Elgar Court is a purpose-built care home located in Malvern, and has been specifically designed to provide residential, respite and dementia care.

All Barchester homes are finished to the highest standard and furnished with impressive facilities from cosy lounges, ideal for reading the daily newspaper, through to well-maintained, colourful, secure gardens which are perfectly suited for you to relax or take a stroll.

The home is made up of three communities. Residential communities are on the ground and second floor and there is a Memory Lane community on the first floor.

The beautiful home comprises of 66 rooms which all have en-suite facilities, including a toilet, a wash basin and a wet-room. Most of the ground bedrooms have garden access. In addition there are six assisted toilets within the home, along with six spa bathrooms equipped with light and sound technology for you to enjoy.

There are several beautiful spaces to spend your days, either quietly alone or socialising with others. There are a variety of individually designed spaces including a café and four spacious dining rooms where you can dine in calm, relaxed surroundings. The well-appointed dining rooms are located on all floors, one on the ground floor, one on the first floor and one on the second floor including a private dining room with terrace access.

There are eight lounges in total. The lounge on the ground floor includes garden access. The lounges are thoughtfully designed with a variety of chair styles to suit everyone’s requirements, calming and soothing colours on the walls, and soft furnishings, TV areas and quieter reading spaces.

Beautiful hotel like environment. Always clean and tidy. All staff friendly and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Food (parents describe) is good quality and nutritious. My parents both look well and are recognising quality. Would rate 11/10!

Since my father became a resident at Barchester Elgar Court Care Home, he has had excellent care. From my initial telephone call, the excellent assessment while he was in hospital to his "admission", his care has been exemplary. Without Elgar Court, I honestly feel Dad would not be with us anymore.

My husband spent a week in your wonderful Barchester Elgar Court Care Home. He was a little reluctant to stay but the staff were so kind and understanding that he quickly settled in and enjoyed his stay. The room was comfortable and he had a great view of the Malvern Hills. The staff, without exception,

It feels like we have struck gold!
My mother has recently moved to Barchester Elgar Court Care Home, having tried two other homes which have not suited her needs.
She is the happiest I have seen her for many years! Her physical and mental health have significantly improved, enabling her to live
her best life at the age of 92.

From the first contact to Mother's arrival, we have been delighted with all aspects of care, reception and information given by everyone at Barchester Elgar Court Care Home. I was particularly touched by the telephone call from the home services advisor the day after Mum's arrival, checking everything
was ok and Mum was happy with her room etc. The manager has been so helpful and positive. Mum likes the calm atmosphere but with plenty going on if she wants it. Everyone has helped Mum settle in.

A very welcoming, safe and secure environment where I was happy to leave my mum for a two-week respite stay. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere calm and relaxed.
My mum found the meals good but would have liked more readily available fruit and more vegetables with
her meal. I can only comment on the cakes which were far too readily available but delicious!
There seemed to be a lot of advertised activities, although they were sometimes cancelled or altered last minute - I hope this improves for future visits.

I stayed at Barchester Elgar Court Care Home for a week to help me recuperate after a hip replacement. I found the staff very approachable, kind and very professional and would give them more than five stars if I could! This applies across the board, with high standards being obvious from admin, activities,
housekeeping, catering and not least, carers. Whilst my care needs were modest compared to other residents, any help I needed was readily available with a chat and smile thrown in for good measure.
My birthday fell during my stay and I was treated to a birthday cake and prosecco to make the day a bit more special than it might have been.
Thank you to all who made me welcome and helped during my short stay.

Both the day and nightcare teams were very good. It's been a very good experience sharing time with everyone there.
I liked the restaurant but would have liked to have had more vegetables and fruit available. I enjoyed some of the activities but they were often disorganised and sometimes cancelled

Every member of staff we met was helpful and obviously very caring. There was a wonderfully happy atmosphere. Facilities for both service users and visitors are second to none.

Elgar Court is a wonderful care home.
The building is brand new and excellent but the best feature of the home is the staff.

Hello, my name is Fran. I've worked as a carer for 9 years, and I love what I do. I love getting to know different kinds of people and building relationships with them, especially those with advanced dementia. It brings me great joy to engage and help empower my residents to live the fullest lives possible. I can be quiet, but I can also be very silly!


Outside of work, I love to collect vintage clothing, travel abroad, walk our local hills, sing and spend time with my family.
