Mom has been in Maplebrook Care Home since November and has received great care and support by the staff. Staff are very responsive and caring and I've been hugely comforted by the knowledge that Mom is receiving the best care available during what has been a challenging time. This is especially the
case as I live in Yorkshire and have not been able to just "pop in" during the week.
Maplebrook is very clean, comfortable and well equipped and the staff are very proactive with residents, making every effort to keep people engaged and stimulated and Mom has settled very quickly.

My wife has been here for 18 months and the care and support for her needs have been excellent. The staff have been very active with communicating with me to keep me up to date with her condition and needs and the building is always clean and tidy. There are plenty of activities and events that everyone
feels welcome to attend and the staff are very friendly and professional.

Following a difficult 4 week stay in hospital, my husband was assessed as needing a care home environment for his safety and wellbeing. On admission to Maplebrook he showed immediate calm and contentment with his surroundings which was such a relief to me to see him relax into his new surroundings.
Maplebrook is clean, comfortable, well-presented and maintained with lovely rooms, ensuite bathroom, good parking and central location in Wolverhampton. At the outset the staff displayed skills, experience, and dedication to provide an individual-focused care provision for my husband based on his own unique needs. He settled in easily and immediately into the Maplebrook community. The staff continually assessed my husband's needs, were adaptable to what made life comfortable for him. For me, I found all the staff approachable, would listen to any of my concerns and were responsive to my questions. Overall, I found Maplebrook provided a safe, effective, and caring environment for my husband.

The management team were appalling in their attitude and care displayed whilst I was visiting my mother there. I had to make several complaints and couldn't wait to get my mother away from there. For the last week and a half in their care she never once went to bed, saying she didn't want to, utter
rubbish, it was easier for the staff to keep her in the lounge! I didn't realise just how badly this care home was run until we got her moved. Would not recommend this care home ever.

Words can not express my gratitude to the amazing staff at Maplebrook Care Home. My dad sadly passed away at Maplebrook recently and the care to not only Dad but to myself was beyond compare. The support from outside agencies was also amazing, the GPs and a charity, thank you.
The passing of a parent
is always a heartbreaking time but I can say that it was made that little easier by these wonderful people.

Whilst visiting my niece, who is a service user on respite, my thoughts were what a great home. Beautifully furnished and spotless. Fellow residents were clean and well cared for. Staff on duty during my visit were friendly and professional (as a retired nurse, this was my observation). Fellow residents
and their families appeared happy. Manager very pleasant and accommodating. Food looked and smelled great! Well done, keep up the good standards.

Upon arrival, the receptionist was very helpful and could not do enough for us. I must also say that the core staff were very friendly and genuinely caring towards all residents. Furthermore the home was clean and tidy and in immaculate condition. I would thoroughly recommend this home to anyone with

From day one, my husband was cared for by friendly and helpful staff. Everything was immaculate and there was always a member of staff to assist. We were always greeted on arrival by cheerful and helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble. Each member of staff made sure you were aware of their name
and their specific duties. My husband was very comfortable and happy during his time at Maplebrook Care Home. Even our little dog was welcomed.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.498)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.498) out of 10 for Maplebrook Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.366 for Maplebrook Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (70 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (10 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 93 Ratings = 4.366

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.132 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Maplebrook Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 81 registered maximum number of service users is 16.2. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 16.2 = 0.432

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
