The minute we came to Charrington Manor, we knew it was the right place for Mum. The staff are so caring, helpful and kind. The home is beautiful with such pretty grounds. We feel Mum is safe and extremely well looked after by professional and motivated staff. This is extremely important to us as we

My mum lived at Charringon Manor Care Home for over two years until she sadly passed away. Throughout the whole time, the staff at Charrington have been excellent. They are caring and respectful and go the extra mile. I was fortunate enough to visit my mum daily since she moved to Charrington and I
was always made to feel very welcome by the staff and I got to know a lot of the residents and other regular visitors. As well as missing my dear mum, I will miss visiting Charrington.

Charrington Manor Care Home cared for my mother for about a year.
Their care was the best, right up until my mother sadly passed in June 2024.
She was loved by all the home makers, and despite the harrowing trauma of dementia, they gave her the best care, and supported us through it all.
They will
always be people I respect for their commitment to providing a caring service and creating a warm environment for the residents.

My mother will have lived at Charrington Manor Care Home for two years in November. It is a testament to the care provided by all staff that prior to Mum moving to Charrington Manor she had a hospital admission yearly for several years and has not now been admitted for 18 months. Communication between
the nursing staff, home makers and the visiting GP with me to support mum's medical requirements has been excellent throughout this time. Socially during the day mum is always supported in being out of her room to be with others and be part of the wide choice of activities organised on a daily basis by the activities coordinator who does a fantastic job. Mum has been on outings to the coast and Wisley Gardens, a place she loves. The home makers are always thoughtful, kind and attentive. Mum has dementia and it is essential she does not feel rushed as this increases her anxiety - care provided is well paced; interactions calm, with joy and laughter too which is much appreciated. Thank you to all staff!

Charrington Manor Care Home is a fantastic care home.
It is the staff that make a massive difference.
The staff are all friendly, helpful, dedicated and highly responsive. The management have built a strong, experienced team that work really well together to the benefit of the residents.
My mother
has been a resident since May 2023. She enjoys the company of her fellow residents, meal times are never missed, the daily entertainment, which is high quality. She loves the staff who make sure she is happy.
Unfortunately over the last 3 months, her cancer in the bowel has returned which has impacted her badly.
The staff have been magnificent in the dedication to and personal care of my mother. They have communicated well with me and my sisters and have been highly responsive to her needs and condition.
They have involved the doctor as required and balanced the medical needs with a pragmatic, realistic nursing approach.

My mother moved from a care home in Devon to Charrington Manor Care Home in late May. She is living with advanced dementia, so it was a big upheaval for her. It has taken her a while to settle but straight-away she was very happy with her room, and the high standard of the living space.
The care model
is based around a homemaker who is the main resident contact in each community. The staff do not wear uniforms. This contrasts with many other homes that have different coloured uniforms for different staff roles. It feels more like a family community than a healthcare setting.
While it has taken Mum a few months to settle, the team have been immensely kind and patient with her. She is always treated with respect and dignity. The dining room is spacious and immaculately presented. There are endless activities available and many opportunities for supervised outings.
Charrington Manor has a wonderful management team and strong leadership. It is evident that they are aiming to be the best.

Dad has been at Charrington Manor Care Home for two years, his care is exemplary. The atmosphere is so friendly, staff can never do enough for him and as a visitor we are always greeted with a smile. They not only support Dad but during a quite difficult time they have offered invaluable support to
myself and my sister - nothing is too much trouble. We can be totally confident in Dad's care at Charrington Manor - absolutely first rate.

My mother moved into the Charrington Manor over a year ago. I visit her most days so I can see how caring the staff are towards the residents. There are plenty of activities available and something for anyone from light exercise classes like Tai Chi and yoga which my mum particularly loves to the opera
singer and or entertainers that come in regularly. All the staff at the Charrington are helpful and friendly - everyone smiles and it makes all the difference to the residents and visitors!

My Mum moved to Charrington Manor just over 2 months ago; from day one the care she has received has been excellent. The homemakers made sure that she got to know other residents and joined in the numerous organised activities. She enjoys the food, which is both plentiful and of a high standard. Any
request has been acted on immediately and the staff are so kind and caring towards her. When she has needed some medical assistance this has been provided very quickly and the staff have kept the family informed of any developments. My Mum has also enjoyed trips out to the coast, local garden centres, Wisley Gardens, and even a winery. I would highly recommend Charrington Manor.

