The facilities are excellent and the care staff are well trained, respectful, and polite. The provision of food promised (Masterchef cook level) fell far short and to some extent still falls short of the sales pitch we were given. The home obviously struggled to hire a decent chef.
Management are
generally disorganised and initially struggled a lot to achieve things that should have been thought through e.g. no process for labelling bedclothes and clothes (my mother has still had personal laundry that has not been returned). There was no real onboarding process when she moved in and we were left to figure out what to do e.g. when showers would be arranged, what days cleaning would be done, when the doctor was coming etc. Showers were orgainsed for 5 am and pills were being delivered to my mum's room at very late hours until we pointed that out.
There has been slow improvement and when issues are raised, there is a genuine attempt to resolve them. More proactivity would be good.

Having Parkinson's meant that I found I could not cope on my own. It was vital that any care home provided suitable support while allowing me appropriate independence. Signature at Beckenham does just that.
The brand new facilities mean that the care home provides an excellent level of care. Matched
to this the staff are amazing, both in their approach and willingness to help in any way they can. And knowing that there are high-level medical support facilities gives peace of mind. The home provides a range of quality activities that exercise both physically and mentally and over, which each individual resident has the choice of attending or not.
Yes, there were teething problems, but the management approached and resolved them in an organised and professional manner. There were a few introductory problems in the food and beverage department, but again these were resolved through top staff recruitment and involvement of the residents.
I am very fortunate to be a resident here.

I am so pleased that we have Signature as the place for my mum to be. The home is spotlessly clean and well designed for the needs of the residents; we have described it to many as like a 'five-star hotel'. It appealed to us because there are many different spaces that the residents can use; it is not
how we imagined a care home would be. The staff are caring and thoughtful, taking into consideration all of Mum's needs whilst she has been recovering from a nasty broken arm. Mum found moving into someone where new quite distressing at first, but the staff have worked hard to address her mobility and personal care needs. Over the past two years, Mum was very isolated at home, now she has all her meals with the other residents and joins in with different activities daily. She is settling well, and the staff have gradually increased her well-being - even organising a small birthday celebration for family and friends, including some of the new friends that Mum has made at Signature.

Really excellent in every respect. Great facilities, great food, great rooms and fantastic staff. I can’t think of a better place - everything is taken care of, and nothing seems too much trouble. Like a 5-star hotel!

The home has given my mother a new lease of life. The facilities and the excellent staff all combine to make this a very happy place for her. For me, it gives me the peace of mind that comes with knowing that there is always help on hand.

My parents have recently moved to Signature at Beckenham, and are both in the Dementia suites with my mother having extra care to meet her needs. From the very first visit, my husband and I were welcomed into this beautiful residential care home and were shown around by the client liaison team, who
were professional, knowledgeable and took the time to answer all our questions as well as give us excellent advice. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
When we decided that we wanted my parents to come to Signature, the assessments were arranged promptly and respectfully. At that time, I had one parent in Hastings and the other near Bromley. Our family situation has been extremely stressful and complex, but Signature helped make the transition go smoothly and fully empathised with the sensitivity of our family needs.
The care and attention that my parents are currently experiencing are amazing, and the staff are doing everything they can to make my parents feel valued and happy.

My aunt moved into the care home in October as one of the founding residents. It had been a significant choice to make as she moved from a different country without visiting the home. The team at Signature have been so accommodating, helpful, and kind throughout a very difficult period whilst we navigated
the move overseas and helped us at every stage. Since she has been there, every member of staff has been incredibly kind and caring towards her - she regularly says how wonderful everyone is. Every member of staff has taken time to get to know her, how she likes things done and has worked hard to make her feel at home. With the home being so new, there are, of course, teething problems, and not everything has worked smoothly - but they hold regular resident forums and have taken all feedback and worked to resolve issues and maintain what has worked well. They are also as warm and welcoming to the family as they are to the residents, and the whole experience to date has been excellent.

Maggie Middleton

I joined care homes and social care in April 2018 as General manager for the very successful Parklands Manor in Chertsey. Prior to that I had extensive senior management experience as a nurse and director in the NHS and private healthcare. I have found the move to Social care hugely rewarding in being able to focus on not only providing the highest quality care and physical security for our residents but also ensuring that we focus on mental and psychological wellbeing to maximise independence encouraging ‘living well in later life’
I have an MBA from Brighton University, and I have maintained my registered nursing qualification specialising in Trauma, Orthopedics and Ophthalmology. I also undertake CQC inspections up to three times per year as a specialist advisor for the CQC.
I am opened this new care home in October 2021 and have built a team that can offer a real sense of community and independent living and embedded within the Beckenham neighbourhood

I have worked for Signature since 2014 and love the ethos that Signature bring in supporting residents to live as independently as they wish while having excellent care on hand should they need it. I ensure that residents needs are met by co-ordinating the care team. I work closely alongside my colleagues to ensure we are delivering the best care for each resident.


I have a level 5 Diploma in leadership for Health and Social Care and over 15 year’s experience in social care. I have a real passion for elderly care and ensuring their needs are met in a holistic way. I love working with the residents and building a team to deliver the best person centred care. My role ranges from meeting and assessing new residents, communicating with relatives and external professionals to ensuring the team are well informed and trained in areas needed. You will always see me with a smile on my face, I am always happy to help.

I started my working career with a five year apprenticeship as an electrician working just off Parliament Square, central London, I then went to work as a machine engineer for Granada and subsequently went into gaming industry for over 21 years finishing in 2008 as a General Manager.


In 2008, I moved into care and have worked for a range of companies including small charities to the most luxurious of care homes where I worked as Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Engineer.


I have previously worked for Signature and knowing Signature’s ethos on training and innovation I was very keen to rejoin when the opportunity arose to assist in opening Signature at Beckenham, my first new-build Signature care home.


Since joining I have not been let down, my colleagues have all been very welcoming not just at Beckenham but at the other Signature care homes I have visited as well as all of the support staff visiting and supporting us here in Beckenham.


Having viewed the new home in the process of being constructed you can clearly see the difference between Signature and any other care home provider, from air conditioning in every room and vast amounts of space and great attention to detail it’s hard to think of anything that could be better, there are even large staff areas and staffrooms.


It’s great to be with a company that does really care about everyone.
