Wilton Place, in Wilton, the Ancient Capital of Wessex, is a purpose built care home delivering high-quality residential care, and care and support for individuals living with dementia.

The community is broken up into small units that provide a family feel, helping people to feel safe and comfortable. Services are based on independence, dignity and choice, supported by a person-centred approach to care.

The home resembles a five star hotel and features 66 en-suite bedrooms, beautiful lounges and dining rooms, a Bistro, Bar and Cinema room along with Spa Bathrooms and a Hair Salon.

Residential care provides a luxurious, warm, welcoming environment, with delicious home cooked meals and stimulating daily activities. Each activity is designed to enhance life skills and give a feeling of purpose and self-worth, encouraging residents to choose whether to continue with existing hobbies or try something new.

The home has a specialist Memory Lane Community, for those living with dementia. This utilises a careful blend of techniques and skills developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, with person-centred design incorporated into its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home. Residents living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help support interactions, preserve life skills, and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.

My mother has been with Barchester Wilton Place Care Home for over a year now and has been cared for very well over this period.
She has good relationships with many of the carers and the meals are, in the main, very good.
When I’m away I know that she is well looked after and safe.

The staff are incredibly friendly, you feel right at home when you are there. The home is very clean and you can tell it is well looked after. The events that are put on are very well thought out and organised to a high standard. You can tell the home has high standards in all departments and it is

My Father was welcomed into Wilton Place shortly after the opening. He was to live there until late November 2023 and every day he was loved and cared for by the amazing staff. I mean from the chefs and kitchen staff who served great options every day, the maintenance staff who interacted whilst carrying
out their important tasks and duties, and the housekeeping staff for whom nothing was ever too much. The care staff could not have been kinder, or more patient. Everyone in the specialist care unit upstairs, where he was, had their individual needs met whatever they were, music, knitting, artwork, and singing and dancing were amongst many of the joys bestowed on the residents. It was a hotel atmosphere from entering and being welcomed but with the helpful front desk staff, nothing was ever a chore. The manager and her entire team should be very proud of their achievements as I have never seen anywhere run so smoothly and with such attention to detail, forever grateful thank you.

Following a fall, my Mother required respite care as she was no longer able to cope alone at home. Wilton Place provided all the care she needed throughout her stay. The friendly staff and excellent service helped restore her mobility and confidence.

The facilities in this home are amazing and the number of activities alongside the endless entertainment for the residents make this a great place to stay. The best asset however is the Barchester staff. All are extremely personable and above all care and have empathy for resident.

It is wonderful. I am convalescing from a leg operation. The staff are all friendly and capable, nothing is too much trouble. The food is all homemade and very nourishing, and the soups are excellent. I have had a stream of visitors who all want to book in! Thank you to all the staff!

A warm welcome from the management when I arrived for respite care. My room was delightful and well equipped - adjustable bed, two comfy armchairs and a small table, an overbed table, wall-mounted TV, built-in drawers and wardrobe. A spacious and well-appointed ensuite was also provided. The carers
were so kind and helpful and the food was good. The bistro was a lovely social space to chat and enjoy drinks and light refreshments at any time. A really special, purpose-built and designed care home.

What a superb care home! Apart from being modern and purpose-built, it's the staff that make it superb. The chef and his brigade produced perfectly proportioned nutritional meals. I was looking to find a care home to allow my parents to relocate from Devon to be closer to me. My father has dementia and had been in a home for a year which catered for his basic needs but was not allowing him to thrive. This left my mother on her own which had a detrimental effect on her health
and well-being.
When we went to look around, it was clear that Barchester Wilton Place Care Home had put in a great deal of effort into making it very special. Mum chose a lovely room and she moved in with a few items from her house which has made it very homely. She's made new friends and her well-being is so much better. It’s such a relief to see her smiling again.
My father then moved up so Mum can now see him whenever she likes. She knows he is being well looked after and no longer has the worry and stress of the last few years while trying to care for him on her own. All of the staff are simply amazing.
Knowing my parents are safe, happy, well cared for and enjoying life again has lifted a huge weight from my shoulders.

Wilton Place is a beautiful care home. It is like a luxury hotel! My parents are very happy to "show off" their new home to any visitor they have. The staff are all very friendly and helpful - they already know my parents well. It is a joy to visit and definitely feels like home.

My husband stayed for two weeks respite. So impressed with the home, clean, friendly and efficient. His room was lovely with en-suite and door straight into the garden area. I could go away knowing he would be safe and well looked after. Highly recommend it to anybody in the same situation.

It is now just over 4 weeks since my mother (aged 92) has resided at Barchester Wilton Place Care Home near Salisbury. She started her stay as respite to see if she could settle and has now decided it will be her permanent home. This is a brand new care home (Opened Dec 2022) and my husband and I have
visited many in the Salisbury area to find a suitable care home for my mother. This home is by far the best we have seen. The accommodation is superb, the decor amazing, the food excellent, the activities and staff perfect and I could not wish for a better home to look after my mother. Of course, none of this would be possible without the staff. From the start, the sales representatives, the manageress and the administrator have been professional, efficient, caring, helpful and really empathetic. All the care staff are excellent. I am totally relaxed and confident that my mother is receiving the safest and best care possible.

The place is immaculately clean and a credit to the housekeeping staff. My friend says the food is excellent and her dietary needs are always catered

Our mother is a resident of Wilton Place, and we are so happy with the loving care she is receiving. Having been cared for at home until after her 100th birthday, we approached the prospect of a care home for her with great reluctance and trepidation when her care needs exceeded our ability to meet
them. We need not have worried! From the moment she arrived at Wilton Place, she has been happy there, and we, as a family, who visit daily, have been so impressed with the quality of care she is receiving. Without exception, all the staff are brilliant: professional, yes, but also loving and caring and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure residents are happy and comfortable and treated as people with individual needs. We feel our mother/grandmother/great-grandmother is cherished at Wilton Place and that she receives respectful, excellent care for which we are very grateful indeed.

