Benson House is a purpose-built luxury care home, providing quality nursing, residential and dementia care for up to 70 residents on a permanent and short stay basis, giving you peace of mind that if your care needs change, they can support you. Their own fully trained nurses have specialist expertise and are chosen for their compassion and experience.

Luxuriously furnished with a cosy feel with various lounges which are perfect for socialising, a cinema room, bistro area and hairdressing salon, there’s plenty to keep residents engaged. With landscaped gardens and wind-proof glazed balconies providing outdoor seating all year round. Situated opposite the River Thames with strong links with the local community.

They are proud to be the only care home group to have their own unique award-winning dementia training ‘My World’ which is accredited by City and Guilds. It highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, in addition to addressing clinical aspects of care.

Safety and comfort are a foremost concern, so all rooms are fitted with a nurse call system and acoustic monitoring for residents' peace of mind. As well as improving quality of sleep, acoustic monitoring can help to reduce the risk of falls. For those living with memory loss or dementia, design features include dementia-friendly elements such as interior decoration, new stable door feature, light levels, floor coverings and signage which help to promote a sense of calm and wellbeing, while enabling people living with dementia to find their way around independently and safely.

Benson House is excellent and I loved my stay there, and I have already booked two more stays. Everyone who works there goes out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and that they did in abundance. Thank you to each and every one of you for looking after me so well. Benson House should be so proud

My husband recently completed a three weeks respite stay at Benson house. Having been very apprehensive to begin with, at the end of his stay he was almost sorry to leave. Feeling distinctly sad at leaving friends behind. From the minute we arrived, we were met at the door by key staff and made to feel
welcome. The warm, friendly, professional and personalised care was evident throughout. We are definitely planning on a return visit.

Of all the homes I have visited in recent months to see if that home might be suitable for my wife and some respite for her, the Benson Home was outstanding. It is newly built and has the advantage of modern design and facilities but is also has a lovely atmosphere of calm, beauty, efficient management
and great and real, care. The whole building and fittings is of what I would describe as five star hotel quality but above all is its culture of really caring for all of its residents. What is absolutely obvious from the first arrival is every member of management and staff has one main objective and that is to provide a home for its residents as close to what their own families and homes would provide. The detailed training is obviously and rightly of supreme quality, but what is different is that the whole service and culture used and provided is one of real love and care. In my view, it is what any resident would wish for. My wife felt she was at home.

We were quite apprehensive about Mum spending some time at a care home, but right from our first visit, we were put at ease by the cheerful and professional welcome and the genuine kindness and attentiveness from all the staff. During her stay, Mum rediscovered her former buzz for life, and her self-confidence
grew daily. She started drawing and painting again, and she loved getting to know the other residents, either over the delicious 3-course meals in the restaurant or out on the patio or in the beautiful gardens, during the many activities, or just while relaxing with a cup of tea. The whole environment at Benson House is calm and welcoming and it is a cheerful and uplifting place to be. But it is the genuine care and attentiveness of the staff which makes it outstanding. I would not hesitate to recommend them for anyone looking for anything from some temporary respite to a longer-term caring and nurturing home. The original meaning of Care Home is often overlooked, but Benson House provides just that.

My 87-year-old Mum stayed at Benson House for 2 weeks respite, whilst my family went on holiday. It is probably fair to say that Mum wasn't keen, but was equally worried about being left at home alone. However, she need not have worried, the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. The care
home itself is beautiful and very well equipped but what really made the whole experience was the staff. We felt welcome right from the start when we arrived to see a personalised welcome notice on the front door! All the staff were very friendly and attentive and Mum's care was very centred around her individual needs. I particularly liked how they introduced her to the other residents, as it can be quite daunting being the 'newbie'! I visited a couple of times before going on holiday and Mum seemed very settled. She enjoyed the activities and the company of the staff and the other residents. Mum is planning on a return trip next time we go on holiday - a success for all of us!

Thank you to all the staff for their caring, patience, dedication, professional personal input and friendliness. Visitors always made to feel welcome. The accommodation is second to none. Cleanliness excellent. Food looked delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. They were constantly in touch with Dr's,
district nurses, also Sue Ryder, whatever the needs.

My husband has been a resident in Benson House for four weeks. Due to the care and kindness of the staff, he has settled in amazingly well. The staff treats the residents with total respect and their thoughtful care preserves the dignity of the resident. The home and gardens are absolutely beautiful
throughout the home, a true home from home. The meals are first class and the chef and his team take huge pride in the preparation and presentation of all meals which are served in a lovely dining room or weather permitting Al Fresco. There is a busy activity programme and the activity coordinator with the help of the caring team organise activities suitable for all residents. Everyone is encouraged to get involved in some way and the days are busy with interesting and purposeful recreational activities. I am so pleased that I found Benson House and I feel very happy and confident that he is in a first-class quality care home and cared for by a team of professional and dedicated staff.

Job Title: Home Manager

As the Home Manager, I believe in enhancing the lives of our residents and that they should be able to live the life they want. I enjoy taking on the responsibilities that come with managing a home and I encourage the inclusion of everyone in the home, to create a friendly environment and a great place for us all to live, work and visit.


I have been qualified as a licensed nurse since 1996 in the Philippines and a Registered Nurse in the UK since 2004 with me being a Senior Nurse for over 12 years. I am proud to have been promoted from Deputy Manager at Benson House to the new Home Manager and have the opportunity to support and develop the team at the home to create a culture where continuous learning is encouraged and valued.


I operate an open-door policy and am approachable, not only to my team but to the residents and their relatives too as it is their home. I encourage residents to make their rooms their own, by bringing in personal items to help make them homely for them.


I am passionate about being able to support and develop my team and seeing team members grow in their roles at the home as I work with them to offer the best care and environment possible for our residents.


I have lived in Benson for over two years and our home has a strong connection with the local community, and this is something that I am proud of and want to develop further. My favourite aspect of the local area is the river that the home overlooks and the accessibility to Oxford Centre.


In my spare time, I enjoy cooking and I like to create new dishes while cooking for my family and friends.
