My husband came into Abbey Wood for a short time with dementia. The love and care all the staff gave him and myself and my 2 sons was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Even making up a reclining chair for me to sleep in next to my husband meant so much to me as I didn't want to leave him.
When he passed away, a young carer (male) came in, he bowed to my husband and put his hand across his chest in prayer. I will always remember that moment.

My family and I are extremely delighted with the care, attention and support Dad receives from Abbey Wood Park Nursing Home. We took considerable time trying to find a suitable home for Dad and we are delighted to have chosen Abbey Wood as Dad is very happy and settled there. The staff are very friendly
and welcoming and cannot do enough for residents and families. We would highly recommend this care facility which provides great care, is fun, clean and has a spacious well-maintained environment. They take pride in their work and arrange lots of events and experiences for all in their care - when possible.

My mum was transferred here after a four-month stay in the hospital after a fall resulting in a broken hip. My mum sufferers from vascular dementia/Alzheimer's. The care and compassion my mum has received are excellent, consistent and kind.

My nan has been at this care home since August. She had come from another care home where she, unfortunately, had a fall and broke her hip and ended up in hospital. The hospital were trying to move her to other care homes, saying we did not have a choice and were moving her regardless. We had viewed
other care homes but we did not like the standards there. We viewed Abbey Wood Park after being recommended by the hospital to try and get my nan in here. Since my nan has been there the staff have been lovely, she is always happy being looked after. The Manager is always around on the floor and strives to help in any way she can. Thank you so much!

Twelve days ago my husband moved into Abbey Wood Park Nursing Home. This difficult time for us was eased by welcoming and supportive staff. Over this short time, management and staff understand his health and care needs and he is given attentive one-to-one support. He is treated with dignity, respect
and the care he is receiving is exceptional. The atmosphere is bright, the environment clean and safe. Plus he enjoys the food! Thank you Abbey Wood Park Nursing Home. Our family appreciate the care you are giving.

This nursing home is outstanding. The care and love that they give to my mum-in-law is second to none. They treat her and us with dignity and respect and do everything they possibly can to make the whole experience a joyful one. We are involved and updated regularly and it feels like being part of an
extended family. All of the staff from the manager, office team, and the truly dedicated care and nursing staff work so very hard and do so with a smile on their faces and with kindness at all times. Thank you for all that you do.

I cannot speak highly enough about the care my friend has received since being admitted to Abbey Wood Park Nursing Home a few weeks ago. He had been through some traumatic experiences over the past 18 months and was seriously neglected in his previous nursing home. I have seen a significant transformation
in the overall approach to his complex needs. He has no mobility and is, therefore, unable to engage in any activities - however, the rating for everything else, in my opinion, is excellent. The management of this nursing home is on another level. Many thanks!

Excellent, caring and understanding are the main words I would use when we needed to find another nursing home for my mother. Transition from an upsetting situation to being settled into Abbey Wood Park Nursing Home was made so much easier from the professional and caring staff.

My Aunt was admitted to Abbeywood at Lunchtime on Christmas Eve 2021 after a stay at hospital. It was a flurry of activity for me trying to get clothes sorted plus sorting out everything for our family Christmas Day. I was contacted by a member of staff at the home who was so reassuring. Very helpful
talking me through the procedures in place at the home and reassuring me my Aunty was all fine and settling into the home. She was there more due to needing to convalesce than anything else. Needing building up after a few traumatic weeks for her. She was assigned to lovely nurses who made sure she was happy during her stay. They became so fond of her and she likewise became good friends with them. Communications during her stay were fantastic. The home was spotlessly clean. Food she told me was lovely but most of all she sang the praises of all the staff. She has returned home a new person and is singing the praises of the nursing home. Thank you for the care given to her. Fantastic staff.

Avoid at all costs. My mum experienced two unexplained falls out of bed. One resulting in a head injury with a wound to the left eyebrow resulting in going to A&E. Mum also suffered two unexplained skin tears on her right shin, both within a week. An ambulance was called for on three separate occasions,
she was taken to A&E. She has advanced dementia and the first time was sent on her own. When I got to the hospital my mum was extremely distressed. I asked the care home manager why mum was sent on her own and she said it was because of covid. I had to point out that people with dementia are allowed one person with them when they are taken to the hospital. On the second and third occasions, they tried to send her again unaccompanied! The second time the staff thought she had had a stroke, in fact, it was dehydration and a urine infection!
The staff were very nice individually but couldn’t work as a team. Poor communication between staff with regard to residents care needs. If you value your loved one do not put in here.

On behalf of my mam, she was very happy with the care she received and had no complaints. Regarding myself, when I rang up they were very obliging and explained things to me about mam. I believe no one can pass comment, only the patient, and mam felt safe.
