Norden House offers residential, nursing, and dementia care, boasting sweeping views of the quiet countryside and is located less than a mile away from Climping Beach.

The home's design and the type of care it offers are innovative and unique, with a focus on making residents feel at home. It features four wings, each with 16 bedrooms, designed over two storeys. The wings are split into two separate households, each with eight "homes," providing a small family atmosphere that helps reduce stress and improve socialisation among residents.

Each household offers spacious ensuite bedrooms, communal lounges, dining rooms, reading rooms, a garden lounge, and terraces that overlook the landscaped and secure purpose-designed grounds for residents and their visitors. Additionally, there is ample car parking, and well-being facilities include a hair salon, holistic therapy room and tea room.

The care home opened in February 2024 and Norden House is now accepting enquiries from those interested in residing there.

My Dad was a resident here from December 24 to last week March 25 where he passed away. Some dedicated and lovely staff. We're brilliant with dad in his last week. Concerns raised not given outcome. Lack of staff.

At last we found a wonderful care facility for my mum. The concept is to promote as much independence as possible to the residents, a home-from-home feeling. All the staff are welcoming, friendly and always willing to help where possible, maintaining professionalism and dignity at all times. The food
is excellent, offering dietary needs and always fresh with a great choice. All the management are available to offer help, support and advice whenever required. An exceptional facility with local connections. Thank you for welcoming our Mum and making her feel very special.

Myself and my partner visited my nan and had a delicious Friday meal of fish and chips and mushy peas.
The staff were all extremely welcoming and kind.
The surroundings were beautiful and unlike any other care home I've seen before.
It was lovely to see my nan so settled and happy at Norden House.

Norden House is a wonderful new care facility and six Catholic Sisters waited many months for the doors to open to welcome them. The concept is to give as much independence as possible to the residents. It has a home-from-home feeling. The sixty-four beds are divided into households of eight bedrooms,
a lounge/diner and a quiet room. There are also a number of cosy seating areas to relax in. The views are stunning across the beautiful Sussex countryside. Staff are welcoming, friendly and willing to help where possible. Food is good and the chefs cater for all types of healthy diets. The management are efficient, pleasant and hospitable. The newly planted gardens are coming to life as the plants blossom in spring. The bar/cafe is a good place to enjoy refreshments with friends and family. The hairdressing salon is an added bonus. All in all, this is an exceptional facility with a lot of local connections and it has been built as an environmentally friendly construction.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.471)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.471) out of 10 for Norden House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.783 for Norden House is calculated as follows: ( (53 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.783

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.688 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Norden House is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.8 = 0.313

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