Next month, my mother will have been a resident at Charrington Manor for two years (she is now 92). As a ground-floor resident, she has as much independence as she likes but, from my point of view, always seems to have a really caring, supportive and encouraging team around her. From the moment (as
a visitor) I enter the wonderful reception area, I feel part of a very special environment. The staff are friendly, encouraging and fun, the activities on offer include anything from daily films and tap dancing to excursions to the seaside/Wisley/vineyards/garden centres and everyone (staff, residents and family) smiles! This is a hugely caring environment which personalises care and makes every single resident feel a vital part of this wonderful home. Most of the staff we first met two years ago are still there, and I am always kept informed of anything (however small) I should be aware of in my mother's care. I couldn't ask for better communication or support!

Charrington Manor is a palatial care home with everything a resident needs. The nursing staff and carers are highly professional people, with transparent communication with residents and their families about any medical care and well-being requirements. I have found the staff and management at all levels
to be approachable, respectful and nothing is too much trouble, everyone works extremely hard making sure all residents are cared for to the highest standards. Residents have a good choice of activities, exercise classes to suit all abilities, regular live Musical entertainment and trips to the Seaside, Museums, Country-side Walks, Garden Centres and more, which is brilliant for residents' mental health and general wellbeing since they are not feeling cut off from the rest of the world. I love visiting my uncle at Charrington Manor twice a week, he is very happy and has made some great new friends. I can relax when I am away from him knowing that he is very well cared for and well fed.

My mother aged 91 has dementia and moved into Charrington Manor in January 2023. My father aged 95 has Parkinson's and also now is in the care home. He moved in February 2024. I have nothing but praise for Charrington Manor and would thoroughly recommend.

Charrington Manor is an amazing home for our elderly parents. The accommodation is clean, comfortable, and easy for them to live there. The chef is excellent. No complaints at all. The staff are the best part. They are friendly, caring, and a joy to communicate with us. The entertainment is great, with
lots of variety for different tastes. Plenty of other activities to keep everyone fit and healthy. I'll be booking myself in, in thirty years!

My wife has been a resident at Charrington Manor for 8 months. She has dementia and problems with mobility. During this period, she has been very well looked after and has been very happy from the day she took residence.
The standard of care is very high. The carers themselves are cheerful, attentive
and highly competent, without exception.
The atmosphere is happy and positive. There are lots of activities to entertain residents, including visiting singers, players and dancers. Residents have opportunities to make visits to local shops, gardens and even to the seaside 45 miles away.
I am totally happy with the care my wife receives.

Dad has been a resident of Charrington Manor for the past nineteen months and looks so well compared to when he arrived after spending weeks in hospital.
I cannot thank all the staff enough for all the care, compassion and empathy that they show Dad.
Everyone is so friendly and approachable, which
was comforting when as a family we needed support too.
Charrington Manor is a bright, calm environment that makes you feel at home as soon as you enter.
The food is wonderful and all homemade.
There is always some sort of activity happening throughout the day which so much thought goes into.

Charrington Manor is exceptional in the care of all their residents. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and every member of the team cares for all the individuals at the home. During my time visiting Charrington Manor, I saw how caring the staff were towards the residents and how they were always there to provide what the residents needed. The activities that were on offer to all residents (minimum of 2 a day) had something for everybody and I enjoyed helping out with these
whilst getting to know the residents. The care home also has a very relaxing and calming feel to it, especially with the beautiful garden which I know the residents love exploring. I am very glad that I will be back to visit my grandad who I know is happy and having a lovely time there. I would highly recommend Charrington Manor.

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 66 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Simona Varga-Pali

Job Title: Registered Care Home Manager

A registered general nurse, Simona Varga-Pali brings more than 16 years of experience from both acute and social care settings to her role at Charrington Manor Care Home in West Byfleet. Formerly working as Clinical Lead at the Journalist Charity nursing home and Gracewell Healthcare before joining Hamberley, Simona’s career achievements include leading a care home to an Outstanding CQC rating. Simona has also achieved the Champion of Quality award by Sunrise Senior Living in 2018. Outside of her working life, Simona is passionate about charity work.
