. The communal areas, restaurant, activity spaces and lounge (which include a glass-fronted garden room and cinema lounge with roof terrace) are beautifully decorated and create a welcoming, quality
environment where tea, coffee and cakes seem to be always available!
The living accommodation is well designed to provide very comfortable, accessible spaces that maximise the opportunity for independence and support as needed.
All of the staff embody the ethos of quality, they are caring and warm without any of the patronising tone I hate! They supported Mum’s move helping her settle despite the strange times - encouraging involvement and listening carefully. The restaurant has continued to provide high-quality food and opportunities for distanced social interaction. The recent VE Day lunch celebrations were well organised and enjoyed by staff and residents.

My father moved from another care home to be closer to family in March 2020. We were all very happy with the Richmond brand, so when one opened in Cheltenham we jumped at the chance to move him. We attended the open evening and viewed the site prior to taking my father around for a viewing. He was very
enthusiastic about the prospect of moving to Cheltenham Richmond’s; it is a lovely site with great facilities and the staff very welcoming and professional. When shortly afterwards my father was seriously unwell, he received excellent care, with good communication maintained with us, despite challenging conditions preventing family visits due to the COVID 19 lockdown. I have no doubt that the excellent care provided by Richmond Cheltenham played a huge part in his subsequent recovery, for which we are very grateful, especially as he has since been able to see his new granddaughter via videocall with the help of staff.

Dad was in a different care home when we saw Richmond Cheltenham was opening. I quickly arranged a visit with my sister. From the start, we were impressed by their professional, caring, can-do attitude. We soon returned, with Dad so he could choose if he wanted to make the move. He was so positive about
the people, the facilities and the food he decided then and there it was for him.
His move was accelerated by the impending Coronavirus and the Richmond Cheltenham staff worked with us as a family to enable it to happen. Whilst it is hard not to be able to visit Dad during lockdown we are confident he is safe and in the best place possible. He is very happy, full of praise for Richmond Cheltenham. He enjoys every aspect of it: the time, care and attention of the friendly staff, the high quality, nutritious food and the beautiful, well-designed facilities.

I have over 20 years of experience within the Care Sector from supporting individuals with learning and physical disabilities to dementia and end-of-life care. I studied at the University of Chester and hold a degree-level qualification in Counselling with a focused approach to individual health and well-being. I have also studied in various roles in the Health and Social Care Sector, gaining mandatory social care qualifications and managerial qualifications throughout my career.


I am focused on bringing person-centred care and activities into the care home ensuring independence skills are continued and developed upon.


In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and two children keep me busy, from being the taxi driver to all the after-school activities such as The Scouts, Drama classes, Ju-Jitsu and Badminton, as well as going to school plays and dance recitals.

As Head of Activities and Spa at Richmond Village Cheltenham, I am passionate about creating a vibrant and enriching environment for our residents. With deep understanding of the unique needs of older adults.


I plan, organise, and lead a variety of engaging activities from fitness classes and social gatherings to cultural events, aimed at promoting physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.


Additionally, I oversee our Spa services, ensuring that residents enjoy a space dedicated to relaxation, rejuvenation, and self-care.


My goal is to foster a sense of community, well – being, and connection, helping each resident live their life to the fullest in a safe and supportive environment.
