Dip in attention to detail this month. Not the high standard of continuity previously encountered. Front door still open on occasion early evening, cleaning of high traffic items such as door handles slipped, couple of occasions of no towel in bathroom. Closing missing or other persons clothing in cupboard.

This home is quite insperational with Activities, care and wellbeing. It's like a five star hotel with care.
Nothing is too much trouble from all the lovely staff from management down.
My sister is very happy here + would happily book myself in when the time comes! But please change the 'Brown' carpet
on Memory Lane to the lovely turquoise of downstairs!
Having said that, 'carer' is more important than decor.
This is a 1st class care home - Thank you Moors Manor.

My mum has thoroughly enjoyed her fourth respite stay at Barchester Moors Manor Care Home. She is full of enthusiasm for the caring and supportive staff and the lovely environment that she experiences when she stays. We are confident to leave Mum whilst we get a break because we know the staff are kind,
helpful and competent in their roles. The entertainment and activities provided that they manage Mum to engage in are brilliant! The food is fab. Thank you all very much. We appreciate you all.

The carers on Memory Lane are always attentive and go the extra mile to make my mum and the other residents feel at home. The shared dining and lounge areas, along with her room, offer a lovely view of the gardens and forest. She loves the dancing and singing social activities and is quite the entertainer!
It's
nice to see her smiling on social media, even from afar. Being able to call in anytime, day or night, to chat with someone on the floor or speak directly with my mum is incredibly reassuring. As her dementia is progressing, knowing that she's well cared for brings us some peace of mind.

Brilliant place. We were worried that our family member would not feel comfortable or settled in "a home". We need not have worried at all. He loves it. Lots of social and mental interaction. All care needs are met. The food is superb. It's like a 5-star hotel.
The decor is lovely and everything is

My Father came in to the home for 2 weeks respite care approximately 2 months ago and after the first week he said that he wanted to stay as a permanent resident. He has always been able to take care of himself and after a fall where he was down on the floor for 24 hours plus, he was left with quite
a few issues. He has since been able to become a new man, he goes to various entertainment experiences, and gardens, does yoga, eats unaided any meal he fancies, and loves to joke with all the staff. You always feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Since coming to the home Dad had a stroke in the night, but he was found quickly by the staff and was only in hospital for 2 days and now is better than ever.

Everything about the care home is absolutely perfect - lovely, comfortable room with shower room included. Staff are so caring and helpful. Daily menu throughout my stay has been excellent with a variety as at home! I have enjoyed my care/stay and will hope to return again in the autumn when my family
will be away. My grateful thanks go to all the staff who have supported my stay. Meals greatly enjoyed, just as home! You all deserve a very large thank you for your great kindness and care to detail. I have been well blessed. Will hope to come again when my daughter and son-in-law are away sometime in the autumn.

My father-in-law was admitted to Moors Manor for a short spell before we lost him to dementia.
But the kindness, care and compassion we were all shown in his final days was amazing.
The staff did everything they could to make sure he was comfortable, and they cared for my mother-in-law, husband
and sister-in-law just as beautifully.
I cannot fault this service. From the staff to the facilities. The manager has built a fantastic team and as a family, we thank them.

After my introduction visit, this care home has turned out to be all that I envisaged and more. All the carers are so kind and thoughtful, whether day or night on duty. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for any of them, most are chatty and are friendly, all have helped me recuperate from my hip replacement.
They are all absolute stars.

Gemma Chalkley

Hello. My name is Gemma Chalkley and I am the General Manager here at Moors Manor. Welcome to our website.


I aim to ensure residents, staff, families and visitors all feel they are in a caring, welcoming environment and being supported by every member of our team.


I have worked in adult care for 16 years with broad experience in the care sector. I started as a carer in a residential setting, quickly progressing to Senior and eventually changed course to nursing, where I became a Care Practitioner and gained clinical skills and knowledge alongside nurses. 


Barchester has a high standard of care and a superior lifestyle delivered throughout the company, and I endeavour to deliver those same values in our home. I am passionate about elderly care and I love making people smile by doing all I can to brighten their day. I am always available for a chat about our home, staff, services and most importantly, our residents.


Out of work, I am a mum to a teenage boy and have 2 dogs, who are my babies! I enjoy reading, Marvel films, paddle boarding and family time.

Hello my name is Laura and I am a Registered General Nurse here at Moors Manor. I have been a registered general nurse for 15 years. When I first qualified after studying at Southampton University I worked in hospitals for many years to gain more experience. I then worked as a senior nurse in a complex care setting for seven years. After this I then became a district nurse where I gained extensive experience in care nursing.


What I love about my job is being able to deeply connect with residents and their families providing them with comfort, support and ensuring dignified care. I have gained a great passion for palliative care, being able to spend time with the resident and their family.


In my spare time I volunteer at my church to help the elderly people get to hospital appointments. I also love spending time with my family, cooking and hosting dinners for everyone to enjoy.

Hi, my name is Katie I am the Community Care Lead here at Moors Manor. I started working as a carer and gradually moved my way up to be a senior, now a community care lead. I have worked in care for the past 5 years in nursing, dementia and residential homes, this has helped me gain clinical skills and knowledge that I find will help me in the future of potentially becoming a nurse. I am so passionate about my job and very hard working, I love to make the residents smile and make their day brighter in any way I can, I will always make sure the residents will receive the highest standards of care and that they feel supported and comfortable with me. During my career I have gained experience in running and developing businesses, contract and finance management, training, and development for chefs. Career highlights include retaining a Michelin Star in Waldo's 28 seated private dining restaurant at Cliveden House, as well as receiving and retaining a Michelin Star, BIB Gourmand at the Rose Street Restaurant in Wokingham, Berkshire.
