Vida Court opened its doors in 2021 and achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission in June 2023. Specialising in caring for people living with Dementia, the setting consists of 8 small private individual homes with a total capacity for 100 residents.

The eight specialist houses allow the team to offer a range of care for residents living with dementia, Alzheimer's Disease, residential dementia, nursing dementia, Lewy body dementia, Vascular dementia and Huntington’s Disease. Vida Court offers residential dementia care and a range of nursing dementia care.

All houses offer en-suite bedrooms and a collection of communal spaces including, lounges, dining rooms, sun rooms, kitchens and continuous walkways incorporating a range of destinations and sensory areas. Sensory gardens are easily accessible by each house.

My relative moved to Vida Court 6 weeks ago and every step of the move has been handled with thought and care from the initial assessment through to the preparation of her room. Without exception, the staff have supported not only my relative but also me. I enjoy visiting my relative and always feel
welcome when I go. Residents are treated with respect, dignity and, most importantly, as individuals - the ‘person centred’ ethos is very evident in everything the staff do. I have also been very impressed by the physical and medical care. For example, action is taken immediately if a potential health issue is identified. I have been kept informed about all such matters. The communication from staff has been excellent and I have had an immediate response on the one or two occasions I have had a query. My relative is settled and happy at Vida Court and I am very pleased to have found such an excellent care home for her.

After making the hard decision for my husband to go into care, my family and I started looking around various care homes. There are some, where patients sit around in a circle most of the day and are not encouraged to use their personal rooms which we thought was too institutional. At Vida Court, we
were met with very friendly very experienced staff who showed us around. The entrance has a cinema, hairdressers, cafe, and sweety shop. The resident's rooms are definitely their own with pieces of their furniture, photos on the walls, personal music, TV and an en suite bathroom. The colourful corridors are long and wide with various sitting areas, a piano, artificial cherry blossom trees. Off the corridor is an extremely suitable homely kitchen, where residents see the staff at any time and the food is superbly prepared by a very experienced chef. A large homely lounge with TV and various activities. Tomatoes growing in the small peaceful sun lounge. It certainly is a home from home. Five stars.

Mum's needs were no longer being met by her previous care home and careful research to find a new place, lead us to Vida Court. The move has been a huge success and from the moment we arrived the staff have all been gentle and kind, as well as very skilled and friendly. Her quality of life is much improved.
She is so much happier and the changes in her both physically and mentally have been quite amazing to see. It's such a relief to see her blooming as a result, thank you!

What an unbelievable home and team. Mum is content calm and happy. Cannot thank you all enough for your help, support and dedication. The leadership and passion that runs through this home is outstanding. We are extremely happy and blessed to have found such an amazing environment for Mum.

We wanted mum to have experiences that were meaningful to her and for her to be treated as an individual. The Vida Court team have done that consistently since she came to live with them 6 months ago. Mum has been shown such care and kindness by all the staff. They have brought her out of her shell
with their warmth, sensitivity and humour and looked after her physically with great care and dedication.

My friend, for whom I also have Power of Attorney, was one of the first residents in her house at Vida Court, having moved there in December 2021. I am so pleased that she settled well and any initial difficulties in her adjusting to a new environment were met and managed so efficiently, professionally
and with great care, kindness and consideration by the staff. I was consulted in full about my friend's settlement and subsequent care needs and I continue to be very impressed with the creativity and compassion demonstrated by the team in meeting her needs. Vida Court is a modern, clean, airy and well-planned care setting with views over the surrounding countryside and a well planted and inviting courtyard area which contributes to a calm and peaceful environment. What is particularly good for my friend is the garden room leading to an outside terrace that is nicely planted and to which she has free and independent access. Car parking and access for visitors is good.

I can't thank Vida Court enough after the sudden passing of my father we had the hardest decision to place my mother into a care home. From my first initial contact with Vida Court I knew this was where I wanted my mum to stay. My mother moved into Vida Court in April and the staff have been absolutely
amazing settling my mum in so quickly. I can honestly say my mum is flourishing now it’s actually the happiest we have seen her in quite a few years. I can not recommend Vida Court and the staff enough they work so hard to give them such a good life.

Clare Shuker

Job Title: Registered Home Manager

Joined: 2024

Clare joined Vida Hall in 2014 and has worked in the Elderly Care sector for over ten years in various roles ranging from Senior Carer to Health & Social Care NVQ Assessor. During Clare’s time at university, she took a community-based route where she was able to source her own placements in primary and community care settings; district nursing, hospice care, palliative care, and community matrons to name a few. After qualifying from university as a trained nurse, Clare went on to further train to be a Practice Nurse and earned a triangulated role between Leeds West CCG.


