Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible.

Please note, the weekly fee does not include hairdressing, chiropody or other healthcare visits or
appointments not covered by the NHS, toiletries, newspapers or magazines, any over the counter
medications that a GP wouldn’t normally prescribe such as paracetamol and indigestion relief, and any
other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

My mother-in-law wanted to spend time with my father-in-law (of course!) so joined him for a couple of weeks respite. She is registered disabled and had been managing at the flat with assistance - but she was just managing, not really living.
She enjoyed her 2 weeks so much that she decided she wanted to stay on a permanent basis. Luckily we could arrange that for her.
It is so wonderful that she is so well cared for - she is encouraged to eat and doesn't need to worry about a thing - meals cooked (BBQs!), medication given, laundry done, bathrooms cleaned and beds made. She gets to spend time with my father-in-law - as they've done for 54 years. They can watch films, eat together, complete activities together and go for a coffee together. There will be day trips too once this lockdown is over.
She's walking more too as her confidence grows. She feels like she's on a permanent holiday and that can't be a bad thing at all!

Job Title: Home Manager
I’ve worked for Care UK for many years. I joined Pinetum, another of its Chester care homes, in 2007 as a general nurse and was later promoted to senior nurse. After a couple of years away, I returned to the home as Deputy Manager in 2015 and became Home Manager in 2016.
I enjoy working in care homes. As a nurse, you can build relationships with the people you’re caring for and their families in a way that’s just not possible in a hospital setting where people come and go. I love the fact that we’re making a big difference to people’s lives and we get to see the evidence of that.
It’s a privilege to now be leading a brand new home for Care UK in Chester – Deewater Grange. I’m passionate about the potential of this stunning new home and how we can make a difference in residents’ lives.
One of the best aspects of this job is meeting new residents and getting to know them and seeing them settle and enjoy life. We’re dedicated to finding out about the little details of people’s lives, and their preferences so that we can include things they’ll enjoy and that will make them smile. That’s the secret to creating a true ‘home from home’.
