Our mother has been suffering with dementia for the past few years and having tried care at home we couldn't manage looking after her safely and well enough to keep her happy. Reluctantly we decided to move her to a care home where dementia care has a good reputation. Mum moved into Signature at Hendon
Hall in February. It's not been an easy move for any of us but we see that Mum is very well looked after and as the dementia is getting worse and Mum gets harder to manage the carers are always supportive to Mum and to us too. We feel Mum is stimulated by the activities and events there and she enjoys the food. So all in all it has given us some peace of mind and we can visit her and leave her there feeling she is in the best possible place for her now.

In October 2023 my family chose Signature at Hendon Hall for my father to spend some time convalescing after a spell in hospital. The Client Liaison Manager, Rakhee, was wonderful – professional, calm and welcoming and went out of her way to make sure Dad’s transition from hospital to his room was seamless.
The
elegant surroundings allow family members and friends to feel at ease when visiting. All the carers and nurses are fantastic; warm, engaging, sympathetic and patient. My father only spent a short time at Signature but we had no hesitation to use Signature again in January 2024 when my mother had a fall and needed a safe space to recuperate after the hospital. Mum’s room was bright, and contemporary and had a small living room which was perfect for visiting. When she felt stronger Mum thoroughly enjoyed the cinema room and having a spa bath. We would like to convey a huge thank you to all the staff who looked after her.

I stayed in Hendon Hall for 3 weeks following a hospital stay. I was recovering from a fractured pelvis and needed respite care before returning home. The food was good, the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I especially enjoyed the pet therapy, exercise class and talking to other residents. My
dog was allowed to visit me regularly, which was very important to me.
I was able to invite friends for a private lovely afternoon tea which was greatly enjoyable.
I would recommend Hendon Hall both as a live-in care home and for respite. Thank you, Hendon Hall.

Mum moved in a month ago and she's settling in really well. She really likes her room, the food is nice, especially the soups, and she's made a few friends already. She's particularly impressed with the staff - she says they are excellent and yesterday she told me that it's already feeling like home.
One thing she asked me to mention, although it doesn't affect her, is that wheelchair users have found the accessibility of the bathrooms, specifically the handbasin, is not great. Overall, we're really happy.

I first got in touch with the manager in the summer and she was very kind and friendly. She understood our needs and explained everything in detail. My brother-in-law and husband had a look at the home for both their parents originally. Now my father-in-law has lived there since November. I visit regularly
and love the place. I have fun having drinks, coffee and lunches with him. The only sad thing is that my dear mother-in-law didn’t make it there. The manager was amazing and so is everyone else who looks after him now.

My husband and I are so very impressed with everything to do with Signature at Hendon Hall. The staff are truly amazing and you can feel a strong sense of unity and a family atmosphere which exudes from everyone. We were very worried as to how our friend would cope and resist Hendon Hall. Everyone greets
her with such genuine care that we can relax knowing she is happy, although she does still think that she will be going home soon!
We have heard from one or two of the guests that the food is not very good, but have not experienced this. When we visit we on occasions have coffee and cake which is delicious. The decor is like a five star star hotel and 'Care Home'
could not be a better description for Hendon Hall. If there was one thing my husband would improve upon, it would be that the lighting is a bit stark in the rooms. We firmly believe the facility should get top marks.

I am very impressed with the care for my 96-year-old mother. All the care staff are warm, fun, friendly and always attentive to my mother’s needs. The facilities at Signature are first class, with beautiful lounges and a restaurant with a splendid cinema and bar. My mother really enjoys being stimulated

This is my father's 1st month at Signatute Hendon Hall. Everyone here is warm, friendly, professional and caring. The team have made him extremely welcome.
Dad is choosing to experience a variety of new activities. Prior to moving in, he was walking less and missed socialising. At Hendon Hall, he has
met nice people, feels happy and safe in his bright, comfortable, air conditioned apartment and is more mobile enjoying this new environment.
Signature has thoughtfully made the early days as supportive as possible and let him ease his way into his new home, providing for all of his needs with respectful care. Last week we hosted a lunch for 10 in the private dining room for his 90th. The food and wine flowed, it was fun and a good time was had by all.
This is a cool place too! It feels like a cross between a luxury cruise ship and a classy country hotel with the facilities to match.
We are really pleased with the way things have gone so far giving us all comfort and confidence for the future.

