We have the music room, art room, and garden room, allowing families to have the choice of which room they would prefer but this is on a first come first serve basis. Each room has different styles of chairs but for infection control, we must ensure the rooms meet safety standards and so the chairs have to be a wipeable material. I joined Avery Park in August 2022 as a Senior carer. I was soon promoted to Trainer for the entire home, providing a large portfolio of courses to all the care, housekeeping, kitchen, sales and administration staff.
The training at Avery Park is extensive so I delivered many courses including Health and Safety Awareness, Infection Prevention and Control and Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, to name just a few.
I am NVQ level 3 qualified in adult and social care, I am fully trained in Basic life support and manual handling. I have an I.T. diploma and a business level 2 and I have worked in the care industry for 7 years mainly in senior management roles.
My role as Deputy Manager at Park is to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home. It is my duty to ensure that each staff member follows current policies and procedures while maintaining person-centred care throughout the home.
