My grandmother has been in Sterling House over a year now and has settled in very well, she is well looked after by the lovely staff. She feels settled and cared for. Her needs are met by the staff very well, I am contacted with each aspect of her care needs and kept very well informed of any changes.
The living space is lovely compared to other care homes much more then just a room.
I would recommend Sterling House for others looking for a care home for family.

Our mum moved into Sterling House on 9/12/24, we are so grateful as the all staff are so caring, approachable, kind, considerate and most of all our mum seems very happy. Our mum has Alzheimer's and is unable to care, talk, feed herself now due to her onset condition.
So we know that she is happy
and comfortable as she get a lovely smile from her when we visit which is reassuring, the staff do a great care job and we are very grateful to all the team.

We have found the staff caring and professional and accommodate both my relative and the familys needs. Our relative has their own space if they wish to have time alone, but can also go into the shared area if they want some company

My Step Father first took up residence in Dec 2024 I must admit was bit apprehensive due to some of the bad press on care homes but was really impressed with the staff at Sterling House they are all really friendly and look after him with great care and attention.
They go out of their way to also
make sure we are comfortable and included in all aspects of his health and welfare when visiting by the Manager in charge of his care .
Would thoroughly recommend Sterling House to anyone .

My parents after a rough year and numerous admissions to hospital were moved to Sterling House. From the moment they arrived, they were welcomed and cared for. All the needs were recognised and met. As a family, we were always kept informed and encouraged to be proactive in their care. My mother's needs
were particularly complex and the staff were wonderful with her, so kind and compassionate. I couldn't ask for a better placement.

The manager and staff welcomed Mum to her new home. The arrangement at Sterling House is a different concept to the usual arrangements in a traditional care home. Mum is happy and doing well. All of the staff are doing a great job, highly recommend checking out Sterling House for your loved ones if
care is required.

My parents just spent two weeks in respite care here. The staff from management down were truly amazing! Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent they went above and beyond to make their stay enjoyable and I cannot recommend this enough. They had their own independent apartment with the
option to use communal areas. The staff played games with them and spent time with them.
They truly “cared” as it says in the tin.
Thank you to all.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.572)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.572) out of 10 for Sterling House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.972 for Sterling House is calculated as follows: ( (69 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.972

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Sterling House is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 17 registered maximum number of service users is 3.4, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
