Elgar Court is a purpose-built care home located in Malvern, and has been specifically designed to provide residential, respite and dementia care.

All Barchester homes are finished to the highest standard and furnished with impressive facilities from cosy lounges, ideal for reading the daily newspaper, through to well-maintained, colourful, secure gardens which are perfectly suited for you to relax or take a stroll.

The home is made up of three communities. Residential communities are on the ground and second floor and there is a Memory Lane community on the first floor.

The beautiful home comprises of 66 rooms which all have en-suite facilities, including a toilet, a wash basin and a wet-room. Most of the ground bedrooms have garden access. In addition there are six assisted toilets within the home, along with six spa bathrooms equipped with light and sound technology for you to enjoy.

There are several beautiful spaces to spend your days, either quietly alone or socialising with others. There are a variety of individually designed spaces including a café and four spacious dining rooms where you can dine in calm, relaxed surroundings. The well-appointed dining rooms are located on all floors, one on the ground floor, one on the first floor and one on the second floor including a private dining room with terrace access.

There are eight lounges in total. The lounge on the ground floor includes garden access. The lounges are thoughtfully designed with a variety of chair styles to suit everyone’s requirements, calming and soothing colours on the walls, and soft furnishings, TV areas and quieter reading spaces.

Excellent staff who are all thoroughly trained by the home. Nothing is too much trouble and you feel welcome when you visit. Mum has changed completely since she started living there. She looks better, is more engaged in activities and is happier. Mum is safe there.

Not having much idea on how to choose the right home for our mum, my brother and I thought it would be a rather daunting task. But with the expertise and detailed and friendly guidance from the staff, it turned out to be a pleasant experience and it became obvious to us that this was going to be Mum's
new home.
Mum settled in straightaway with the help of the friendly staff and other residents.
She is enjoying the food and the activities and she has told us that she feels safe which means the world to us.

My husband had a two-week respite break at Barchester Elgar Court Care Home. He enjoyed his stay and I, his wife and carer, had a break too.

From the first moment stepping through the door, I knew this was the place for Mum and Dad. All of the staff, the rooms, the facilities, food and drink are excellent. We were all made to feel instantly welcome. The whole process of getting them settled here has been thorough but not overly burdensome.
Mum has been here for a few days and her alertness has improved - and she is happy. I couldn't ask for more.

My Father was a short term resident at Elgar Court before his death. He was a stubborn soul who did not want to be in residential care. However, within a few days of settling in he declared he felt safe and happy and was enjoying the wonderful care and attention that he received from all the staff,
particularly his main carer. My only regret was that he could not have been persuaded to move in sooner and enjoy himself.

For my first visit, I was greeted with a warm smile as though the staff knew me which was comforting. I was made to feel welcome whilst my nan was son her way to me. Moving a parent with dementia into a care home is one of life's most difficult moments. I am so grateful for your kind, gentle and consistent support in the run up to and during the move. From management to admin staff and nursing/caring staff, you have all been wonderful - even offering me the occasional
hug when I needed it most. On the day of admission, as we walked in everybody knew my father's name: it put a smile on his face and made him feel important/restored some agency. We are only just on day 3, but from what I have seen so far I have absolutely no doubt that you will all do everything you can to make each moment for my father the best that it can be. Well, I visited my mother on the 14th of November, she had already stayed at Elgar Care home for 4 nights, instantly I was welcomed in by the staff and directed to my mum. She looked great, full of smiles and enjoying life there, participating in all the activities which they had to offer from the manager
and her wonderful team. I arrived about 5.30 pm not knowing it was dinner time but I sat with my mum who already made friends with other residents. Not 1 of them had a bad word to say about the, well, hotel, it's that nice a place. The food looked excellent, and I was offered sausage, chips, gravy and a drink, lovely food. Mum showed me to her lodgings. Wow, faultless. This is by far an exceptional place, second to none. I cannot thank the manager and her wonderful team enough.

I have been fortunate to stay at Barchester Elgar Court Care Home for several weeks whilst visiting the UK to see my daughter who lives nearby but is at work all day and has her own life to lead. I only have positive comments to make in spite of being a bit quiet and anxious to start with. I have enjoyed
the bright modern decor of the building itself, the spacious bed outside areas provide a good opportunity for residents, visitors to meet informally. The staff are committed and caring. They treat the resident with respect and patient and are very cheerful and helpful.

As a purpose-built, brand new facility, Barchester Elgar Court Care Home is fresh and clean, with comfortable, tasteful furnishings and state of the art facilities, which evidence their impressive attention to detail.
Add to that the views of the Malvern Hills, and the amenities and location are unbeatable.
Elgar Court is truly comparable to an upscale boutique hotel. Checking it out for a friend, I found its ambience warm and welcoming. It takes a very special person to be a caregiver, and every staff member I met was genuinely kind and friendly, and always ready to happily and unhurriedly answer questions. With the entire admission process tactfully and sympathetically administered, it’s by far the best I have seen.

My elderly but fiercely independent parents-in-law have been struggling at home for some time, but it became obvious that this could not continue. We (and my mother-in-law) had looked at various care homes, and Elgar Court was the clear favourite. We had an assessment booked when my father-in-law deteriorated
and was admitted to the hospital. We were delighted and relieved when Elgar agreed to accept mother-in-law the very next day. The staff have been so kind and patient with her, doing their utmost to support her rigid habits whilst gently persuading her into a healthier routine. She is very keen to see her husband as often as possible, and not only has Elgar provided a member of staff to accompany her on the time-consuming visits, but one of the care staff and her husband gave up their free afternoon to take her and stay with her for several hours, refusing any payment. She and we cannot praise the staff highly enough.

Outside of work, I love to collect vintage clothing, travel abroad, walk our local hills, sing and spend time with my family.

Hello, My name is Kerrie and I provide unique life enrichment for residents at Elgar Court. I moved to Malvern 12 years ago to live with my fiance and we have two tortoises and a snake. I love to play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends. I am very 'outdoorsy' and used to riding horses and competing nationally in athletics, specialising in track and field for Redditch and Bromsgrove Athletics Club.


In my spare time, I love being in the kitchen and making treats for my family.
