Elgar Court is a purpose-built care home located in Malvern, and has been specifically designed to provide residential, respite and dementia care.

All Barchester homes are finished to the highest standard and furnished with impressive facilities from cosy lounges, ideal for reading the daily newspaper, through to well-maintained, colourful, secure gardens which are perfectly suited for you to relax or take a stroll.

The home is made up of three communities. Residential communities are on the ground and second floor and there is a Memory Lane community on the first floor.

The beautiful home comprises of 66 rooms which all have en-suite facilities, including a toilet, a wash basin and a wet-room. Most of the ground bedrooms have garden access. In addition there are six assisted toilets within the home, along with six spa bathrooms equipped with light and sound technology for you to enjoy.

There are several beautiful spaces to spend your days, either quietly alone or socialising with others. There are a variety of individually designed spaces including a café and four spacious dining rooms where you can dine in calm, relaxed surroundings. The well-appointed dining rooms are located on all floors, one on the ground floor, one on the first floor and one on the second floor including a private dining room with terrace access.

There are eight lounges in total. The lounge on the ground floor includes garden access. The lounges are thoughtfully designed with a variety of chair styles to suit everyone’s requirements, calming and soothing colours on the walls, and soft furnishings, TV areas and quieter reading spaces.

Having reluctantly decided that she needed to go into a care home because of her failing eyesight, my mother came to visit Elgar Court. My sister and I had chosen this home because we were hugely impressed by the caring attitude, and commitment to a positive future for my mother, as demonstrated by
the manager.
My mother was given plenty of time to sit in her prospective room, and chat to members of staff, while she adjusted to the idea of living there. The welcome and kindness she received over several visits reassured her every time.
Since she moved in she has been encouraged to make the room her own, and she never has anything but praise for the kindness and attention she receives from every single member of staff. As she and the home staff get to know each other, Mum is gaining confidence to ask for help when needed. She loves having access to the outside from her room, and over time we are hoping that the grounds will be developed to allow more areas to walk and sit.

I first approached Elgar Court back in March 2023, and from the first contact, the support I received in moving my 90-year-old aunt and her partner, 91, has been excellent. Nothing has been a problem; they and I have received help and guidance with genuine concern for their future.
Now they are there,
they seem to have taken on a new lease of life, being able to socialise and enjoy the wonderful facilities they now have access to.
Well done to the manager and all her team; you have made this a wonderful experience for them.

What a wonderful caring place. My mum in law was adamant that she would not go into a care home. At 98 the family decided the time had come and we brought her on a 5 hour trip to Elgar Court. She had a terrible journey and we arrived after 19.30, but all the staff were absolutely wonderful, she was
looked after very well. The 'care for her started as she came through the doors'. A staff member had stayed on to do an assessment, the caring staff took on her care, we were all offered a great meal, and we left her well fed and comfortable in bed. After 8 days at Elgar Court, she says it a marvellous place, and indeed it is, costly but certainly value for money. Great care and life enrichment. Thank you every one of you
