As a premier home, we have an extensive menu, devised by nutritional experts specifically designed to meet the needs of our residents. Where our residents have additional nutritional needs, we refer to our community dietitian and develop a bespoke care plan. I wanted to let you know that we do have a retention plan for our staff team which has included a change in pay scale and a new reward and benefit scheme for the team. The home manager is continuously working on new ways to develop and invest in her team to help them feel valued.

Mossdale Residence is a new home so it is good to hear your feedback of the café/bar area, we hope that our residents and visitors continue to enjoy many happy times spent there, at the heart of the home. I am pleased to learn that your overall experience is positive, however I note your feedback about the challenges you find with your Mum's personal care at times. The journey living with Dementia is different for everyone, we have selected our care team with this in mind and are excited that many new colleagues have recently joined us in 2023, strengthening the care teams in our Nursing, Residential and Memory Care Communities. HC-One is also pleased to offer staff working at Mossdale Residence dedicated Dementia Training, in addition to the initial induction training and general training delivered within HC-One. Mossdale staff also work closely with other agencies in York including the Care Home and Dementia Team to develop support plans for our residents as new needs are identified. We are always keen to hear your feedback and the Home Manager would be pleased to meet with you if you would like to discuss your experiences and feedback further.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We have recently recruited many new colleagues and have many more currently going through our onboarding process. We have doubled our well-being resource and are currently onboarding a colleague for this role; we are advertising for a colleague to support us with driving the home's minibus. We are a commissioning home, and we are opening areas of the home in a phased approach, to ensure our staff and the facilities are fully able to support new residents. This does mean that some areas of the home are not currently in use, but alternatives such as lounges with large-screen TVs, smaller more intimate lounges and personal TVs in each bedroom are all available.

We have a full-time Wellbeing Co-ordinator employed within the service who solely supports residents with activities. We have activity planners displayed across the home which can evidence what we have planned for each day. We will get the Wellbeing Co-ordinator to reach out to you so that we can let you know what we currently have planned and you can share what you feel your husband would like to participate in.
