After being discharged from hospital my mother was unable to fend for herself and with limited support needed a care home as soon as possible. Deewater Grange looked impressive with all the amenities that I would wish for in a care home so I contacted the Customer Relations Manager. The Customer Relations
Manager talked me through the admissions process expertly and addressed all my concerns including the rules around Covid. Negative PCR test prior to admission followed by 14 days isolation before being allowed into the communal areas and meeting other residents. It has taken my mum time to settle in but she now feels safe and secure in her well-appointed room with a patio and is beginning to enjoy the social activities, facilities, and company. The staff are exceptional, incredibly caring, friendly, and responsive. Health and wellbeing are continually monitored by the staff and weekly by the Doctor with a call to myself if they have any concerns. Great facilities with high standards of care and hygiene, highly recommended.

I needed to find a really good home for my mum very quickly to recover from a broken ankle operation. I turned up at Deewater Grange and the Customer Services Manager was amazing. She explained everything to me; we acted very quickly and I trusted her. My mum moved in 3 days later. There were a couple
of minor issues to start with but these were resolved very quickly. My mum has been very happy at Deewater. The staff are very caring and responsive; they showed an interest in her and she built some lovely relationships. There is a choice of food and it is very good. The home is very clean and it is kept to a high standard. She enjoys meeting her visitors in the coffee shop. Following her two weeks isolation due to the strict Covid rules the home applies, she was able to use more of the excellent facilities and meet other residents. My mum’s recovery has been so good and I am sure the lovely staff and wonderful environment have been a significant contributory factor.

Deewater has exceeded our expectations. All of the staff are exceptional, from housekeeping to management, everyone acknowledges you upon arrival and are so approachable, nothing is too much trouble. Our mother has settled into the beautiful surroundings and her room is delightful; tastefully designed,
light and modern, with an air of serenity. Our mother enjoys the varied and interesting menu and is occupied by a wide variety of activities to fill her days. As a family we feel fully supported by all the staff and communication between family and staff is excellent. Deewater has excellent facilities for its residents including a cinema room and ‘coffee shop’ and the wonderful presence of Mabel, the resident dog, makes this home feel truly like a home from home.

Mum was admitted to Deewater Grange Care Home in July 2021. After a couple of weeks of adjustment, she has settled very well. The staff have made her very welcome and introduced her to other residents, which has given her a sense of belonging. Mum now calls Deewater Grange home. The admission process
was fairly straightforward, especially during and considering the pandemic. The facilities are lovely, well maintained and very clean. We have a very high comfort level that Mum is very safe with the level of security in place at Deewater Grange. Her health and well-being are addressed continually and we are kept informed regularly. The few very minor issues that we have had during Mum's settling-in period have all been addressed speedily, efficiently, and pleasantly. We could not ask for Mum to be in a better facility than Deewater Grange.

After the stress of going round in circles with various organisations, trying to find appropriate care for my mother-in-law, who suffers from dementia, it was a welcome relief to find Deewater Grange Care Home. The customer relations manager, from the moment she became involved, could not have done
more for us or been more calm, competent, and reassuring. The staff are lovely and created a genuinely interested and welcoming atmosphere for my mother-in-law upon arrival, arranging the personalisation of her living space with her own pictures, furniture, and belongings, and keeping us in touch with how she was settling in. The staff also have the particular skills necessary to manage dementia sufferers; I cannot recommend the team highly enough. At present, there are also very strict procedures in place to prevent Covid from entering the home.

Deewater Grange is a delightful place, being immaculate with a very high standard of hygiene and cleanliness. My cousin has a spacious room leading onto a well-kept garden and a beautiful en-suite bathroom, surrounded by her own familiar objects from home all which help her feel settled and content.
She tells me that there is an excellent choice at mealtimes and that the food is always well presented. She particularly enjoys her visits to the coffee shop where she can socialise.
Deewater’s customer relations is very ably handled by the customer relations manager. She is first-rate, very competent and knowledgeable. She led us through the admin process explaining everything in detail in a very reassuring yet amiable manner.
The staff, especially on reception, are dedicated, friendly and caring and are happy to help with any information or enquiries about my cousin’s well being.
Deewater is an oasis of genuine care and gives us as a family great comfort in knowing that she is being kept safe and well looked after.