Amanda

Amanda Whitehouse

Job Title: Deputy Home Manager

Joined: 2024

Amanda has worked in health & social care for more than 30 years and is now the Deputy Home Manager. She has been a part of the team at Vida Hall for 6 years and holds a Dementia Care Mapping qualification from the University of Bradford. She has her Registered Managers Award and has studied through various NVQ programmes. Amanda was awarded the Most Dedicated Employee of the Year award for Vida Hall in 2018.


Sarolta

Sarolta Toldi Bolland

Job Title: Deputy Home Manager

Sarolta has been a qualified registered general nurse since 2007.


She has a great wealth of experience both clinically and managerially. She has been supporting people with a wide variety of nursing needs. She worked in acute care, community primary care and dementia care settings over the years. Sarolta worked all across the three Vida Homes as a senior nurse, clinical lead, and house manager and now she has joined the Vida Court team as Deputy Home manager in April 2024.


Dementia care has always been where Sarolta`s heart lies. She is focused on promoting compassionate care with kindness, using a humanistic approach to all residents while supporting their clinical needs with excellence.

Jessica holds a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care and Dementia. Since joining Vida Healthcare in 2020, she has undergone extensive training during her previous role as Senior Team Leader at Vida Hall. Jessica is a trained PIDC coach and also won Vida Healthcare's Quality Award in 2021.


She transitioned to her new role at Vida Court in 2022 and is passionate, motivated and dedicated to providing outstanding person-centred care to our residents.

Tracy Cliff

Job Title: Operations Manager

Tracy is responsible for the day to day operations at Vida Court, overseeing the Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance teams. She has worked in a care home environment for the past seven years in both residential and dementia care settings. Her role ensures smooth running of the home, allowing Sharon to focus on maintaining excellent standards of care.


Terri

Terri Spruce

Job Title: Clinical Development Lead

Joined: 2020

Terri has over 40 years experience of working as a Nurse in the NHS. During the last 14 years Terri has worked in the role as Community Matron., this involved caring for patients in all settings across the community. Terri has studied at Degree and Masters level, enabling her to both diagnose and prescribe medications within her competency levels. Terri is the Clinical Development Lead across Vida Healthcare and works closely with the Nurses and House Managers.

Linda joined Vida in 2018 after a career in the hospitality industry. Linda worked under the supervision of Head Chef at Vida Grange where she transferred to Vida Court in October 2021. Linda spent most of her career in 5* hotels across the UK and has completed her Foundation Degree in Culinary Arts, NVQ Level 2 in Food Safety, NVQ Level 3 in Hospitality Supervision, NVQ Level 3 Supervising Food Safety in Catering to name a few. Linda is a great addition to the team.


Gabriella

Gabriella Zahariev

Job Title: Admissions Coordinator

Joined: 2024

Gabriella started working at Vida Healthcare in January 2017 as a Care Team Leader. She has over 15 years of experience in the care industry and has achieved her NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care. Since joining Vida, Gabi has also completed a Leadership and Management course. In 2020, Gabi took on the role of Roster Coordinator and in 2024 became Vida Healthcare's Admission Coordinator. Her role involves supporting and guiding families to find the right Vida care home for their loved one living with dementia.


Donna

Donna Anderson

Job Title: Well-being Lead

Donna joined Vida Court in 2022 after working in the childcare sector for 22 years. The role of the well-being lead is to support and mentor the well-being facilitators who work on the houses and support the nurses and carers to provide the needs and interests of the residents with compassion and engagement.

Bernadette is an experienced healthcare professional who started her career as a community psychiatric nurse in Glasgow. She boasts more than 30 years of experience in both public and private sector roles. Prior to joining Vida in October 2011, she worked as a regional manager for a large care provider where she was responsible for managing ten homes comprising 450 personnel and 300 beds.

Job Title: Learning, Development and Quality Management

Arron is a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse and joined Vida Healthcare in 2013. Arron has been a House Manager, and Quality Assurance Manager and is now the Learning, Development and Quality Manager. With many years of experience in the care sector, Arron is passionate about the delivery of quality dementia care. Vida’s ethos of care focuses on quality throughout every aspect of our service and Arron’s role involves promoting the highest possible standards. Arron supports the Home Manager and care teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met in the delivery of care.
