Llys Herbert is a new purpose-built luxury care home in Cardiff. The dedicated team provides personalised residential, respite and dementia care for up to 75 older people.

Each bedroom has its own en-suite wet room and is individually decorated and beautifully furnished. The home features all the ingredients for a superb lifestyle under one roof, including a bar, hair and beauty salon, cinema and coffee shop. Outside, the lovely landscaped gardens offer a variety of seating areas, accessible pathways and raised planters – perfect for keen gardeners.

The team learn all about your loved one's personality, life story and interests so they can tailor all aspects of their care – from activities to menus – to suit their needs and wishes.

Delighted to have found Llys Herbert. This is a stunning new care home with superb facilities and amazing attention to detail in all aspects of the home and for its residents.
The team has been amazing from the very first enquiry to the incredibly warm welcome extended to my father on arrival and
all of the individual attention to help him settle in.
The team truly embrace the Care UK values: caring, passionate, teamwork.

My father is one of the first few to take up residency at this newly built home, the first Care UK home (so I understand) to be owned and managed by the company in Wales.
From the moment we went to view the home, without any prior notice on our part, we have been welcomed and helped enormously by
the whole team.
All rooms are identical in size. My father has been fortunate to choose both position and decor of which there is a good choice.
To date, the food has been varied, beautifully cooked and presented and catering to my father’s needs as his appetite has diminished.
The staff have been wonderfully supportive, friendly, enthusiastic and willing. I cannot thank them all enough for all the kindness and consideration they have shown to him. If the standards continue at the present level, which I have no reason to doubt they will, it is going to be a wonderful home.

Job Title: Home Manager

As a Home Manager, my role is to support the team to deliver a high standard of care for residents.


I’m a registered nurse and have experience in management roles. I joined Care UK because its values of caring, passion and teamwork mirrored my own.


In this role, it’s important to have compassion, empathy, enthusiasm and a sense of humour. You also need to be motivated and be a good all-around team player.


I love that every day is different, bringing new challenges and rewards. My favourite part of the day is walking around the home before I leave and seeing the relationships between colleagues and residents.


Seeing colleagues I’ve supported over the years developing and progressing in their careers gives me greater pleasure.


Outside of work, I’m lucky to have a caravan in Anglesey and enjoy spending time there. I like walking in all weathers with my family and dog, and since I began travelling through work.
