Myself and my sister are utterly delighted with the care Mum receives at Upton Mill. Mum's care is tailored specifically to her needs and we are frequently given updates and included in discussions about what Mum would like best. Mum is always so happy to be at Upton Mill and the atmosphere couldn't
be better. The whole team are excellent. Mum really enjoys the food and her room is lovely. Thank you so much.

I arrived at Upton Mill from hospital to stay for six weeks of respite care. Since my arrival, the staff have been consistently attentive, friendly and caring. As a result, I am feeling considerably better in myself and have decided to become a permanent resident. I have had lots of friends and family
visit me since I arrived and all have commented on the standard of accommodation and the friendly staff. I look forward to becoming an active resident in our little community here in Tetbury.

I moved into Upton Mill Care Home in March on a cold and windy day. I was feeling excited because I had already made one visit to this warm and welcoming place and knew that there would be friends looking out for me. I was greatly shocked when I saw how many bags and boxes had arrived, while I was having
lunch. Within 15-minute, everyone joined in to help, and soon I could relax in my warm and comfortable room, which was to be my next home.

My mum moved to Upton Mill last October and is extremely content in her surroundings. Her ground floor room overlooks a beautifully designed communal outdoor area, and all of the indoor communal areas are stylish yet comfortable. The care she receives is excellent, the staff kind, caring, fun and good
company. A variety of activities are on offer (to opt-in or opt-out of), and the food is apparently delicious! I have been very impressed with my dealings with the staff, and I would not hesitate and recommend Upton Mill as an excellent care provider.

My wife and I stayed at Upton Mill, Tetbury for two weeks, following her minor stroke. Because of our ages, we had been locked down since March. For a new home, only open recently, the staff were well trained and the Covid precautions well applied. We were very comfortable and made welcome. The premises
were immaculate and not institutional in any way. The facilities were excellent, the menus varied and the food good. We were very happy with our stay at Upton Mill.

All staff are excellent without exception, in all departments. Surroundings are delightful. Immediate response to any help needed by merely pressing a bell. Any very minor difficulties dealt with straight away.

Respite care for my parents was arranged very quickly following my mother’s discharge from the hospital having had a stroke. It enabled us to arrange to have care in place for when they could return home. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The home is delightful with excellent facilities.
It was very reassuring knowing that they were in such good hands and being well cared for. A big thank you to everyone who took care of them!

As mum was patient number one, there were clearly going to be teething problems. In the most part, these were swiftly and efficiently sorted out. The pre-admittance procedures were extremely thorough and reassuring. Mum seemed to enjoy the activities, especially her priorities being chatting, being
outside and playing cards! On discharge, Mum was grateful for the care that has been shown to her, as was I.

Kym Wagstaff

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Hello, my name is Kym Wagstaff, and I am the Deputy Manager here at Upton Mill.


I hold a dual qualification as an RGN and paramedic, and I have worked in both the NHS and private sectors for over 30 years. I am passionate about supporting senior individuals in living life to the fullest in a caring and high-quality environment that caters for their needs. I have worked at Upton Mill for just over three years, and when I walk through our home's front doors I feel that I am walking into the home of 64 individuals.


I care about our team and thoroughly enjoy working with them to unlock their full potential so that they can grow and learn in an environment that supports the six C's of care: care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment.
