The whole staff have a caring feel for the residents from the domestics to the manager. They have been under stress due to staff shortage but have still not let it affect the residents.

I expect that most people consider care home staff will look after the people they support. Without exception, the staff at St Andrew’s Court go way beyond that expected care. Their kindness, respect, compassion and love for the service users and their families exceeds any expectations you might have.
From our initial visit we were warmly welcomed. My husband’s room was spacious and kept spotlessly clean by the wonderful housekeeping staff. Every consideration was given in getting to know my husband and throughout his time with them he was shown nothing but the utmost respect, love delivered with humour, and unfailing kindness. It’s a tough time for everyone when a family member needs somewhere like St Andrew’s but I can never adequately thank the wonderful carers, nurses, entertainment staff, housekeeping and managers for their constant support during those very tough times. Their support got me through with their friendship and love. Thank you all.

I can't really say enough about the wonderful care my Mother received at St Andrew's during the time she spent there. From the first day she was admitted she was treated with such diligent care and affection from all of the staff and as a family we were given every opportunity to feel involved and frequently
asked for input to make sure Mum was surrounded with her familiar and favourite things.
Staff and management are well trained and made all efforts possible to ensure Mum received the highest standard of care.
It was particularly important to us as a family as two of us live abroad and travel restrictions had prevented our usual visits, however, the amazing staff quickly established a regular weekly video calling schedule which was a great comfort to us especially in the last few days of Mums life as we were able to speak to her up until the end.
Mums medical care due to her terminal illness was also dealt with in a professional and sympathetic manner. Forever in their debt.

My mother spent the last few months of her life at St Andrew's after leaving hospital with mental and terminal physical health issues. I was greatly touched by the personal attention and affection she received. They took the time to get to know her as a person and whilst visiting was restricted due
to the Covid pandemic I regularly received video calls, messages and pictures. The staff were friendly and engaged and I was totally confident in her care right to the end of her life.
This is a professional, well-staffed and managed home.

Overwhelmed by every member of staff's care and provision for my relative. This same dignity and respect was also given to myself. Nothing too much bother. Fabulous facilities. At a difficult time, the confidence and comfort knowing my relative was under St Andrew's care was so reassuring. A triumph
to the care system.

As my son moved into the home on 3rd February 2020 and it was closed down in March, I can't really give a review of consequence. The main problem we have is with contact with our son, we find it difficult to get a reply to telephone calls. Although we are supposed to get a video call every Wednesday,
it is now nearly three weeks since we last spoke to him. I rang through on both 29th and 31st May and was told I would get a callback - this did not happen.

Reply from Kath Dye, Home Manager at St Andrew's Court

Hello,
I’m very sorry we said we’d call back and didn’t.
We take communication between residents and their family very, very seriously, and we apologise that our communication was not as robust as normal.
Moving forward, we will always let you know how your son is and I know you have a good relationship with a member of staff who regularly updates you. In the meantime, we look forward to welcoming you back once we are open again for visitors.

Dad was previously on a lot of medication and was losing weight. Since being at St Andrew's he is more himself, medication has been reduced and weight is being gained.
Much of this improvement is due to the well-trained staff who keep the residents safe, secure and happy.

Reply from Kath Dye, Home Manager at St Andrew's Court

Thank you so much for your review. It’s our pleasure to care for your dad – and I’ll make sure to pass on your kind words to his care team. We also really enjoy his wonderful piano playing!
We take great pride in our excellent care colleagues who we really do feel make every day better for your dad.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.

After being neglected in his last home, my husband has settled in really well. Staff know him well enough after three weeks for me to be happy to have a day off.

I found this home to be one of the best if not the best I have visited. The rooms and facilities are of the highest grade. All the staff from management down to carers seem to be helpful and caring to residents and visitors.
I cannot praise this care home enough and think the standards they set are
a benchmark for others to achieve.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.471)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.471) out of 10 for St Andrew's Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.870 for St Andrew's Court is calculated as follows: ( (20 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 4.87

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.601 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Andrew's Court is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 21 registered maximum number of service users is 4.2. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.2 = 0.476

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