The customer relationship manager guided us through the whole process and despite having to admit under (Covid) restricted conditions, our aunt has settled well and is thriving in her new surroundings. All of the staff we have encountered have been helpful, professional, and caring and anyone with any
doubts about moving a loved one into a supported environment should look no further. The home and its surroundings are immaculately kept and I have no doubt anymore that we have helped our aunt make the right decision for her future care.

Mum had a very happy Christmas 2020 at Deewater Grange despite all the restrictions of Covid-19, this was due to the hard work of all the staff team. Even though visitors were not allowed, I could see all the preparations that Mum was involved in via Deewater Grange's Facebook Account. She did all sorts
of things including making decorations and enjoying lots of tasty treats too. Mum loved being outside and there were pictures of her well wrapped up in the lovely gardens. Talking to staff I know they helped Mum to enjoy the letters I sent her because they commented on the family news in them. On Christmas Day itself, there were lovely photographs of Mum with her gift bag from the home and with the gifts the family had sent in. In all the photographs Mum looked very happy and very well. The food must have been good because staff reported how well Mum was eating. (In non-Covid times family can enjoy meals too.) I cannot thank all the staff enough for the wonderful care they took of Mum.

My family and I were so thankful for all the kind and caring staff at Deewater who went above and beyond. My mum received such wonderful care. Nothing was too much trouble and as a family we were able to communicate and receive information at all times of the day. The staff were so kind especially the
carers and nurses. They treated us like we were their own family. Mum also received exceptional care and was kept comfortable and safe and everyone was extremely gentle and kind. We would highly recommend this lovely place.

Despite Covid-19 restrictions which meant we couldn't enter the home, the Deewater Grange Team arranged for us to be able to view a residential room, visit the shared outside facilities and view the indoor shared facilities through the windows which helped us make the decision that Deewater would be
right for Mum. The design and construction of the residential home has been really well thought out and is very welcoming. Mum is settling in and has been able to personalise her room with photos, pictures and some small fixtures and fittings. Her small patio provides a private area for sitting outside. Mum is enjoying the company of the friendly and helpful staff and very much enjoying the food.
The administrative and management team at Deewater have been really helpful and respond really quickly to any questions or concerns. Visiting is restricted due to the ongoing national rules, however, all staff have done their best to facilitate visiting within the current rules.

As I was unable to go, my son and daughter-in-law were able to arrange a tour outside the building and they were very impressed by the garden and outdoor space and also what they were able to see through the windows. The home also arranged a virtual tour which was impressive and which allowed us to
get a better feel for the place. We had a lot of questions and yet nothing was ever too much for any of the staff. My husband moved in on the 28th August 2020 and I believe that we could not have picked a better place for him. He is settling well and praises the kind and helpful staff every time we ring, and he loves the food too!
Knowing that he is now safe and well cared for is a huge relief.

I am extremely happy with the care and attention my friend is receiving and content that she is safe and very well looked after. I have always known that at some stage mum who has vascular dementia would need to move into care and was quite frankly dreading the day. However thanks to the staff at Deewater Grange, I needn't have worried. Mum who is not unsociable but has always chosen to keep to herself is like a new person,
she now has her meals in the dining room, has joined in with Easter afternoon tea in the lounge, and has even taken part in games in the garden. This is down to all the amazing staff, they don't think twice about going the extra mile, e.g. sourcing hard to find DVDs in the local community for mum who loves to watch cricket.
It is a place where the staff really care and it has been such a relief.

Bearing in mind the current dreadful situation, the home has been a complete revelation to me. For the past number of years, I have dreaded "THE DAY" when Mum (a very independent lady to say the least) had to move to a care home but the onset of dementia has made it necessary. Throughout the application
for admittance, the Manager has continually stressed, "give her a couple of weeks and she will be fine" (and I, of course, knew she wouldn't be and would be back home by Sunday). Nothing could be further from the truth. With the lockdown in place, I am unable to visit but the staff are making up for it, they are actively involved with her throughout the day. She has been to more social gatherings in a fortnight than in the previous 20 years, she is eating in the dining room with the other residents and has even made a friend. The staff have made it clear I can ring any time of day and that, in itself, gives massive peace of mind. I know it is early days but so far, it's brill.

