My mum stayed for one week following surgery. All staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. The food was all made from scratch and was healthy and nutritious. The standard of cleanliness was excellent, and the ground was well maintained. My mum was looked after really well, and I am happy to recommend
this home.

My mother-in-law is in Bishop's Cleeve Care Home for respite care, with a view to staying. The staff were very helpful in setting this up for us at short notice, and have helped her to settle in well. She seems to be adjusting to being there and we hope she will stay. She enjoyed a "sing-song" yesterday!

Beautiful care home. Rooms have nice decor and ensuites. Lovely staff, amazing food and activities if wanted. Would highly recommend it. My father went for two weeks respite and is happy to go back, says it's like a holiday.

What a wonderful day we have had at Bishops Cleeve Care Home. My mother is a resident and has just celebrated her 100th birthday, an event she had been very much looking forward to.
She was able to invite her family and friends to celebrate with her and the management and staff went out of their way
to make it a day to remember. From a Happy Birthday serenade by the staff when she woke up, to then find decorations and photos of her life displayed around the home, and in the afternoon to be joined by many residents and their relatives for tea, bubbly and birthday cake - she couldn't have asked for more. Many thanks to every member of staff who helped to make this day so special - you are incredible!

I have just had to find a home for my 95-year-old mother, who has Dementia, is virtually blind and broke her hip in early May. She has always been adamant that she would not have a carer, a cleaner or go into a care home! But having come home from hospital it was quickly obvious we needed somewhere
safe for her to be loved and cared for, even if it was not what she wanted.
From my first telephone enquiry with Bishops Cleeve Care Home, I have been constantly reassured that this was not only the right decision for her but that we were really lucky to have found this home and that it was so close to her home.
All the staff are amazing, nothing has been too much trouble for them and though she is still very confused, she has already told us she is no longer lonely. It is a wonderfully run home, with staff always around and happy to sit and chat if needed.
The rooms are beautiful, small dining rooms ensure it is not too noisy and there is lots to do! I can never thank them enough!

After a stay in the hospital, we booked Mum in for some respite care with a view to her becoming a permanent resident as we knew she would no longer cope at home even with a care package. My sister and I visited the home prior to making a decision and were extremely impressed with everything we saw.
The home is furnished to a very high standard with well-thought-out soft furnishings, and the bedrooms are lovely. Sadly Mum was only at the home for just under four weeks before she passed away, but she was so well cared for, and it was a huge relief to us knowing that while she was there - she was safe and comfortable.

Our mother came into your care just over five weeks ago and as you will be aware, she passed away last Monday night. Whilst her stay was short, her care from you, as a team, was far from it. Nothing was too much trouble and although she would rather have been in her own home, your home soon became her
home. She was delighted with the care, tenderness and assistance provided in her time of need. Even towards the end when she became somewhat “trigger” happy with the assist button, the service never wavered and was always delivered with a smile and kindness. We are so pleased that we found you and grateful that you had space to accommodate our mother. It is never easy to make the decision to leave your own home but we took great comfort from the fact that mother was in a safe, friendly and attentive environment. As a family, please accept our heartfelt thanks, gratitude and appreciation for taking the time to care. We will never forget it, thank you all.

Our mother had 3 weeks' respite in Bishop's Cleeve Care Home in September 2022. She is now 105 years of age and in December 2022 became a permanent resident. The management and staff are always very attentive to Mum's needs. Thank you all for caring and nursing in such a professional way - and always

A very good experience, I stayed for two weeks respite care, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
The food was very good, but, beware you will probably put on weight.
The staff were friendly and helpful, especially during the night.
Rooms were comfortable and the furnishings excellent.
Altogether, I think
that it is well worth consideration if you are thinking of a care home.

My mother was first welcomed for a respite stay last December and is now a permanent resident. From the very beginning, my experience of the home has been outstanding. The management and staff have been fantastic, helpful, empathetic and supportive of Mum's needs. The facilities are amazing, the food
is excellent and the rooms are first-class. Can't knock it, I want to book a room for myself when the time comes.

