Newly opened, Chestnut Gardens Care Home offers 24-hour residential, respite and dementia care. Care is provided based on individual needs, and the service can deliver both short and long terms plans which are person-centred and promote the dignity of all residents.

The care home engages residents in a range of activities to preserve current skills. Additional services are also offered to promote socialisation and enjoyment such as a cinema, a spa bathroom and garden access.

Nutritional meals are prepared by trained chefs, with all ingredients freshly sourced and prepared.

We can't speak highly enough of all the staff at Chestnut Gardens, from housekeeping through to management. My mum moved in back in November and has taken a while to adjust to a new way of life and missing her own home. The staff have been so kind and helpful and spending time with her and encouraging
her to join in the activities. Would recommend this Care Home to everyone.

Our mum came to the care home, this is the first for her, she arrived right in the middle of the Christmas party, having just come straight from the hospital, she was made to feel very welcome and took part and enjoyed the food. Mum's settlement to the home wasn't straightforward as Mum, as staff concerned
about our health, was sent to hospital on Christmas Eve, she came home on Boxing Day. Couple of days later, she was sent back to the hospital so she spent New Year in hospital, this has been very upsetting for everybody but the staff had been great and don't mind being bombarded with loads of questions. We are an outgoing family so we have joined in with the quizzes etc., grandchildren have been made to be welcome and also helped put the Christmas decorations away, the other residents have fallen in love with our 9-year-old grandson, said he's funny and entertaining. Mum has only been in the home three weeks, says room is lovely, the staff are very caring and kind, food is good too.

When Mum needed to go into a care home, we visited many. Barchester Chestnut Gardens Care Home is absolutely beautiful inside - the care and attention to detail are just amazing. From the hairdressers to the cinema, to all the activities arranged daily, we could see that this was a place that really
cared for its residents and improving their quality of life.
The general manager is just wonderful. I was very anxious about Mum moving to a residential home, not only did she understand this but was also able to set my mind at rest about the quality of care Mum would receive and, most importantly to me, how we would all work together to look after her.
The transition was so easy from hospital to the home. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. I can honestly say that during her stay, my mum had the most wonderful care from all of the staff. I would highly recommend Chestnut Gardens and the manager and her fabulous team.

On entering Barchester Chestnut Gardens Care Home, my initial thoughts were this feels like a five-star hotel and I was greeted by smiling, welcoming staff. I felt very comfortable talking to the staff and I thought the facilities had a lovely ambience. It is a good-sized home giving a spacious and
luxurious feel. When I took my mother for one week respite, the staff came to her at once to introduce themselves and they did with such a kind and warm manner that I instantly felt that she would be in good hands. The staff went above and beyond to make sure Mum was happy and for that, I am truly grateful and would highly recommend Chestnut Gardens.

The home was always spotless, as good as a 5 star hotel. The staff always ready to be helpful. My aunt (the resident) was not an easy person to help but the staff were brilliant at looking after her.

Always a welcome smile from all the staff every time we go into the Barchester Chestnut Gardens Care Home. Nothing is too much trouble to support and help both the residents and visitors. Always feel welcomed by the team. The quality of the environment and overall build finish makes it feel like a high
quality hotel. The range of food is excellent and caters for all dietary requirements. The team all seem to really take an interest in the well-being of the residents.

My friend's mother was at Barchester Chestnut Gardens Care Home for respite where I visited her on a few occasions. I could not feel more welcome and I noticed a very positive change in her whilst she was there. Everyone was incredibly kind and compassionate and my friend would not hesitate to move

I stayed for two weeks for respite care after a hip replacement. The care was the best I could hope for. The staff were amazing, took care of every need I had and went above and beyond expectations. Arranged extra equipment and help. The food was an exception. The choice of food and menu was equivalent
to having a meal at a Michelin restaurant. Five stars plus experience. Would recommend this place to whoever wants to know more and I am willing to attend and explain more. I was fortunate to have found myself in this place and if needed will be back. Staff, food, hygiene and hospitality are the best 5* plus.

My mother stayed for two weeks of respite care. The whole experience, from first contacting Chestnut Gardens, was excellent. The staff were extremely reassuring and professional. The rooms and all the common areas were exemplary. I will definitely use Chestnut Gardens again.

We have been very pleased with the service provided so far. The staff have really looked after my grandmother and made her feel reassured and safe. English is her second language, and she has dementia. The facilities are of great quality, and her room is very comfortable. Whenever we have visited, we
have also noticed the high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas.

What a find! Chestnut Gardens could not have done more to make my mother feel so welcome, initially for respite care after a dramatic discharge from the hospital. The staff are "just the best" - a daughter could wish for when someone else is looking after their elderly mother on their behalf!
The staff
always have smiles on their faces and are so warm and friendly, and when I left one evening in tears, I bumped into the night staff, and she immediately wrapped me in the biggest hug - just what I needed. She also reassured me that all this was "normal" and that she would keep an extra eye on Mum overnight.
The food always sounds so good, and Mum certainly is not being left out despite requiring gluten-free; the chef is always happy to do something different for her. Thank you
I really cannot find fault with this care home, and I cannot thank the staff, from the general manager and care staff to the hostess/cleaning staff enough. Thank you.

Chestnut Gardens could not have done more to make my mother feel welcome in her new home. Every member of staff has been compassionate, kind, caring and professional. The staff have taken the time to get to know her personally and have designed a stimulating programme of activities and outings to enrich
her life. The home also invites the local community in for events and activities which Mum has enjoyed. The home is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, with attractive lounges, restaurants and a fabulous garden. It is a lovely place for her family and friends to come and spend time or share a meal with Mum. The food is varied and tasty, not to mention the fresh cake every day! It is a beautiful home but it is the staff that make a home special, and from carers, chefs, maintenance team, laundry staff, and management to housekeeping, everyone shows pride in their work and genuine kindness towards the residents. We are very grateful to them and so pleased we chose Chestnut Gardens.

I have been working in care home management for the last 18 years. I won the Care Home Frontline Leaders Award at the Great British Care Awards in 2012 and, in a previous role, I achieved an 'Outstanding' CQC rating.


I look forward to bringing my skills and experience to Chestnut Gardens.


Chestnut Gardens is an amazing home with a great atmosphere and I am looking forward to delivering the best care with my team to those we support in a friendly, warm and happy environment.