From my first contact with the home, the staff went out of their way to understand my mum’s needs and ensure they could be accommodated. We had to move quickly with the developing threat from COVID-19 and if it had not been for the home’s prompt and diligent actions, my mum would not have been able
to get into the home before the doors were closed to new residents. Now as a resident, my mum has settled in very quickly; she loves her room with its own patio overlooking the garden and is starting to enjoy all the daily entertainment and interaction with the other residents. Despite the current COVID restrictions, I am still able to contact my mum using the home’s video call system. Only yesterday, my mum told me how much fun she is having with her new friends and how pleasant and caring all the cares are, nothing is too much trouble. Having to be physically isolated from my ageing mum at these challenging times, I could not want for her to be in a better place.

My father-in-law had a stroke in October last year - we needed to find him a care home which would suit his nursing needs.
We were in the luxurious position to be able to choose a home which was similar to his flat prior to the stroke.
We went to visit Deewater Grange straight away. On arrival, we
were shown to the cafe area at the front of the building and met by the wonderful CRM, who put my mother-in-law and I at ease straight away. She is so confident, bubbly and smiley - just what we needed in the situation we found ourselves in. We had a tour and my mother-in-law was sold. A cafe (with cakes!), a hairdresser, cinema room and bar, en-suite rooms. dining room (laid like a restaurant!), beautiful lounges and a spa bathroom - what's not to like?
The staff too are all brilliant! Knowledgeable, helpful and very kind - they can't do enough for my father-in-law.
I can highly recommend Deewater Grange and once you can visit (after this lockdown) - do - you won't be disappointed!


My mother-in-law wanted to spend time with my father-in-law (of course!) so joined him for a couple of weeks respite. She is registered disabled and had been managing at the flat with assistance - but she was just managing, not really living.
She enjoyed her 2 weeks so much that she decided she wanted to stay on a permanent basis. Luckily we could arrange that for her.
It is so wonderful that she is so well cared for - she is encouraged to eat and doesn't need to worry about a thing - meals cooked (BBQs!), medication given, laundry done, bathrooms cleaned and beds made. She gets to spend time with my father-in-law - as they've done for 54 years. They can watch films, eat together, complete activities together and go for a coffee together. There will be day trips too once this lockdown is over.
She's walking more too as her confidence grows. She feels like she's on a permanent holiday and that can't be a bad thing at all!

My brother and sister-in-law arranged for my parents to move into Deewater Grange (I, unfortunately, live miles away) after my father became very ill and was no longer able to care for my mother. They have very different needs and from what I have seen moving them both in has transformed their lives.
The care given from the staff is exceptional. The surroundings are fantastic and we can all live without worry that my parents are being very well looked after in such troubled times. I could not speak more highly of what I saw and the kindness and understanding that we have been given as a family.

We'd looked at a number of nursing homes when we were recommended to view Deewater Grange. We were a little apprehensive as it was so new that it had no ratings which is naturally something that you would look at when considering a home for a loved one. Our minds were put at ease after visiting Deewater
on a couple of occasions; being shown around by a lady who answered all of our questions and was fantastic in explaining the process, paperwork and generally supporting us in moving Grandpa in (actually staying after hours to be able to greet him on his first night). We regularly visit and are always greeted with a smile and tales of what Grandpa has been up to. He is content and very well cared for, and tells us how nice everyone and everything is, a particular highlight being the food which is wonderful. The cinema room (with bar), hobby room, beautiful lounges and gardens are fantastic. Grandpa has a very comfortable room with high-quality furniture and his own patio.

My father (aged 94) has been in Deewater Grange now for one month.
The home is brand new and beautifully decorated, more like a five-star hotel than a care home, with comfortable, cosy sitting rooms, a cinema, cafe, hairdresser and attractive restaurant where family and friends are encouraged to join
residents for meals. All bedrooms are of a good size, light and airy and have access onto a patio and garden area.
However it is the staff who make it such a wonderful place to be, not only the carers but receptionists, maintenance staff, chefs and managers, are all so kind, caring and friendly, they always have Dad's best interests at heart and nothing seems too much trouble. In addition family and friends are welcomed and made to feel part of this very special 'family'.
My father's health has improved substantially from the time he arrived and he is much happier in himself. I am delighted that I found Deewater Grange and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Job Title: Home Manager

I’ve worked for Care UK for many years. I joined Pinetum, another of its Chester care homes, in 2007 as a general nurse and was later promoted to senior nurse. After a couple of years away, I returned to the home as Deputy Manager in 2015 and became Home Manager in 2016.


I enjoy working in care homes. As a nurse, you can build relationships with the people you’re caring for and their families in a way that’s just not possible in a hospital setting where people come and go. I love the fact that we’re making a big difference to people’s lives and we get to see the evidence of that.
