Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are truly sorry that the care did not meet your expectations. The team at PAU are virtually the same team since we opened and have received extensive training. The call bell system is monitored and any call taking over 5 minutes which is rare is looked into. The bed was lowered to the floor for patient safety and is designed to do this and the incontinence pads were worn by patient choice, but the reviewer may not have known this. I have shared this feedback with the team including the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist and they are truly upset as they felt they had a good rapport with the patient concerned. However, we do not always get things right and we have taken on board the reviewer's comments and will endeavour to improve our practice where needed. My door is always open and I would have valued the opportunity for the reviewer to have come to discuss any concerns she had at the time. Kind regards, Gail and Team

Thank you for taking time to submit a review. We are sorry that the signing-in system did not work for you. We have not received any other comments or issues regarding it not working to date, but we will continue to monitor. We purchase 2 newspapers daily for the lounge area. We are a short-term unit with admissions and discharges most days and it would not be a service we could provide to each patient at present. Most patients have visitors/family that can bring in such items and all have a TV in their rooms to keep up with current affairs, should they wish. I'm glad your friend seemed happy and that the care was seen as good.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that 2 of my staff did not meet your expectations. With regards to staffing levels, unless someone is off poorly at short notice, we are never short of staff and in an ideal world perhaps patients feel there should be more. We will continue to monitor our staffing levels to ensure the needs of our patients are met. I’m sorry this was not your
experience. With regards to the food I will forward your feedback onto the kitchen. On a positive note I feel privileged that our unit was able to assist you to mobilise again after your period of 2 years not being able to walk.