Mum came to Hendon Hall after she was in hospital and needed respite care for 4 weeks initially. She settled in quickly and the carers and staff were friendly, kind, attentive and supportive of her individual health needs. Dad came to visit her every day for two months and they took the decision to
both stay at Hendon Hall permanently. Whilst this wasn't an easy decision to make, this has changed their lives for the better. They are always busy with activities, socialising and most importantly they are both well cared for in a safe environment. Thank you to all the staff at Hendon Hall, it is a top-of-the-range care home!

My parents came here after Dad's back surgery. He is Mum's main carer and they were here for three weeks respite. Despite initial misgivings, they have been happy here. Praise to the supportive staff who have only treated them with kindness and dignity so thank you.

Ok, so I really want to try and express how much Signature Hendon Hall has changed our lives, but 1000 words simply isn’t enough. My mother was a danger to herself and we were at ‘wits end’ worrying about the next emergency call. Mum was sadly a frequent emergency inpatient at hospital, owing to frequent
falls.
So finally, we decided to search for a care home. We looked at three homes and quickly decided on Hendon Hall.
Mum has now been at Hendon Hall for nearly two months and she’s a changed woman, meeting new friends and some old friends who are now residents! A game of bridge, the garden, outings, many activities (including an in-house cinema); it's making me emotional writing this. She has now got loads of conversation and is walking again with her walker.
Almost forgot to mention, the whole team are top-notch. Simply nothing’s a problem. We love them all and thank them so much.

One member of staff was extremely helpful in our initial visit and subsequently is very charming. The lady at reception goes out of her way to support and even helps on every occasion. My husband's carer is fantastic and makes the stay here wonderful and cared for - he is excellent.

After qualifying with a Master in Nursing Science in 2012, I have been lucky enough to work throughout the UK and Australia within a wide range of specialities including accident and emergency, private health care, a maximum security prison and within a hospice. Whilst at the hospice, I moved quickly into management and became responsible for a team of wonderful nurses and carers, delivering specialist end-of-life care and symptom management to those with life-limiting diseases. I also led infection control, to ensure practice on the wards was both safe and up-to-date with any policy changes. I have worked in the care sector all my life and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. There is nothing more rewarding than making a positive impact on the lives of others and witnessing this first-hand. I have a clear passion for person-centred care, empowering others to become active participants and this is why I was attracted to Signature at Hendon Hall due to its ethos and values. I look forward to the challenges a new home represents, joining a fabulous team and the relationships that we will build with residents and their loved ones.

I have worked in care for 12 years, having started first in domiciliary care, then as a Care Assistant in a care home where I progressed to Team Leader. I gained my NVQ2 in Health and Social Care during this time. I have mostly worked in dementia care. Prior to that, I had worked in business administration, but I felt that due to having three children, care would suit me better. Having come from Africa where care homes are not available when my grandad became unwell, I wished more support could have been available for him. I now work in memory of him and give 100% to make him proud. When I joined Signature, I was looking for progression and development. I started as a Care Supervisor, then was promoted to Assisted Living Care Manager. The growth I desired has been available to me and I am excited to progress even further in the future. I have learnt a lot and I work with a great group of people who really feel like a family.

I love engaging with residents, guided by genuine empathy, always striving to provide the best for them. I believe my role serves as a vital connection between the home, its residents and their loved ones, ensuring everyone feels supported and cared for in the best possible way.

Job Title: Head chef

After working in the licensed trade for 25 years, I joined Signature at Bentley House, before transferring to Signature at Barnet (now Avery Barnet Grange Care Home) for their opening. During this time, I entered the NACC Chef of The Year competition, reaching the Regional Finals in 2021, 2022 and 2023 and progressing to the National Finals in 2021 and 2023. What I enjoy most about Signature at Hendon Hall is the interaction with the residents. I feel this is a major highlight, as I get to know them individually and can discuss their dietary needs. Doing so, I am about to find out their likes and dislikes, which I can then share with the rest of the kitchen team, therefore providing the best dining experience possible, whilst fulfilling their nutritional requirements.
