The Grange Care Home accommodates up to forty residents across two floors, under the compassionate care of the manager, who brings a wealth of experience from the care sector and is passionate about delivering the highest standards of person-centred care and support.

From the moment you step into the home, you’ll be embraced by its warm and welcoming atmosphere. A new building situated in the grounds of Debden Grange Retirement Village, its facilities are superb and the highest standards of care, support, and social interaction are delivered with dignity, kindness, and compassion.

The home is designed to be exactly that – a home. For the residents who are mobile, they’re in a place to live as they would normally, with the added pleasure of having company (and no chores). For the residents in need of additional support, The Grange's facilities are exceptional, geared to the compassionate administration of individual care and support.

Each floor has its own lounge and dining areas, on the ground floor The Audley Suite opens out onto a large terrace where residents will be able to enjoy afternoon tea with their guests and visitors in the summer months. The Grange's hospitality team will be on hand to serve hot and cold beverages, delicious cakes and bakes, with snacks available around the clock.

The communal areas are light, airy and inviting spaces to socialise, sit quietly, entertain guests, or join in with group activities. The residents choose how to spend their day, just as they would at home.

My wife has been resident in The Grange Care Home since 30th November 2020 and from the very beginning, been welcomed and well-cared for. She is very happy, and we have been able to speak and see her on FaceTime every day and visit her once every week during the lockdown.
I have the highest regard
for all the staff at The Grange.

Making the decision to place Mum in a care home was the hardest thing we have ever had to do. Her live-in carer could no longer provide the care Mum needed as her Alzheimer’s progressed. We looked at many homes before finding The Grange and knew the moment we visited that this would be Mum’s new home.
It has more than lived up to our expectations and has proved to be a real ‘home’, not just a place that Mum lives and is cared for. The staff are wonderful and Mum is so happy. Our family has not lost a Mum, we have gained a whole new family. Thank you, you wonderful people.

My 82-year-old Mum recently had a 3-week respite stay at The Grange following a fall at her own home where she broke both her wrists. The Grange was amazing, both in Mum's immediate physical needs and her mental well being during a stay in a period where she could have limited family visitors due to
the pandemic. She was treated no differently to any of the other residents and I can't speak highly enough of the professional and compassionate way all the support and care staff approached their duties every day. They ensured that Mum participated in as many activities as possible to help rebuild her strength and confidence. Mum is a young 82 year old and she really did not relish going into a care home, however The Grange really does strive and succeed in being a modern care home for the 21st century. We wouldn't think twice to go back to The Grange should Mum ever need residential care again and we can't recommend it highly enough.

When the time comes for us to pass our loved one into the care of others, it is one of the most important decisions we will have to make. I have been married to my lovely wife for nearly 64 years, and after caring for her for 4-years, the time came that I could no longer cope, it was, as for all of
us that put our loved one into a home, a heartbreaking decision. I visited a number of care homes in our local area, and although all, I know are staffed by lovely, caring people, we eventually decided on The Grange. We are so pleased we did, I know after 9-months that the decision was the right one, the dedicated staff in the most difficult of times, have shown love and compassion for my wife. The home itself is a lovely comfortable place to be, more like a hotel with all modern conveniences, and the food is lovely and beautifully presented. I can speak from first-hand experience of this because I spent a week in respite care in The Grange over Christmas; the best Christmas of my life.

My Mum stayed in The Grange for two weeks respite care after leaving hospital. The care she was given was excellent. The premises are beautiful and kept to an extremely high standard. The food equals anything you could find in a top restaurant and everybody carries out their duties to the highest standard.
Would thoroughly recommend The Grange and wish them every success for the future.

My Nan went to The Grange for 2 weeks respite and I cannot thank the staff and management enough! They have not only taken the best care possible of my Nan but also kept us family members informed and up to date on my Nan's progress during these awkward times. Without them we couldn't have coped and
their constant updates have been a huge help and relief to the family knowing our beloved family member is ok and safe. The staff at this home go above and beyond their duties and for this I am eternally grateful. I wholeheartedly recommended this home to anyone looking for a safe haven for any loved one.

My gran has been in this care home for 3-months now, and she has come on so much, her well-being has complete changed, she is a totally different person. I get to visit my gran now which I am so grateful for, and I know she is safe within this care home.

Our Dad has been a resident of The Grange Care Home for over two months. He arrived in April, still quite poorly after a long spell in hospital. He was so frail and had lost a lot of weight. Since his arrival, the lovely staff have worked so hard to help him recuperate; building him up by tempting him
with the delicious food, cakes, biscuits and constant cups of tea. Although we have been unable to visit him at this time, we have had updates from the staff and regular video calls with Dad. He is so much better physically and he seems so content to be at The Grange. The staff are all so caring and compassionate; they very quickly assessed Dad’s individual needs and requirements and set about doing their very best to make him feel comfortable and happy in his new home. He really is in the best place and our whole family is so grateful and looking forward to the day we are able to visit Dad at The Grange and meet all the staff in person.

My mum has been in the care of The Grange since the end of March.
I have seen a marked improvement in my mum's well-being. She is so happy.
Mum is being so well cared for and the staff are very caring and professional.
Bonus - The food is also amazing, Mum loves it.

I was very pleased and impressed with the service that I received when contacting The Grange. I was not given a lot of time to move my aunt to a home and they gave all the help they could, to get her settled in quickly. All staff very helpful in settling her in and making her feel at home. My mother, who has dementia, had to go into The Grange from her own home, at very short notice, as my father went into hospital. The staff at The Grange were so helpful in facilitating her move there, not only in the paperwork type things but also in respect of my mother's specific needs, especially
as my mother's world changed considerably in a few days. I was able to get updates on how my mother was settling in, without feeling that I was a nuisance. I feel that The Grange Staff care of my mother, although we are in the early days, is flexible to accommodate my mother's changing needs. We are hoping that my father will join her at The Grange.

Lijo Varghese is our Home Manager at The Grange Care Home. Lijo has been in various managerial roles in a care home setting since 2017, starting as a Clinical Nurse Manager. He has been a registered nurse since 2007 and specialised in diabetes with a growing passion to care for others. Lijo loves to see residents smile and will always be there to support his staff, residents, and family. He is excited to be our home manager and part of our wonderful team in Newport.
