My mother in law has been a resident since September 2021, I have seen nothing but complete care and attention to her needs from the staff, she celebrated her 94th birthday recently and I would like to thank all the staff for making it a wonderful day for her. The home arranged for a high tea to be
held in the private dining room for family and friends to join in the celebrations, we were wined and dined it was a lovely day. Thank you to all staff well done

I came to stay at Queens View Harbour in November 2021. My stay has been good, the staff are very good and friendly. Care staff have been very supportive and will often assist me with my hair and makeup. My visitors are always made to feel welcome and staff are always approachable. The laundry service
has been excellent and my clothes are always laundered to a high standard. The nursing staff are always prompt in attending to any needs that I may have. I always enjoy attending the hairdresser and have had my hair highlighted during my stay. I always admire the way that other clients are respected in the home. The environment is a beautiful place to live in and when I return home, I will visit both staff and clients.

I really can't praise Queens View Harbour Care Home enough. Our mum has recently become a resident and the welcome she has received is amazing, everyone is so helpful and caring.
The rooms are beautiful and the lounges, dining rooms, cinema room, and hairdresser are all so beautifully furnished, it's
as if you are in a five-star hotel. The gardens, which are going to be spectacular in the summer, are so well done I can't wait to sit awhile with Mum and enjoy a wee cuppa. I really can't put into words how much I have appreciated the smooth transition for my mum. It's such a relief to know she is being well cared for and everything she could ever need is provided.
We are as a family, so relieved to have found such an amazing place for Mum to live and thank you all for your care and warmth that you have shown our mum. You are an amazing team and a credit to Queens View Harbour Care Home. Many thanks.

I moved into the care home in July 2021. My room and view are excellent and very comfortable. I get on well with staff and I feel the standard of care is very good and the staff are friendly. The food can be very good and I rather enjoy the chicken tempura and the puddings are always very good. I also
particularly enjoy the coronation chicken wraps. The staff support me with my visitors and I thoroughly enjoy my visits with my scrabble friend.

My mother has been a resident since September 2021. Nothing is too much bother for the staff. I have found all levels of care to be of the highest standard. As the home is custom-built, the facilities are excellent. There is a cafe for residents to use with family and friends. My mother gets her hair
done at least once a week. The private dining room was a treat, where on the run-up to Christmas, the family {up to eight}, spent the day with mum. We were wined and dined it was marvellous. The staff go above and beyond to care for the residents and I can't thank them enough for the care and attention my mother receives. My mother calls it her home and is very happy and that's one of the most important things to our family.

My dad moved to Queens View in November 2021 and the level of care he has had, has totally transformed his quality of life. We visit every day and can see how he has progressed, to the point we can now have him out to the family house, for some time each week. Great staff, well run, patient-centred

I have been coming to the home to play scrabble with a friend for several months now. I have always been made welcome by all staff when I have been in and the facilities in the self-service cafe are very good. The environment is friendly, clean and attractive. The rooms on both floors are very comfortable
looking. I have seen positive interaction between staff and service users whenever I have been in. I have also been aware of a variety of different activities arranged and have seen how the cafe area is decorated for special events.

My Father has been in Queens View Harbour for 4 months now. On admission, he had been in hospital for several weeks and was very ill. All of the Care home staff have been outstanding, working as a team, caring for all the residents. Staff go out of their way to get to know residents and how best to
support them. The environment is beautiful and residents and families are encouraged to make full use of the facilities such as the coffee lounge, bar area, hairdressers etc. We have found meals to be of a high standard with enough choices at each meal to cater for everyone. Dad's laundry is done daily and finished to a high standard. All public areas, bathrooms and bedrooms are thoroughly cleaned daily, making the environment feel like a 5 star hotel. The fact that several staff are commenting directly to Dad and the family about how well he is doing really demonstrates to us how much they genuinely care.

My mother went into the home last week. It is absolutely beautiful and feels more like a hotel than a care home. Having said that though, even though the building itself is fantastic every single member of staff who I have met have been amazing. The levels of caring from everyone isn't something which
I have experienced before. My mother has been completely transformed in just one week, and that is totally down to the care which she is receiving. The best way to describe it is that she feels like she's on holiday rather than being a "resident". If I was asked to rate the home out of 10 then 10 would be far lower than they deserve. I am unable to currently answer the question about activities though because she is currently isolating.