My father went in to Bishop's Cleeve Care Home for 2 weeks of respite care. The home is more like a hotel than your typical care home, the layout, furnishings and cleanliness are all impeccable. All the carers were very kind and really looked after my father, nothing was too much trouble. One member
of staff, in particular, was very helpful with regard to administration and as a point of contact/communication and the maintenance chap even helped me move my father's rise and recline chair in and out of the car to his room, and he fixed his wheelchair! I would highly recommend this care home for your loved one.

I am a daughter of a resident who has been a resident for nearly a month at Bishop's Cleeve Care Home. I would like to say that I can see from my dad's reaction he really likes staying here, he said "this is my home/house" - how sweet of him. This means he feels at home, relaxed, loved and cherished.
I am very impressed with the quality of care provided for my dad, we are all very happy for him.

From our first tour to mum finally moving in, Bishops Cleeve Care Home has done nothing but make my mother feel welcome and at home. The manager and her team have been fantastic, caring and truly considerate of any of my mother's needs. I couldn't recommend this home enough as it takes all those doubts

A respite stay in another care home fell far short of expectations, and Mum was deeply unhappy. On entering Bishops Cleeve Care Home for the first time I had an overwhelming sense of relief not only are the facilities wonderful but the staff were so welcoming and I was given the opportunity to sit with
some of the residents to hear first-hand their opinion. The home is new and has the feel of a lovely hotel rather than a care home. For some aspects of this review, I’d like to give more than the maximum 5, the staff are so kind and caring whether it is the housekeeping team, care team or management, they look after the residents wonderfully but also are very welcoming to visitors. A three-course lunch is offered every day but the chef is more than willing, when possible, to cater for individual requests. Initially, some activities were limited due to staffing issues but management worked hard to resolve this so I am more than happy to rate this home 5*

After a fall and a short stay in hospital, I decided my wife and I needed full-time care so we made the decision to move into a care home. My granddaughter got in touch with the Bishops Cleeve Care Home. They gave her all the information she needed for us. The following week they came to do an assessment
and 2 days later, we moved in. The staff are so caring and are always checking on us to see if we are okay. The chef is really talented and makes amazing food. We are settling in well and loving our new home.

I have settled into this home very quickly, and this is my fifth week. The staff are lovely and have become my family; they are all very caring and friendly, nothing is too much trouble from the carers and management, such a homely atmosphere. I want for nothing, and I'm very happy here.

All the staff are good to deal with and have made a lot of effort to help my Father settle in. It has been a difficult time for him after quite a rapid deterioration in his health and we, his family, have been reassured with the care he has received. It is such a relief to feel he is safe and his needs

Hi, my name is Tanya, and I am delighted to be the Home Manager here at Bishop's Cleeve Care Home.


I have over 20 years of experience in healthcare and have worked in the care sector supporting those with an acquired brain injury, learning disabilities, general nursing and elderly care.


We offer first-class care for the elderly on a permanent or respite basis, delivered by highly trained professionals in our beautiful home.


Our philosophy is simple; we want everyone to enjoy life to the fullest. We never forget that all our residents are individuals, and we treat them with dignity, privacy and respect while offering freedom of choice and as much independence as possible.


Friends and family are welcome at any time. Hot drinks and snacks are always available, and our chef prepared three nutritious meals a day and the menu changes regularly to reflect seasonal produce. Special diets are catered for.


Our residents have the freedom to choose what to do and when. There is plenty going on and our Wellbeing Coordinator puts together a full programme which is adapted to suit the needs and wishes of our residents. Activities include, quizzes, sing-a-longs, reminiscence therapy, indoor games, art and craft, baking and wherever possible, trips out and about.

During my time here I have had the pleasure of caring for residents whilst working alongside an amazing team. I am passionate about providing the highest standard of person-centered care and believe that every resident deserves to be able to live a fulfilled life and I feel privileged to be able to be part of this.


I have three children and a four-year-old Golden Retriever who I often bring to the home on weekends. I am a successful photographer and hairdresser and have been able to incorporate these skills into the daily living of the residents within the home. I have held photography workshops with our residents and enjoy being able to pick my camera up and capture memories.


There is nothing more satisfying than leaving work knowing that I have made people smile.”
