Heanor Park is a 60-bed care home providing residential, D/deaf services, dementia care, independent living suites and respite care.

The purpose-built home is situated right in the community of Heanor on the edge of Heanor Memorial Park and has fantastic views of the woodland park and a large secluded garden to the rear of the property.

Resident wellbeing is Heanor Park's absolute focus and they work hard to ease every resident into their new home. Fortunately, they benefit from the enthusiastic support of a family-friendly atmosphere where nothing is ever too much for the residents. Everyone at Heanor Park Care Home is very sociable and enjoys a great sense of fun and togetherness.

Each of the small households has its own kitchen where independence is promoted within a friendly homely environment. The lounges and communal areas are where you’ll find residents joining in activities, mingling over cakes and coffee or perhaps even enjoying a pre-lunch aperitif. They also recognise that sometimes a bit of space is needed and the quiet rooms are always available for some relaxation or just catching up on the papers.

Heanor Park's bedrooms are generously sized, tastefully presented to a high standard and all have en suite walk-in showers. The premium and superior rooms have double beds and wall-mounted TVs and the ground floor rooms have their own garden terrace which can be personalised to suit.

The garden is the perfect spot to while away the summer months in the company of other residents. Residents will be encouraged to take part in the care home's garden activities and other exercises with the support of the team of activity staff.

They also take time to pamper residents in the care home's very own salon or spa which has a state-of-the-art jacuzzi bath or residents can relax and enjoy a film in the cinema room.

Heanor Park Care Home was very helpful when I needed a service for my mum. The manager was very responsive and helpful. On arrival, a temporary GP was arranged and district nurse support was quickly organised. The care home is a new build with good facilities. There was good staffing evident when visiting.
A request to review food was actioned. Overall, Heanor Park Care Home provided excellent service when it was needed. After a two-month stay with the help of the care home and local hospital, my mum was able to return home.

Mum came to Heanor Park Care Home as her first experience of respite care, she stayed for nine days. She was very impressed with the level of care and cleanliness of the home and her room. They provided an extra high toilet seat and bedside clock on request to help her out very quickly. She needed her
radiator turned off as it was a bit too warm in her room. Some of the lunchtime food was a bit bland for her taste. She would be very happy to come back again.

My wife attends Heanor Park Care Home for daycare and respite care. Whilst in the home she feels very comfortable and relaxed and always speaks fondly of the staff who are always very caring and friendly towards her.

We needed urgent respite care for my elderly mother on exiting hospital. Her care needs were too great for us to cope with and she was not ready to return to her own home but the hospital moved to discharge her at short notice given that her medical needs had been met. We had minimal knowledge about
the care system but one simple phone call of enquiry to Ashmere reassured us that a room at Heanor Park could be provided at a day's notice if needed, that all her needs would be met and at a reasonable cost. They worked closely with us as a family, arranged a visit at short notice and within 3 days she was settled within a lovely, hotel quality room in nice surroundings. Every single member of staff involved in her care, from the initial phone call of enquiry, through to the day she left to go home a month later was friendly, caring and professional. This was a huge relief to the family and we are very grateful to all the staff involved. We highly recommend Heanor Park for respite care.

When my mother went to live at Heanor Park Care Home, I don't think any of us realised just how very poorly she was. Three months on, and she is a different person. Surrounded by a team and genuine carers, with good food, the friendship of other residents, and a safe, warm, calm environment, she has
had one time and the resources to recover - such that she now plays an active part, at times able to give back for her new friends. As she put it - "this is Derbyshire, this is me, and I am very happy here".

My Mum is in Heanor Park Care Home for respite after falling over and breaking her hip. It was Mum's 91st in June and all the relatives wanted to visit her but her mobility is not good. There were children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but only 3 were allowed to visit at one time, so the staff
found our family a lounge and kitchen area not occupied and allowed us to visit all at once, so we have a little birthday party for her.
The staff could not have been more helpful or made us any more welcome, they even made her a cake.
We would like to thank the home and all the staff for allowing us to give Mum a good birthday.