My mother is very happily settled into Queen's View Harbour, having moved in at the end of August. She has been looked after extremely well: her hair is styled at least twice a week and the staff make a fuss of her with manicures and make-up. The standard of accommodation is excellent and the food is
varied, beautifully presented and tasty. She has enjoyed live music shows, afternoon teas and the occasional cocktail. The nursing care is thorough and communication from staff to me is excellent. Primarily though, the care provided by all staff from managers, carers, house-keepers care-assistants and office-staff make this a home from home.

This care home is as you would expect as a new build. Very tastefully decorated and finished to a high standard both for residents and visitors alike. The staff are extremely attentive and nothing is too much trouble - they are efficient, friendly and very professional. The level of care is exemplary
and the facility is well thought out. The residents are well looked after and the food is of a high standard. This care home has raised the bar for other care homes to aspire to and helps remove the stigma that these types of facilities have come under fire from recently. I know my mother is in safe hands.

Level of care extremely high. Staff are very competent and friendly. Excellent modern facilities. Food is very good. I have no hesitation recommending this carehome. My mother likes it here very much and it is a comfort to know she is in good hands.

Staff are fantastic as is the care home. It is local for us and the standard of staff, cleanliness and furnishings are the best around. The thought that’s gone into the care home is second to none. I would recommend this care home. My mother who suffers from vascular dementia got on fabulous.

Michelle

Michelle Somerville

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2021

Michelle Joined the Team at Care Concern Group in 2020 initially being the Care Home Manager at Templeton House Care Home and now heading up the team at the brand new Queens View Harbour Care Home.


Michelle joins the team with 12 years experience in the role of Care Home Manager, taking up her first role as Manager in 2009 within a Care Home in Prestwick and then moving on to a larger service developing a large team of employees and being party to many awards and accolades within her time there.


Michelle trained as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in 1996 at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, then transferring her studies to Ayrshire and Arran in 1998, she Qualified in 1999 and took up post in Care Homes and Acute Psychiatry. In 2004, Michelle continued her work within Forensic Services working and supporting younger adults return to society independently. Starting as Staff Nurse and maturing to Charge Nurse through the years.


Michelle has a wealth of management experience within various Care Homes and Management roles. She is a role model to her staff as she is extremely hardworking and needs reminding to take some downtime, this is something we often laugh about. Michelle is passionate about her role and the care she manages both of Service Users and Staff. Michelle’s knowledge and ability to be creative and think outside the box when it comes to risk assessing is one of her biggest skills and attributes as it gives her a can-do attitude and is this is reflected in the wellbeing of people in her care. In relation to staff, Michelle is keen for development of staff and is encouraging of additional training in order for people to gain new knowledge and skills and develop themselves to their fullest potential, as well as the benefits it brings to enhancing standards of care and practice within the Care Home. Michelle has great expectations for the home and with her drive and determination, I am sure she she will pau Queens View Harbour Care Home on the map.


Janette

Janette Donnelly

Job Title: Clinical Lead

Joined: 2021

Janette brings a wealth of experience to her role at Queens View Harbour. Having started her started her nursing career at Glasgow Northern College of Nursing and Midwifery she later moved to practice in the community as a Community Charge Nurse before making the move to the private sector as a Care Home Manager and managing Care Services. Janette takes an immense amount of pride in ensuring that all of the residents and their families receive the very best in person-centred care.

Kerrie brings extensive experience to Queens View Harbour. Kerrie is really passionate about delivering excellence in care to all the residents.

Angela Gillies

Job Title: Home Administrator

Joined: 2021

Angela is often one of the first people you will talk to at the home and she has extensive experience as an administrator as well as having worked as a Care Assistant. This provides Angela with the perfect skill set for her role at Queens View Harbour and she loves getting to know our residents and their families.

Lewis is responsible for the maintenance of Queens View Harbour and brings a wealth of experience to the role ensuring that the home is a perfect setting for all the residents.

Derek joins the team at Queens View Harbour as Head Chef having had a love of working in kitchens from an early age. Derek has worked in a variety of settings including hotels, fine dining restaurants and more recently in care homes.
