My brother came to Tyne Grange approximately 4 years ago after spending quite a long time in hospital and the management and staff have always shown him dignity and respect, compassion, responsive care, and support and well-being. The principles of life are to make my brother feel human again but take
the time and recognise individuals and prioritise and support physical, emotional, and social needs and offer a wide range of activities for residents at home and outside. Also, good quality food choices and options about where to eat meals. Fast and easy access to health professionals, such as GPs and dentists etc. Tyne Grange is a very unique care home which makes sure any cultural, religious or lifestyle needs are met. Offer a safe, clean, and comfortable environment, with trained staff who provide personalised care and support and who always work well as a team. All the staff are very approachable, including managers and I'm so glad to have my brother there in their care.

Everybody is quick to complain when things go wrong or they have had bad service, but nobody says thank you. I`ve been in many care homes that I wouldn't leave my shoe print in, let alone a compliment, however, here at Tyne Grange, things are very different and the staff - all the staff (day and night)
are really, really good and attentive. However, one sticks out more than most as she hasn`t done care before and she is so kind and lovely and looks after me so well. She sees what needs doing to me before I know myself, she knows my likes and dislikes and checks up on me just about every 5 minutes. I didn't feel very well this afternoon and she went quickly to the nurse asking her to check on me, as I was nodding off with my head down. She was so concerned, she was just about in tears she's one in a million.

I moved to Tyne Grange at the end of September 2020. I think this is the best move I could have made. The staff were very welcoming and continue to be caring, trusting and supportive every day. They are simply fantastic! All the staff from management to domestics and the therapy team work together to
make "every day better" for me and have helped me change my life for the better. I feel listened to and heard for the first time. I have a lovely big room that I have personalised, I'm able to follow my interests and hobbies at anytime and I'm supported and encouraged to do this. Team Tyne Grange are simply my people.

Our daughter moved into Tyne Grange in April after a very emotional year. From our first contact with the manager and her deputy, we have been overwhelmed with the kindness, caring and highly professional approach to making sure everything was just right for her. Every single member of staff we have
dealt with have been truly amazing, going above and beyond our expectations. The welcome, even at our first visit, was warm, reassuring and whilst emotional at times, we never felt rushed and no question/S went unanswered. We received so much help in navigating assessments, which were invaluable to us and our daughter. Every member of staff wanted to get to know our daughter as well as ourselves to ensure she was going to receive a care package that was centred around her and her needs. Everyone has a smile at all times, I never thought you could find a home that didn’t feel like a care home full of such kind compassionate and caring staff. Our daughter said she feels so lucky every day.

My sister has been a resident at Tyne Grange since it opened last year. She has progressed beyond our expectations, and this is due to the staff team at Tyne Grange being so good with her - they have been compassionate with excellent communication, and despite the challenges that the pandemic has brought,
have always gone above and beyond to keep me informed how she is. The environment there is amazing, but it’s the staff that are the best.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.227)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.227) out of 10 for Tyne Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for Tyne Grange is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.227 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tyne Grange is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 22 registered maximum number of service users is 4.4. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.4 = 0.227

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