I am delighted with the care and attention my mum has received. After 5 weeks in hospital, my mum feels settled and safe. Above all, she is happier and more confident than I have seen her for some time. She enjoys the activities and has been made to feel welcome by the other residents and staff. The

Mum moved to Heanor Park very recently after a pretty horrible year of leaving her home for the second time, Covid lockdowns, winter and sadly the death of her daughter. The staff at Heanor Park have made her so welcome, cared for, and thankfully we have seen her returning to her happy and cheerful
self. She has made friends and thoroughly enjoys the food. I saw her for the first time in 15 months (I live abroad) and I was so relieved to see her so settled. The staff have been so willing to help me get in contact with her, using social media, which mum doesn’t always manage herself and any queries I may have, they have been helpful to explain routines and let me know just how well she has settled.
Mum has a beautiful room, with lots of her own photos, ornaments and memorabilia. She loves the view out to the local park. She now feels at home in her new surroundings. The move has been so worth it to see mum happy and healthy again.

My mum has just celebrated the end of her first year as a resident in Heanor Park. She tells me every day how lucky she feels to be there.
The care given by the staff is wonderful and one carer is always singled out for her praise.
Most days one of the carers organises something for the residents
to undertake if they wish, be that a quiz or a physical activity. Her creativity in finding things to engage and amuse the residents, and to keep them busy is astounding.
The manager ensures everything runs smoothly and twice in recent weeks she has gone over and above what we might have expected to have been done to personally assist my mum.
I have nothing but praise for the time and effort taken to ensure my mum is happy which removes an amount of worry my sister and I carried prior to her becoming a resident. We know she is safe and secure.

The information on this home is very misleading. If your loved one has dementia and needs or is almost likely to need nursing care and you don't want the upheaval of having to move your relative, then look elsewhere. The home is lovely and the care staff are amazing, but having discussed my mum's needs,
we were led to believe that they would be able to deal with her. Unfortunately, it looks like a move is on the cards for my mum. So think carefully.

We are not registered for Nursing Care and we are confident we do not advertise Nursing Care at Heanor Park. At the time of admission we go through a rigorous admissions process to ensure we can meet the needs of our residents, but unfortunately, some residents' dementia advances quickly over a few months period that we can no longer meet their needs in a residential setting and they require input from specialist nurses. Not only an extension of mum's family but ours too. Always happy to greet you. The care given is given with love for the job and love for the residents. Nothing is too much trouble. Meals are not my mum's best time of the day but the staff always find something to tempt her with the lovely meals they
make. Patient and caring 24/7 never worry about her being here.

Fantastic. My mum moved to Heanor Park at the beginning of September for one week, but within a few days, she had decided to move in on a permanent basis. The manager and staff have created a calm and welcoming atmosphere that you can feel the moment you walk through the door. My Mum describes the staff
as being absolutely lovely and nothing is ever too much trouble. She says the food is superb: excellent quality, and beautifully cooked and presented. The home is spotlessly clean and the attention to detail radiates through all aspects of the care home. My mum is extremely happy and thoroughly enjoying her life at Heanor Park. A huge thank you to all concerned.

We chose Heanor Park for our dad because of its calm atmosphere and exceptionally welcoming community spirit. During his stay, it was always very easy for us to get in touch and we felt that everyone we spoke to knew him very well and was up to date on his progress. We particularly appreciated this
during the lockdown, when we were unable to visit. The staff made sure we were able to speak to him every few days until visits were able to resume. The rooms and facilities are excellent: very clean, comfortable and modern. Dad really enjoyed the tasty and nutritious food and there were lots of treats to mark special occasions, including his birthday. Above all, we were impressed by the kindness, dedication and professionalism of the staff who looked after our dad. The strong bonds they had forged with him were clearly demonstrated in their genuine sadness when he moved to a nursing home, following the development of more complex needs related to his dementia.

In the short time, Mum was there, she was treated with the utmost care and dignity. From management to all staff, the experience was as good as possible for us, and I have nothing but praise for their kindness. The brand new building is beautiful - Mum felt as if she was staying in a posh hotel, but
it's warm and friendly atmosphere made it feel homely. Please come and look at Heanor Park. You could not possibly be disappointed and you could not find a nicer place for your loved one.

My mum came in for respite after not being too well. The staff are excellent, always willing to help and do lots of different activities, crafts and pamper sessions for the residents.
The home is very clean and well kept with a very homely feel. You are always made to feel welcome.

Hi, I'm Natalie, registered manager at Heanor Park Care Home.


I developed my passion for health and social care when I began my first role as a care assistant, from here I began learning more about Health and social care and caring for people.


Developing my staff team at Heanor Park as the manager is key to empowering the staff team to become confident in their role.


Our staff provide outstanding care to all our residents using their knowledge and continuing development in their roles.


I believe good things take time and we are all in the same boat at some point in our lives.


In my spare time I enjoy boxercise fitness classes and walking my dogs in the quarry and woods.