We booked a respite break for Mum to give her a change of scene and to partly see how she responded to being in a residential setting. Mum has Alzheimer's but has been managing it at home. However, over the last six months, we have noticed her becoming withdrawn and not her usual jovial self. We felt
that she would benefit from being in an environment where she would have people to talk to and interact with.
Mum's stay went better than we could have expected. The staff are wonderful and we received a few updates from Wilton Place to let us know how Mum was settling in, which was very reassuring for us. Mum thoroughly enjoyed her stay and we have made a further booking for July.
Considering residential care for your loved one is a difficult and stressful process. Wilton Place has made this process a lot easier for us. Thank you to everyone at Wilton Place for making Mum's stay such a positive and enjoyable experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks in May as respite while our bathroom was being refurbished. We found the staff very welcoming and our rooms very clean and comfortable. Our bedrooms were adjacent which was good as my husband has dementia and is easily confused. We enjoyed sitting outside in the sun
and taking part in various activities that were arranged.

Hello, my name is Antoinette and I am the General Manager at Wilton Place.


I have been working in luxury care homes for over 9 years and I am passionate about delivering fantastic care, within beautiful environments. I have over 20 years of management experience in nursing and dementia care.


Here at Wilton Place, our residents are able to access a full suite of life-enriching activities as well as continue their lives as part of the wider community in Wilton

Emma has worked with luxury care providers for the last 12 years. She started her career as a Senior Carer, progressed to Dementia Care Manager and now to Deputy Manager here at Wilton Place. Fiona who is originally from the West Midlands but has lived in Wilton for nearly 9 years is married with 2 grown-up children and has a rescue cat called Floyd!


Fiona started work as a scientist and then trained as a primary school teacher spending over 20 years in education.

Hello, being part of the Wilton Place team is great, everyone is so friendly and kind. I've previously worked as a Maintenance Supervisor in a senior school and enjoyed seeing the young people achieve and progress. It's rewarding to maintain this beautiful home for our residents who deserve the very best, they are welcoming and amiable and a joy to engage with each day.

Hello, I've worked for Barchester for 17 years and in the care industry for 29. My passion is baking. This year I was proud to be invited to be involved in the Barchester 'Chefs Academy' which is an initiative where chefs can share ideas, learn new skills and therefore strive for excellence in catering for our residents across the country.


Wilton Place is a beautiful new home with a great team and I enjoy getting to know all of the residents and cooking their favourite meals.

Job Title: Administrator/Speak Up Champion

Rebecca has worked in the private healthcare sector for 12 years. She is the go-to for all things admin-related and as such, has built firm relationships with our residents and their families.


She is also our ‘Speak Up’ champion. Rebecca is there to support staff to ‘speak up’ if they feel they are unable to in other ways, to help protect resident safety and quality of care.

I have been within the care industry for 15 years, my background is Neuro rehabilitation caring for patients with traumatic brain injuries and neurological conditions. However in the last 10 years I have found myself working in dementia care. Each day is filled with laughter and heart-warming experiences not one day is the same. I’m lucky not everyone can say they enjoy their job but working within dementia care is an enjoyable career.

Jas is one of our Senior Carers.


She has worked in the care industry for 8 years.


She joined the Wilton Place family in 2023 and is one of our Dementia Champions.


She bought with her experience in specialist dementia care and a passion for exceptional, compassionate care for our residents.


She takes pride in supporting us to recognize the unique needs and challenges each resident faces, ensuring their needs and preferences are met.


Jas also supports resident's families, she is a friendly and approachable team member.

"I have been at Wilton Place since the opening in December 2022 and have not looked back.


Wilton Place is a beautiful home and the team is lovely but most of all the residents are happy and as a team member that's all I could ask for."


I am one of the Dementia Champions for the home and am also part of the Activities team. I am passionate about resident inclusion, enabling our residents to feel independent and purposeful. I seek opportunities to ensure residents continue with their hobbies and interests and also discover new ones.

Julie joined Wilton Place when it first opened and has been an integral part of the team ever since. Her background is in care in the community but she is also a qualified hairdresser so manages the dedicated hair salon for the residents.

I have worked in customer-facing roles for the last 16 years and enjoyed the interaction that working with the public brings. I’m grateful for the opportunity to engage with the residents here, it’s so rewarding to see them thriving and happy, they are lovely and would put a smile on anyone’s face. The staff are very friendly and helpful which makes Wilton place such a great environment to work in.

Berenice loves getting to know the residents and hearing all about their families whilst attending to their housekeeping needs. She is a welcoming smiling face each morning.


She previously worked as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school and enjoys welcoming her grandchildren into the home when they come along with their school to visit our residents.

Tina is part of our Hostess team. Her career in the care industry spans 30 years and she has worn many hats throughout that time. She began as a Carer, progressing to Senior Carer and now enjoys her role as Hostess here at Wilton Place. Tina delights in her daily interactions with residents and looks forward to coming to work each day.


She is often the first person a resident sees in the morning as knocks on the door with their morning cup of tea and a cheery greeting.


Tina ensures residents enjoy a luxury dining experience at every meal time and enjoy delicious beverages and cakes in our Bistro throughout the day.

Richard has worked in the catering industry for 40 years. He enjoys taking the time to get to know each resident and their culinary wishes. His greatest reward is presenting residents with bespoke dishes and menus and takes great delight in seeing them enjoy not only the dishes he creates but the entire dining experience.
