Such an amazing and refreshing place for Auntie’s respite care. From first contact through to leaving to go home, the care of the homemakers and all the Elstow Manor team has been superb. The ‘about me’ document was a great tool to learn about the individual receiving care and making sure of tailored
support. The manor is bright and airy and the rooms extremely comfortable. The food is outstanding. Thank you so much for everyone’s care and hard work.

We recently used Elstow Manor to provide respite care for my mother who has very advanced Alzheimer’s. Her care needs are high as she is bed-bound and needs help with all feeding and personal care. We have never used a care home before and have been so impressed by the level of care she received during
her stay at Elstow. The staff were so kind, gentle, and patient with her. We will definitely be using Elstow again for respite care.

Dad has enjoyed his second respite visit. He has made some great friends - residents and nurses. Nursing care was excellent and he enjoyed the activities - carving pumpkins, drawing, the cinema to name a few.

When we realised that mum would no longer be able to live independently I had a sense of relief when we found details of Elstow Manor, a new purpose-built care home at Wixams near to the Bedford bypass. A tour of the care home started in the attractive reception area overlooking a pretty garden area,
we liked the multiple different sized seating areas in different aspects of the building and the concept of homemakers supporting residents. Since moving to Elstow Manor, mum has settled very well, staff are kind and caring, the clinical team have been thorough asking to liaise with mum's new GP practice. The high standards and quality provided at Elstow Manor is exactly what we wanted for our mum.

My mother moved to Elstow Manor when it first opened having only been in respite care for 7 weeks previously. To begin with, there was more staff than residents but over the last 3 months with the increase in residents, it now has a really buzzy vibe to the home. My mother has Alzheimer's disease and
I was anxious, to begin with, as to how she would settle in but the lovely staff have got to know her ups and downs and I am reassured that they react and query changes in her mood and act swiftly to understand any underlying causes for this. The facilities are first-class, beautifully decorated throughout and lovely grounds in which to walk, sit and enjoy. All the staff are very friendly and approachable and have the time to discuss any issues or concerns I may have. Recently mum said the best four words that I could wish to hear "I like it here". I couldn't ask for more. I know that she is safe but also happy and in the hands of caring, knowledgeable professionals.

Elstow Manor is a beautiful facility with very caring staff. My dad was discharged there from hospital and is thriving! His room is like a luxury hotel room and the food is excellent. He is a hard-to-please elderly man who has settled brilliantly and is gaining much-needed weight. I can't thank the
staff enough for the excellent care he receives.

Elstow Manor is more than you expect from a care home. The building, decoration, facilities etc are all wonderfully thought out and when you walk in it feels like a luxury hotel, and you are welcomed with a lovely, warm greeting which makes you feel at ease straight away. The staff are all amazing,
knowledgeable, patient, kind, and caring. Nothing is too much trouble. My father suffers with dementia, so it was always going to be difficult to settle him into a different environment. I was expecting it to be 2-6 weeks before he started to settle, but within 3-4 days he was quite settled and relaxed which is a great testament to all the staff. Apparently, the food is restaurant quality but better! I would not hesitate to recommend Elstow Manor to everyone and of course all the other Hamberley Care Homes. The fact they follow a different approach with the homemakers and being flexible with dining times/options makes it much easier for residents to feel at home.
