My mother moved to Barchester Snowdrop Place Care Home in February 2024 and loved her new home and all her 'helpers'. As the year progressed, she became unwell and needed more support. As relatives, we never needed to worry, she was looked after in every way possible to make sure that her quality of
life, dignity and care were never in question. Mum passed away at Snowdrop and the staff were just incredible and we truly don't know how we would have got through it without them.

My Mother stayed at Snowdrop Place for just over a month for respite. The initial welcome was warm and caring. On the whole, Mother seemed happy in the environment. Family were impressed when they visited. Mother appeared to be well looked after and the care team seemed well-trained and very approachable.
The negative for me was the emphasis on finance. It's a shame as towards the end of Mum's stay, it felt more like the caring side was overshadowed by the money. I fully appreciate it is a business, but this felt more like an enterprise! As an outsider looking in, who visited a few times but at different times of the day, the upstairs seems a huge waste of space. Several smaller, more intimate lounge areas which you could use when visiting would make more sense to me.

Our mum had two weeks respite care at Barchester Snowdrop Place Care Home following a spell in hospital. All the staff were so friendly and caring and she made great progress, both physically and mentally, and was able to return home to live independently with the support of carers. She really enjoyed
socialising with the other residents and attending all the excellent activities that were on offer. We were made very welcome every time we visited and nothing was ever too much trouble.

I am very happy with the overall care my mum has received at Barchester Snowdrop Place Care Home. The carers are very kind and helpful. The management is very proactive, arranging numerous events, particularly this Christmas. They are always willing to listen to any comments and we have a good relationship
with them. Since Mum moved into Snowdrop, she seems happier and her health needs are catered for. She is well dressed, well fed, clean and loves having her hair done and regular bubble baths. An area for improvement is better telephone access for family. Family have tried to contact Mum on numerous occasions without success. Mum thrives on hearing from her family.

My mum and family love the home, it is more like a posh hotel. My mum has put on weight because of the excellent food and so are we because of the gorgeous cakes, we are always made to feel welcome by the lovely, friendly staff. Mum is encouraged to join in with activities which she does enjoy, I would

Mum moved into Barchester Snowdrop Place Care Home at the end of September and I have been overwhelmed by both the home and staff.
The carers are unbelievable and nothing phases them or is too much trouble.
The room standard is fantastic and the food faultless.
I would definitely recommend Snowdrop
Place and feel that mum is with family even when I am not there.

Me and my family would like to thank Barchester Snowdrop Place Care Home for their kindness and professionalism with looking after my dad during his time with you. He enjoyed the activities especially the cricket match and the cinema. He was always talking about the food. The staff, all of them, were
kind and considerate making him comfortable, sadly he passed away during his stay. The staff helped him and the family though this difficult time, thank you all.

This is a great care home. Great premises and gardens but most importantly, great staff. The care given to my father was second to none. Very clean and super facilities and rooms too. The food provided and dining experience in the lovely dining room was perfect - my father had two weeks at Barchester
Snowdrop Place Care Home whilst I was on holiday and he loved it. I now have peace of mind of him going there during my next year's family holiday too.

From the moment we entered Barchester Snowdrop Place Care Home, we felt the friendliness and warmth from the staff and home. We were welcomed with smiles and given all the care and attention we needed.
Knowing my husband was being cared for in such a beautiful and caring home enabled me to recover

My parents spent a week at Snowdrop Place and used it as a base for us to take them out for day trips to visit family and old haunts.
The staff worked very hard to make my parents feel at home as quickly as possible and took on board their usual routines. They showed skill in helping my father with
his transfers and were very patient. It was a very welcoming environment and my niece, sister and I felt comfortable staying late one evening to watch Sewing Bee with my Mum.

After a significant medical procedure, my father enjoyed a brief period of respite at Snowdrop Place.
Upon our first visit and tour, we were struck by the cleanliness and comfort of Snowdrop Place, resembling more of a luxurious 5-star hotel than a typical care home. The staff exhibited friendliness
and professionalism in abundance.
My father's room had a lovely view of the garden, and he received excellent care and attention throughout his stay.
During our visits, the inviting front reception provided a pleasant space to relax, with the added perk of self-serve coffee and the temptation of irresistibly delicious cake.
Without hesitation, I would wholeheartedly recommend Snowdrop Place to others in search of a high-quality care home experience.

Mum has always loved dogs and I knew she enjoyed the regular visits from the PAT dog to the care home. Then recently I saw a photo of her with the dog and she is beaming. It means such a lot to know she has these moments of joy. As a family, we really appreciate all the carers and activity coordinators
do to bring this joy into the lives of the residents.

I cannot praise the staff or facilities at Snowdrop Place, near Hedge End in Hampshire, enough. They cared diligently for my elderly mother who arrived at Snowdrop at a very difficult time in her life. The staff at this care home were both compassionate and patient with my mother during her ten weeks
of respite care, which enabled her to go back to her flat after fully recovering from a badly broken hip and a serious urinary infection.

My friend's mother didn't want to leave her home of 45 years; however, needed additional support prior to an operation. She immediately made some special friends. The staff are amazing; they made her feel special and very much loved. It's a beautiful, kind, caring environment which cannot be recommended

Hi, my name is Gemma and I am the General Manager here at Snowdrop Place.


I have worked in the healthcare sector since 2015, in both public and independent services. As an experienced General Manager, I qualified as a registered Adult nurse in 2006 from the University of Southampton School of Nursing and Midwifery and then began my nursing career in the social care sector. My love for working with the elderly came like many, from looking after my grandmother in my teenage years.


I am extremely passionate about delivering exceptional, person-centred care to residents and ensuring high standards of support. Residents should have the opportunity to live their lives to the fullest. I enjoy working with residents, their loved ones and the staff team here at Snowdrop Place.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Hi, my name is Nicky and I am the Deputy Manager here at Snowdrop Place. I have a lot of experience working in this field, beginning in 2022 when I began as a part-time carer. I am passionate about my role within the home and team and I love interacting with the residents daily. It brings me joy to make a difference in their lives and to give back to the community in any way that I can.


Outside of my work, I have a busy life as a parent of three teenagers. They keep me on my toes and make sure that I am always on the go.
