I am comforted to hear we were able to provide this care to your father during this time; though only here for a short period, I know the team and I felt we made meaningful relationships with you all and we continue to send our thoughts to your whole family. We are proud of the high-quality care you have described and how Dad's pain and comfort were maintained throughout. Thank you for sharing your experience, I will share your feedback with the team.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am so pleased to hear the positive experience you and Mum have had recently, we have really enjoyed getting to know Mum better and look forward to continuing to build positive relationships. Your points regarding the temperature of Littleton are valid and one of my priorities currently, we have now received quotes and details and agreed to install air conditioning which should be installed presently once the contractor gives a date. I appreciate this doesn't benefit us this summer but feels like we are making a positive move. We have recently, internally, promoted a highly regarded and experienced colleague to the well-being supervisor role, I know she is excited to work with residents and relatives to plan what activities could look like going forward at St Giles View.

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.926) out of 10 for Brendoncare St Giles View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.
The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
The Average Rating of 4.826 for Brendoncare St Giles View is calculated as follows: ( (59 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 69 Ratings = 4.826
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').
The 4.1 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brendoncare St Giles View is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.5
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager
Joined: 2024
I have been a registered nurse within the NHS for years and have lots of experience working with the local authorities within adult social care. I am pleased to bring my expertise to the home to support our residents to live well. Being local to Winchester I've been aware of Brendoncare's excellent reputation in the community for years and am proud to join a charity that is led by its values.
I am most looking forward to learning from the residents, hearing their stories and building meaningful relationships whilst supporting them to live fulfilled purposeful lives.
Job Title: Deputy Manager

I began my journey with Brendoncare in 2019 as a registered general nurse. A year later, I was given the opportunity to step up into a role which I very much enjoyed and became Deputy Manager.
I am grateful to work alongside such a dedicated, extremely hard-working team. We all share a common goal of making a difference in other people’s lives and being able to put a smile on their faces.

Job Title: Customer Experience Manager
Joined: 2017
I have an excellent knowledge of the care sector having worked in social care since 2013, firstly as a specialist dementia CareGiver and then as a community support and engagement Manager. I joined Brendoncare in 2017 as the first Customer Relations Manager and have been involved in the opening of Otterbourne Hill and, most recently, St Giles View. My role involves offering support and advice to anyone looking for care for themselves or their loved ones and ensuring that their move goes as smoothly as possible. In my spare time, I enjoy going for walks with my dog ‘Torvi’ and spending time with family. I am also a trained singer and used to run a dementia-friendly choir.
